That actually sounds reasonable enough to me. It would be completely nonsensical to force a standing start after every single Safety Car deployment. That whole process takes forever—realigning the cars on the grid, running the formation lap, all that.

Just imagine they restart, someone wipes out in Turn 1, and you have to do the entire tedious routine all over again. Then it happens again a few laps later. There is simply no logic in it.

I failed to account for the unique nature of this street circuit—one that happens to suit Hamilton perfectly—but I was close. Extremely close.

By the way, this marks Hamilton's sixth win on this track. If my memory serves me, I believe Schumacher hit that number as well, though I can't be entirely certain.

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with Red Bull. Being over a second behind the leader is just way too much—especially after all that hype about them having massive ups and downs 😢

If there had been a clause in his contract allowing Rick to move over to Mercedes in 2018... but man, I doubt Red Bull Racing would ever let him go.

If he keeps driving like he did today without a care in the world, they won't just kick him out of Red Bull; he won't even find a seat in a mid-tier car...

Red Bull is already looking for an excuse to drop a driver, and today was clearly just the fallout from him losing his cool...
I mean, Max has been breathing down his neck constantly. Even today, he was faster through the first two sectors, which is exactly why he started forcing it and ended up being a jerk...
What’s worse is that the second team isn't actually that far behind Red Bull, and since they have great drivers, the main crew definitely won't tolerate being sabotaged by the junior squad...

So don't sweat it, Daniel Ricciardo will be out of Red Bull in a heartbeat if he keeps this up. The real question is whether Mercedes-Benz would even want him...

Max was outrunning Kimi at that moment, while Ricciardo was trailing behind—that’s exactly why he pushed like crazy in S3 and ended up hitting the wall.

The rules were written back in 2015, promising lap times would be 4-5 seconds faster compared to 2015 !

So, let’s take a quick look at Australia:

Qualifying:
2017: 1:22.188
vs
2015: 1:26.327

That's 4.139 seconds faster. 🙂

Race distance:
2017: 1:26.538
vs
2015: 1:30.945

That's 4.407 seconds faster. 🙂

And yet, somehow that promise wasn't kept... honestly, I can't tell who the crazy one is anymore. 😵

What is actually wrong with these people? Is all they know how to complain about things being "bad," while having the nerve to throw out completely wrong data just to act like they're experts?

Then you've got the crowd that blindly believes everything they read online just because "that's what it says."

It’s not just Spa, though. It could happen on any track because these cars are going to get faster every single weekend.
If you listen to the post-race interviews from Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, or Red Bull Racing, they all seem to agree on one thing: there is still massive room for development. 🙂

Monaco is going to be epic. I can hardly wait!

This is officially Vettel's best start to a season in years. Aside from back in 2011 when he grabbed two wins and a second place in the first three races, everything else has been pretty mediocre. 😁

Has he still not managed to pull off a win after starting from 3rd or worse? 🙂

Don't forget—if Antonio Giovinazzi hadn't pulled that stupid stunt in China and caused a safety car, Vettel probably would've walked away with 3 wins in 3 races

And that's something nobody saw coming.

Mercedes-Benz still has the fastest car, but they aren't used to anyone actually breathing down their necks. Once someone starts pressing them, they clearly start tripping over themselves. It's no wonder they've just been coasting for the last 3 years. Get it? They aren't used to the pressure.

We'll see how it all plays out this season.
