I’ve got a deadline looming in just a few days, so I am reaching out to anyone who might actually know their way around this stuff because I could really use some help:

I'm currently stuck using Office 2007, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to set up a new email address within it. If there is anyone out there willing to lend a hand, please, I am begging you—could you write me a super detailed, step-by-step guide? I need to know exactly where to click and precisely which settings to plug in, like the incoming and outgoing server details and all that technical jargon. Thank you so much.

I am reaching out because I desperately need some assistance regarding Excel—if anyone here actually knows their way around the software, I would be incredibly grateful.
Here is the situation I’m dealing with: I am trying to construct a scatter plot in Excel where the X-axis represents temperature and the Y-axis represents melting points. My plan was simple enough—just list the X values vertically in column A and the corresponding Y values in column B. However, I have run into a massive headache! Every single time I attempt to input a decimal value—say, 1.05—the program decides to take liberties with my data and automatically converts it into something nonsensical, like 1.st or 1.25 becoming 1.st... it’s absolute madness! Because of this glitch, I am completely unable to generate a functional graph. Please, if anyone can help me fix this, let me know what steps I need to take to ensure Excel respects my input and keeps these numbers as actual decimal values exactly as I type them.
Thank you all so much in advance 🙂

In my American Windows settings, the decimal separator is a period. 🙂

But whenever I type a period, Excel decides to be difficult and converts it into a "date cell."

- if those four pieces of data are in their own columns (A1 through D1), both formulas in E1 will give you the same result: 12a44b

Formula 1 in E1: =A1&B1&C1&D1 etc., or
Formula 2 in E1:=CONCATENATE(A1;B1;C1;D1)
- once you enter it in E1, just drag it down

- with the first formula, you can add spaces if you want, for example: =A1&" "&B1&" "&C1&" "&D1 => 12 a 44 b

Thanks for trying, but I don't think that really helps me much.
I honestly don't know how to explain what I actually need. 🙂
Never mind, forget it. I'll just go copy-paste. 🙂

🤦
- Come on, give me some clarity here—first, you've gotta define what you actually mean by "transfer."

Hey everyone... I'm wondering if it's actually possible to pick up Microsoft Office 2010 at a local computer store... I see it online, but I don't really trust those sites. Honestly, even Office 2007 would work—actually, I'm pretty sure you can just download that one for free from the web... right?

You can just go out and buy it—honestly, pretty much every big-box retailer carries it... I mean, if you could just download it for free, it wouldn't be for sale in the first place, right?

Have you actually checked the setup instructions on your email provider's website yet?

I don't see any issue if the law was just transcribed straight from the Federal Register.
I mean, at the end of the day, she could've just gone to a public library or something and copied—or like, printed out—a specific law.

darksailor2 said:All that data needs to be shoved into one massive column.

If you want to shove all your data into a single column—say, Column A—let's assume your info is currently spread out across Columns A through E.

The data headers are in the first row, so your actual info runs from A2 down to E100. Just pop a formula into cell F2 and drag it down as far as you need to cover the rest.

Check this out: `=INDEX($A$2:$E$100, MOD(ROWS(F$2:F32)-1, ROWS($A$2:$E$16))+1, INT((ROWS(F$2:F32)-1)/ROWS($A$2:$E$16))+1)`

Grab the whole F column. Select F => Copy => then hit Column G and do a Paste Special => Values. Boom. Now all your data is sitting right there in column G.
Delete columns A through F. Now what used to be column G is sitting right where column A was.

If you don't want to deal with manual copying, just run a Macro. So, how do you even deal with MacroOrders? Check out the link.

HEADS UP!Do this on a copy of the file. Once you run the MacroOrder, there’s no Undo.

First thing you gotta do is grant permission. Running the MacroOrder In Excel. Now you need to... Just drop in Module1.Just drop this Macro into the sheet where you need everything moved, run it, and it'll stack all those data points into column A, one right under the other. Simple as that.

Alright, once you've got everything ready, just right-click the sheet tab where that data lives and hit View Code.
[edit:] Select on the left side Module1 Just paste this Macro below code : Sub OneColumn into the right side of the VBE.

Code:
Macro below code : Sub OneColumn

Dim Last_Row_A as Long dim Last_Col as Integer dim i
Dim I, J As Integer
Last_Row_A = range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
Last_Col = Cells(1, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column

For j as Integer Last_Row_A = range
Last_Row = Cells(Rows.Count, J).End(xlUp).Row
Range(Cells(1, J), Cells(Last_Row, J)).cut Cells
Cells(Last_Row_A + 2, 1).select ActiveSheet
ActiveSheet.Paste
Last_Row_A = range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
Row Next j Cells
Cells(1, 1).select
select end Sub

Get back into that specific Excel sheet, hit ALT+F8, and just run the Macro below code : Sub OneColumn.

Alright, all the data from the other columns has been dumped into Column A, stacked one after another, complete with headers.

Does anyone here actually know how to build a database in MS Access? I could really use some help working through a specific assignment 🙂

The only real issue here is that we’re dealing with a cleaned-up version of the Law. You won't find anything like this in the Federal Register. They just publish the Laws and any subsequent amendments as they come out.
Registered companies handle all the polished, finalized versions of these texts, and they charge a premium for it. But you can't just go around publishing them publicly—there'd be no point in doing the work if anyone could grab it for free, which is exactly why those protections exist. Honestly, trying to keep up with the federal laws and all their constant amendments on the official government websites is an absolute nightmare. It’s nearly impossible to stay current when there isn't a single version of the law available that hasn't been cluttered by endless updates and supplements.

Kyle Johnson2 said:Alright, that wasn't quite what I meant. I'm actually more curious about that Word document itself. 😉

I'm thinking this is all down to Windows Rights Management. It lets the author set up restricted access, which basically locks certain features—like preventing someone from printing, in this case (though you can also block copying or editing).

If that's really what's happening, then there isn't a "legal" way around it, as far as I know—even regarding that other thing mentioned earlier.

For Word 2007, you just go to Prepare -> Restrict permission -> Restricted access.

If that's what's happening, then yeah, there isn't really a "legal" way around it—though I guess I don't know much about the other possibilities either.

In Word 2007, you'd go to Prepare -> Restrict -> Restricted access.

That's my best guess on what's going on here.

Yesterday, I downloaded that file onto my computer, and now it’s just... gone from my downloads folder. Weird!
I actually ran into something similar a few months back—some legal document (ugh, total headache) that wouldn't let me print anything, but then they converted it to a PDF and suddenly I could.
Anyway, I'll give that Prepare trick a shot next time.

Thanks everyone for the help!

I could really use some help here.
Could someone walk me through how I can take about 20 pages and put them into a single document, but have the page numbering actually start on the fourth page, beginning with 1, 2, 3...
Thanks so much! 😍

I am honestly such a disaster when it comes to managing my time, so I didn't exactly set out to start a whole discussion about this... but I've been scouring the internet and various forums looking for tutorials on how to properly write formulas in Word 2007. Basically, I'm working on my senior thesis right now and I've already figured out how to write a vector like "a" with that little arrow sitting right on top of it. However, I am completely stuck on how to write a vector like "ab" where the arrow is perfectly centered right between the letters a and b! I really hope you guys can follow what I'm getting at here, because I feel like I'm going to lose my mind if I can't figure this out... THANKS SO MUCH!
