Yeah, I took a similar approach, at least conceptually.
I set up two buttons (on/off) to toggle the visibility of certain columns. It works fine for now, though there’s always room for improvement...

I'm also hunting for a formula that would...
clear the contents of an adjacent cell if the current cell value is zero
If anyone has a solution for that...

make the cell next to a zero empty

Just pop this formula into B1: =IF(A1=0,"",A1). Look, here’s how that works in plain English: if there's a zero sitting in A1, then B1 shows up blank. If it’s anything else, B1 just grabs whatever value is in A1. Once you drag that formula down the rest of column B, it’ll go through the whole list and clear out every cell in column B whenever it hits a zero in column A. Simple enough, right?

Walter Jackson48 said:In cell B1, you’d enter this formula: =IF(New York City=0;"";New York City). Basically, if there's a zero in New York City, B1 stays blank; otherwise, it just pulls the value from New York City. Once you drag that formula down the rest of column B, it’ll clear out any cells where the corresponding row in column A hits a zero.

I guess I need to brush up on my IF statements... doesn't look too bad, though..🙂
Perfect. That does it. Thanks!

So, I’ve got this document in English and I was trying to get it to run a grammar check, but every time I click to start the process, absolutely nothing happens... just total silence.

Like, look, all I can actually click on in the menu are "check spelling..." and "use contextual...", everything else is just grayed out and useless.
Underneath that, in the exceptions section, I can toggle between my current document or a new one, but again, the whole thing is grayed out! And apparently, I have "hide spelling errors" and "hide grammar errors" checked by default.

And I'm stuck. The only way I can even budge anything is if I uncheck and then re-check those first two options at the top, which finally lets me uncheck "hide spelling errors"... but even then, it still won't show me a single thing! I honestly have no clue how to actually make the grammar mistakes pop up... it's like I somehow buried them so deep in the soul of the software that they're gone forever...😢

I was wondering if there's some kind of workaround or any sneaky way to get rid of those ads in the old Office Starter 2010? I really want them gone.

Hey everyone! I'm working on my resume in Excel, and whenever I start a line with a hyphen and hit enter, it keeps converting everything into numbers. How do I stop that from happening?

In Excel? 😕 You’re clearly using Word. Just turn off the auto-numbering.

I was wondering if anyone might be able to guide me on how to calculate every possible combination of numbers ranging from 1 to 20 within Excel. Specifically, I am looking to generate sets where each combination consists of exactly two numbers—for instance, starting with 1,2; then 1,3; followed by 1,4, and so on.

=COMBIN(20,2)
The result is 190

But would you be so kind as to list out every single possible combination for me?

I just finished up my term paper and now I need to get the page numbering sorted out. I know I can just go to Insert then Page Numbers, but I was wondering—how do I make sure it skips the title page so the numbering doesn't start there?

So you can just toggle the setting to skip that first page.

So, how do I actually do that?

I believe there is an option within the insertion settings—something along the lines of "different first page." However, I am not entirely certain whether you are working with Word 2003 or 2007, so I will refrain from going into too much technical detail.

I Excel has a column where I've listed values in minutes and seconds—and now, I need to sum them all up.
Does anyone happen to know the best way to pull this off?
Here is what my data looks like:

00:23
01:58
01:25
00:16
03:33
01:57
00:50
01:18
00:32
00:47
01:26
00:29
00:27
00:32
00:11
03:37

In PowerPoint 2007, I am looking to segment certain text blocks rather than having the entire body of text appear at once upon clicking. Specifically, if I have about ten sentences on a single slide, I want to divide them into three distinct parts. My intention is that the first click displays the initial three sentences, a second click reveals the next three, and a final click shows the remaining four before moving to the subsequent slide. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Which version of Word are you using?

It looks like this:

00:23
01:58
01:25
00:16
03:33
01:57
00:50
01:18
00:32
00:47
01:26
00:29
00:27
00:32
00:11
03:37
00:13
01:07

If those cells are formatted so they recognize the entries as minutes and seconds, you just sum them up like any other "normal" values.

I'm asking because... this is urgent.
