So, what if I don't know which buildings are actually in the table? I'd love to set it up so that when I go to enter something, a little dropdown menu pops up—kind of like a search box where I can just pick the specific building I want results for. Is there a way to do that?

Code:
SELECT Distinct *
From Buildings

The dropdown will show every column once the query runs. This way, you'll get a list of building names without any duplicates. Honestly, you could also just export the results to Excel and play around with filters or pivot tables there—that’s usually easier for me.

The dropdown shows every column when you run the query. This method ensures building names only appear once. You could also just export the results to Excel and play around with filters and pivot tables there.

Thanks.

So I’m sitting here grinding away in Google Sheets, building out all these tables and running calculations, right? Everything is going smooth until—BAM—I drop a formula in and suddenly the whole thing glitches out. It’s throwing an error at me saying I can only enter whole numbers! Like, seriously? I didn't change anything, it just decided to go rogue. I’m probably missing some setting or need to toggle something on or off, but I have no clue where to find it. Can someone please help me out before I lose my mind???? I'm using the 2007 version of Microsoft Office

Wait, what was that formula you wrote down again? Can you send it over?

My apologies if this question has already been asked; I haven't been able to find it. The issue I am facing is this:
I have a computer running Windows XP with Office 2003 installed. Everything is properly licensed.
Recently, however, I have been receiving many .docx documents that I cannot open.
How might I resolve this? A colleague suggests there might be an add-on available to read these files.
Could someone provide a direct download link? If not, perhaps you could send it via private message.
Thank you.

So, I guess I should download and install that FileFormatConverters.exe then?!
Is that everything, or maybe there is something else I am missing? Please help a beginner here
Thanks!

That’s pretty much the gist of it, though the link suggests making sure Office is fully patched up. If you're running genuine Windows and Office, you're probably already good to go.
I actually installed this ages ago—didn't bother patching a thing and it worked just fine, but honestly, that was over four years ago 🙂

I might try it tomorrow. Everything is legitimate... though I suppose I don't know if that means it has been patched.
thanks so much

Hey,

Does anyone happen to have some basic PowerPoint presentations on Word and Excel? Or maybe know where I could track some down. Just looking for the absolute basics, I guess.

Thanks.

Check the Data Validation on those cells.

Hi there,
Is there a way in Excel to count cells that contain a value? I'm entering data into some columns and would like to see a running total of how many cells I've actually filled out.
Thanks in advance.

Just use the COUNTIF function.

Just keep in mind—are you looking at numbers only, or is there text mixed in too?

I'm looking to pick up an original copy of Office 2010 for my business. Quick question: if I install Office on one computer, am I able to use that same CD to install Office on other machines later on?

Nah, you can only install that on one computer. If you’re looking to grab more licenses for your business—you know, because scaling up is actually a thing people do—you could probably check out something like this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/business/

I was wondering if someone using Office 2007 or maybe an even older version could still open files that were originally put together in Office 2010?

Of course they can. But there is a specific way to do it. 🙄

When you go to Save as.., look right below the box
where you type the filename; you can select Microsoft Word document 2003 or 2007.

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to pull off something specific in Excel and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction? Is this even possible?

So, let's say Sheet2 has three columns, and each one has its own header.
Like, just some data sitting under those headers.

DATA1 DATA2 DATA3
10 5 1
20 15 2
30 25 3

Here's the deal: I want to go over to Sheet1 and set up a dropdown list containing those three column headers. Then, once I pick a column—say, DATA2—I want all the cells underneath that dropdown to automatically fill up with the corresponding data from that column. Basically, as I toggle through the different options in the dropdown, I want the numbers below to swap out instantly.
I managed to get the dropdown list working, but I'm totally stuck on what comes next. Any ideas?

Thanks!
