What’s wrong with good old Internet Explorer anyway?👍

If it won't let you do them all at once, just go through them one by one.....

I managed to hide those "optional updates" using Shift-click and the right-click "Hide updates" option. Now I'm left with just Silverlight (4.7 MB) and the English Language pack (45 MB), just in case I actually need them later...😁

Alright, I assume everyone is finally done asking how to get rid of this 😁
@ Noah Sanchez39, if you need the American LIP 32-bit & 64-bit versions, just let me know. I have them on RS

The Windows Firewall service should be set to start automatically.

@ Noah Sanchez39, if you end up needing the American LIP 32 & 64-bit, let me know—I've got it on RS

Thanks, Noah Miller6, but I don't think I'll be needing an American interface on my home Computer/file systems anytime soon. 😲

My laptop's running an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5250 @ 1.50GHz
plus just 1GB of RAM and some integrated graphics... honestly not even sure what kind I've got under the hood 🙂 so I was wondering if I could actually pull off installing Windows 7 on this thing, or if I should just try to bump up the RAM first...

Increasing the RAM a bit wouldn't hurt, though even with just a single gig of memory, Windows still manages to run.

So, I went ahead and bit the bullet yesterday—decided to finally wipe everything and install Windows 7. After messing around with the beta versions and those pre-release builds, I finally sat down to put the actual final version on my machine. Everything was looking great, totally smooth, until I tried to install EA Games and then—boom—the whole system just freezes up on me 😁. To make matters worse, I still can't find a single decent driver for my wireless printer, so I'm stuck with a brand-new printer that's basically a paperweight right now. Honestly, maybe I should've just waited a little longer before jumping ship to Windows 7. Don't get me wrong, I know this OS is the future—I mean, Microsoft is clearly going all-in on 7 and they’re eventually going to pull the plug on support for XP (it lasts until 2014, right?)—but man, let's just milk XP for all it's worth while we still can. We owe it to the old beast! :P

Install e-zabu 😕. I guess maybe your printer just won't accept those Vista or XP drivers when you try running them in 🙂Compatibility
mode.

It’s honestly not worth the hassle. Half the software I use just won't run on it. Take Delphi 7, for example.
Best,

Guys, what a joke. 🤣 He says Windows is trash because his eight-year-old software isn't running right, even though Delphi 14 is already out. 🤣

Greetings.

For the most part, I find myself quite satisfied with Windows 7, yet I have encountered a singular, persistent frustration regarding torrenting.
Every single time I initiate a download, roughly five minutes into the process, I am met with a Blue Screen of Death, followed by an immediate system reboot.
I have attempted to troubleshoot this by testing various files and switching between different download clients, but the result remains stubbornly the same—even after experimenting with Compatibility mode and using the Run as administrator option.
Does anyone happen to have a solution for this particular headache?

Thank you.

Alex Harris32 said:Hey there!

Look, I’m actually pretty happy with Windows 7 overall, but this one specific thing is driving me absolutely insane: torrenting.
Every single time I start a download, about five minutes in, I get hit with a BSOD and the whole machine just restarts on me.
I’ve tried downloading different files, switching up my client, even messing with Compatibility mode and trying to Run as administrator, but nothing works—it’s always the same result.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix this?

Thanks!

Honestly, man, that BSOD is probably being caused by your hardware, not some software glitch!
Go check your CPU and GPU temperatures right now. Also, tell me, is your rig overclocked?

I highly doubt this has anything to do with your hardware; I’ve tested everything on Windows XP and it all seems to be functioning perfectly fine.

The only thing is, I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the icons smaller. They're way too huge for my liking and it's driving me crazy,🤷🤷 🤷
so if anyone knows the trick to shrinking the icons on my desktop, please let me know!
Thanks in advance
Cheers🙏

Just left-click any icon on your desktop, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard, and then scroll that mouse wheel!
It works like magic!
😉 😉

Alex Harris32 said:No way, man, that’s got nothing to do with your hardware. Everything runs perfectly fine on Vista and even on xpu.

Then we're looking at a driver issue, plain and simple!
Most of the time, when you're staring at a Blue Screen of Death, it's either a hardware failure or a driver crashing out on you!

There is zero chance it's an issue with Windows itself!

The fact that everything works fine on Vista and Windows XP doesn't change a thing.

What drivers are we even talking about here? Honestly, just tell me exactly which driver I need and what it's supposed to be doing so I can stop this headache once and for all.
The thing is, this isn't just isolated to my torrent client; it starts happening with other applications too... 🙂

I'm tied up with a few things at the moment, but I'll get some screenshots together by tomorrow and then we can actually look into this properly.

Man, I am actually dying laughing right now! 😂 🤣

Are you seriously sitting there thinking a torrent is what’s triggering your BSOD?
hahaha... give me a break, that's just ridiculous...

I mean, the only way that happens is if you're out here downloading straight-up malware from some sketchy, bottom-tier P2P site or some random tracker you found in a dark corner of the web!! Look, just send over the actual error code you get when that blue screen pops up.. snap a photo or just write it down.. then we can actually Google it and see what's really going on!
