They call it one of the most visited spots in the country, but honestly? I’m just not seeing the appeal. It doesn't strike me as particularly attractive at all. Is it just me, or does the hype sometimes feel a bit disconnected from reality?😁
Or was that just that one race where they didn't even bother with tires?🤣

Wasn't that the race where they had those issues with the bottles? 😬

Next year, I imagine we might just see a giant banner hanging somewhere asking, "Got tires?"

before.
which just goes to show there's a huge crowd of fans following the sport who aren't necessarily showing up (or at least, not becoming) ☕

Does anyone have the stats on what our peak concurrent user count was this year versus our daily average?
That column tracking thread views isn't really a great metric for actual traffic, since the same regulars end up opening the same threads a million times.

Seems I'm the only one actually enjoying this race. While everyone else was busy puking and complaining, I was having a blast.
I'm practically bursting with joy, almost like Kartikeyan😁. At least my guys made it onto the
podium🤣
A total embarrassment, but... still... 🙂

I've always felt that the column showing thread views isn't really a reliable metric for actual traffic, since the same group of regulars tends to click through the same threads over and over again.

I remember back in the day when you could actually see the specific usernames of everyone active in a thread, rather than just seeing a raw number.
Now, apparently, that’s considered "sensitive" data that even the moderators don't have access to—unless, of course, I'm just missing where they tucked that feature away somewhere.

"Once I got the signal from the crew and peeled out of the pits, I honestly didn't notice anything weird—no feeling of being tethered to something," he admitted. "Then Rob [Smedley], my engineer, jumps on the radio telling me to kill it because the fuel line was still hooked up to the chassis. It wasn't until I checked my mirror that I actually saw it but, obviously, the damage was already done."

Massu's statement 🤣😂

Now it’s treated like this "confidential" info that even the mods can't access (unless I’m just totally clueless and missed where to find it

Honestly, that’s fine by me. ☕

If they changed it, then everyone hanging out on this forum who has moderator privileges could basically track my every move and see exactly which threads I’m lurking in.🤣

so everyone hanging out on this forum with moderator access could just track which threads I'm lurking in 🤣

They don't even need special access to see that. Any random user can do it.😉

Just check your profile. Look at the top right corner and it says:

"Last activity in..."
"Currently viewing thread..."

So yeah, you aren't fooling anyone. We all know what you're up to. 😬

Now, if we look at this theoretically—I mean, when you have 800 horsepower pushing you from behind, wouldn't you barely even notice a slight bump? It’s quite possible he attributed that jolt during the launch to just the sheer force of the acceleration. Between the adrenaline spike and his mind already racing toward Turn 1 and keeping an eye on Hamilton... who knows? He might actually be telling the truth here.

I guess rearview mirrors on these cars are just there for decoration, right? ☕

Can you even see where the mirrors are on that Ferrari???

You’d practically have to snap your neck just to get a glimpse of them.🤔

Why on earth didn't they just take them off then?!
At least on the racing car, since they aren't being used anyway.

I suspect the driver was just staring at the moment the
green light finally flickers on, too busy waiting to worry about anyone else's business...

When you start driving and merging into traffic, whose job is it to check those damn mirrors? Or do you have a co-pilot doing it for you?

What nonsense. Everyone knows what mirrors are for.
And if they aren't needed on F1 cars, then let them take them off. They're just adding drag anyway.

Look, you aren't driving a semi-truck, so maybe tone it down a bit.
By your logic, a lollipop man is useless too, but he exists specifically so the driver can
focus on the controls, getting a faster start, looking ahead (the lollipop and flags
handle everything behind them),...😠
...and once the race is underway, obviously they're essential.😠

Samuel Cruz61 said:I mean, have you actually taken a close look at where they put the rearview mirrors on that Ford? It’s almost like they forgot they exist.

You’d practically have to snap your neck just to get a decent look at them, wouldn't you?🤔

I noticed that bobsi hasn't weighed in on this yet. It makes me wonder, does anyone else feel like we're missing a key perspective here? Sometimes the most insightful thoughts come from the people who listen more than they speak, don't you think? I'm curious to see if bobsi has any thoughts on the matter once they find a moment to settle in. kaže:
I honestly think that at that exact moment, the driver was probably just staring, waiting for the opening to clear. Is it just me, or does it feel like they were simply watching for the right second to make their move?
Is it better to just take a lollipop and enjoy the ride, or should I focus on getting that green light? Honestly, maybe it’s best to just stay out of everyone else's business and mind my own.

What absolute nonsense. I mean, does anyone actually need an explanation for that? It’s common sense—everyone knows exactly what rearview mirrors are there for.
If they don't think those decals belong on the F1 cars, then honestly, they should just take them off. I mean, what’s the harm? At the end of the day, all those people do anyway is sit around and complain about how the cars are performing.

I honestly can't wrap my head around why anyone would bother glancing in the rearview mirrors while driving through the pit lane. I know I wouldn't. It feels completely irrelevant, especially when you're driving for Ford—when you have the first pit box, everyone else is still trailing behind you anyway. Why even look back? ☕

mistybear87 said:I don't really get why anyone would bother checking their mirrors while driving through the pit lane... personally, I wouldn't, because it just doesn't matter—especially for Ford, since they have the first pit stall and everyone else is stuck behind them. ☕

Am I speaking Greek here, or are you guys just being difficult?
Who actually said you have to be staring at the mirrors the entire time you're in the pits? It seems reasonable to glance back once you're exiting the box.

It’s not like it hasn't happened to Moss before, nearly clipping someone when pulling out of his stall. It's almost as if he thinks the rearview mirror is just there for decoration.

Besides, whether it's the lollipop man or the automated system Ford uses, they signal the driver to exit when the path is clear, not just whenever the crew finishes swapping tires and fueling up.

I guess some people are just missing the point. 🙄
