I mean, sure, maybe it was smarter for him to just play it safe and squeeze through like Kubica or Kovalainen and risk some bodywork damage?! 😵
You can tell me he ended up with 11 cars ahead of him after the chicane for all I care, but I seriously doubt it. (That footage from Jubilee seems to have mysteriously vanished... hmm...)

Here’s a photo for when you’re "seriously doubting" 🤣
I even marked who's who just to make it crystal clear for you 🙂

If you need any more proof, I'm happy to provide it... ☕
It bugs me because he should be a decent guy first and a driver second (not talking about his move during the race, but what was mentioned in the previous post), which is why I don't like him. That's just my personal take.
Let him sit in that mediocre Renault for a while; it'll bring him back down to earth. Maybe that loud-mouthed "temperament" of his will chill out a bit. ☕

Look, I get it, but your personal feelings toward Alonso shouldn't really color your judgment on whether his move on the track was fair or not 🙄
I don't usually dive this deep into these kinds of debates, but hey, let's have some fun while we're at it 😵

I'm not either—this is actually my first big debate on here 😬

Just before entering turn 12.
Which exit are we even talking about?

Let's review material:
My issue—and I am referring to the sentiment expressed in the previous post rather than that specific maneuver during the race—is that he ought to be a decent human being first, and a driver second.

The Greatest Driver Ever? Man, people love to argue about this one. It’s like trying to decide if a cheeseburger from Five Guys is better than a Shake Shack burger—everyone has their thing, right? You get these guys going back and forth, throwing stats around like they actually mean everything, but it's never that simple. It’s not just about who has the most wins or who’s got the flashiest lifestyle in Malibu. It’s about that feeling when a driver is just... in the zone. Like, you know how some musicians just lock into a rhythm and the whole room changes? That's what I'm talking about. One minute you're watching someone struggle, and the next, they're carving through the corners like they were born behind the wheel. I don't know, I feel like we get too caught up in the numbers. If you look at the history books, sure, there are legends. But greatness isn't a spreadsheet. It's more like that one guy you know who can fix any car engine just by listening to the sound it makes. It's intuitive. It's raw. Everyone thinks they know the answer, but honestly? We're all just guessing based on who had the best car that week. It's a mess, but hey, that's why we watch, I guess. kaže:
First off, please just listen to your own advice for once.😉Look, I’m telling you straight up—I don't give a damn about Ferrari or McLaren, alright? It’s not even about who wins or loses for me. The whole point here is that they're actually handing out penalties. That's what matters. everyone Besides Ferrari, it feels like it's just McLaren and Lewis Hamilton getting hit with those questionable, brainless penalties all the time. Seriously, give me just one example of a penalty Ferrari actually picked up.🤷 Forget all that talk about $10,000 fines or whatever. That’s not even the point. Honestly, Lewis Hamilton and McLaren would gladly trade those six points they grabbed in Belgium for a $100,000 fine in a heartbeat if it meant getting things right. And look, even if we weren't talking about this situation but were looking back at Japan 2007, my point stays the same. I'm not saying Felipe Massa is the only one to blame here—both him and Robert Kubica played a part—but if you follow your logic, you're basically saying that since they both cut the chicane, nobody actually gained an advantage. By that same logic, Lewis Hamilton didn't gain any advantage either, because Kimi Räikkönen didn't finish the race after hitting the wall. So, by your reasoning, there was zero advantage taken.🤣
Look, when you start bringing up Lewis Hamilton and Monza like that, I gotta say... you’re actually onto something there. You've got a point.Honestly, Lewis Hamilton deserved that stop and go penalty at Monza. It’s just one of those things where you look at the replay and it’s pretty clear. I don't know, maybe I'm being too harsh, but if you're pushing the limits like that, you gotta expect the FIA to step in. It’s kind of like when you're driving down Broadway and someone cuts you off—you might be mad, but they definitely broke the rules of the road. It’s just how the game works now. Everyone's looking for any tiny mistake to throw a flag on. Just my two cents, though. If there was ever a moment where he actually earned a penalty during his entire career, it was at Monza—but of course, they didn't give him one.👎 Fuck the referee, fuck the FIA, and honestly? Fuck those compensations too. 🙂

Look, at the end of the day, a driver drives for the team. Period. The team hands them the car—whether it’s a rocket ship or a total lemon—and they also handle the pit stops. If the crew nails a six-second stop, the driver gets that boost. But if the pit crew fumbles and takes fifteen minutes to get things sorted? Well, the driver just has to eat that consequence too. It's all on them. Honestly, it makes me wonder why we even bother with refueling and tire changes at all; we should just scrap the whole thing and call it quits. And hey, if Felipe Massa thinks his crew at Ferrari isn't cutting it, he can always just jump ship over to Force India and win a championship there. Those guys never mess up a pit stop.

If there’s one thing that really gets under my skin, it’s when someone gets slapped with a penalty for some rule they didn't even realize they broke. It just feels wrong, you know? Like, if you're out there playing the game and you miss a tiny detail, getting punished for it feels totally unnecessary. It’s like being pulled over on a highway in Chicago for having a slightly cracked taillight—it’s technically a violation, sure, but it doesn't feel like justice. It just feels like they're looking for any excuse to throw a flag. It just isn't there. It’s gone. Nothing. Man, someone’s definitely gonna post about this once the dust settles from that messy incident and the driver gets hit with that penalty.🙄 It’s not just about Lewis Hamilton, though. You can't forget Nick Heidfeld was right there in the mix too.🤔 And I’ve gotta say, someone else needs to weigh in on that absolute snail-paced driving we saw at the end of qualifying. Seriously, what was that?

It’s kind of like when you're cruising down Broadway and suddenly there's just a sign staring you in the face right there on the side of the road. 50 milesMan, those restrictions... you basically just cruise through with them. 50 milesMan, you gotta grab a shot of that camera. Seriously. Two days later and they’ve already got roadwork going on and a sign posted up out of nowhere. 19 milesMan, it’s honestly wild how you can be driving exactly eighty on the highway, totally following the speed limit, and the cops still roll up to your house with a photo of you clearly hitting that eighty mark just to slap you with a ticket anyway. It makes zero sense. $1000 And they’re gonna yank his license for six months, too... honestly, since that seat is basically a dead end right now, he might as well take the break. 19 milesI can't believe I actually typed that. My bad. Just a little slip of the fingers there. Anyway, back to reality.🙄

Look, here's the thing... my main issue is that I just can't stand conspiracy theories. I mean, I said this last season too when we were going back and forth, and honestly, back then I was being totally unbiased because, frankly, I didn't give a damn about who ended up taking the championship.

It’s not even about me being bummed that Massa !!!!!!! didn't take the win. Honestly, I don't care about that part. What actually matters—the big thing for me—is just wanting to see someone win it fairly, you know? Like, do it the right way.

Look, let's be real—the FIA definitely plays favorites with Ferrari. That’s just how it is, and honestly, it probably always will be. But even with all that bias, I don't think they're going to tilt the scales so hard that the championship stops feeling legit. It stays competitive enough. 🤷

Look, if you ask me, Lewis Hamilton deserved that penalty at Spa. It’s just how it is. He wasn't exactly playing it clean—he was cutting that chicane way too aggressively, like he had half a tire on the track or something. It reminded me of when Fernando Alonso pulled that move in Montreal back in 2007 to get past Nick Heidfeld, but honestly? This felt way more reckless and dirty than that. Just a messy bit of driving, if you ask me.

Man, you guys are seriously tripping over every little thing whenever a rule isn't applied perfectly. Look, I'm not even that kind of guy, regardless of how much I root for Ferrari...

I'm telling you again, I can't stand these theories. Every single one of these examples is just pure speculation about some "robbery," acting like the officials decided the entire championship over a measly four points. 🤷

And regarding Massa—he’s actually beaten everyone on the track in their head-to-head matchups, but obviously, nobody cares about that...

Yeah, Massa is trailing right now, but if things stay predictable in these next three races, I see him taking the win....
Because he's been absolutely dominating lately, but apparently, that's also a problem for you guys since his car is actually fast.

So, what exactly do you people think needs to happen for someone to actually earn a championship title??
Because it's never enough—it's wrong if Lewis Hamilton wins, and it's also wrong if they don't penalize him for some random reason...

I think the last time Ferrari actually got hammered by penalties was back in 2006 during that whole Schumacher era, and maybe a few other times since then, but my memory is honestly pretty shot on specific calls 🤷

I mean, look, Massa got hit with a black flag in Canada last year, so I’m really not buying into all these wild conspiracy theories...

Look, sure, the FIA is a total mess, and yeah, they definitely seem to have a soft spot for Ferrari. And let's be real, you know damn well Hamilton deserved those penalties himself—you just seem to love diving down the rabbit hole of conspiracies way too much...

Because what happened at Spa? That was a textbook penalty. The more I watch the replays, the more it just looks like common sense to me...
Since Kimi basically beat him at his own game. Hamilton has this habit of squeezing people out and leaving them zero room to breathe. He did the exact same thing to Massa and Pic much like how he handled Glock at Monza earlier this year, and he's done it a bunch of other times too. There's really nothing to whine about...

Nobody is saying you can't cut a chicane, but man, cutting it the way he did? That’s where you cross the line into trouble...
If you want me to dig up the footage to prove my point, just say the word and I'll get on it...

stormybadger8 said:So, even the Ferrari boss thinks the SC rule is absolute nonsense☕—and he’s right. I mean, how else can you describe it? You have one driver who pulls a massive lead by hitting his pit window just before the SC hits the track, jumping ahead of the slow Truo and Fizzik cars because they're essentially sitting ducks, only to be handed a stop and go penalty later. That penalty wipes out his entire advantage—an advantage built while the fastest cars on the track couldn't close the gap even if they tried—and drops him back to second. It’s absurd.😵

Don't get me wrong—props to both Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg🙏—but let's be real. Without that ridiculous rule and the sheer luck of timing their pit stops during those exact moments, they would've finished 4th or 5th, maybe even lower in those mid-field cars. Now, when it rains and a driver masters the wet, or a team nails a perfect tire change under pressure? That’s skill—that's calculated risk-taking. This? This is pure luck. It has nothing to do with actual racing.☕

I highly doubt he'd be complaining about the SC rule if things hadn't played out exactly this way...🙄

Now I actually do care because I want to see Massa take it, but the bottom line for me is that I want it done fairly...

The FIA leans toward Ferrari—that was true then and it’ll be true later—but not to the point where the championship loses its integrity.🤷

Lewis deserved that penalty at Spa. He didn't just clip the chicane; he cut it halfway through a wheel, unlike how Alonso handled that overtake on Nick Heidfeld in Montreal back in '07. This was just aggressive and dirty...

You guys are nitpicking every single little thing regarding whether the rules are being applied perfectly, and fine, but I’m not that kind of guy, regardless of the fact that I root for Ferrari...

I’ll say it again: I don't buy into these conspiracies. Every single example mentioned here turns into some grand theory about theft, as if the officials decided the whole season over a measly four points.🤷

As for Massa, he’s been the winner on track in all their head-to-head battles, but clearly, nobody cares about that...

Massa is trailing behind right now, but if things stay predictable in these next three races, I see him walking away with it...
Because he’s shown absolute dominance over the last few rounds, and apparently, that doesn't sit well with you lot just because he's in a fast car...

So, what exactly do you think needs to happen for a guy to actually win a championship?
Because apparently, it's wrong if he cuts Hamilton, and it's also wrong if they don't penalize him for some random reason...

Man, even if I think you're right about a lot of this, you're really starting to overstep...

We're talking about Massa here. I get that he's your guy and you're pulling for him, but there's one massive distinction to make. Unlike Alonso, Kimi, Hamilton, or even Kubica, Massa is a driver who operates with textbook precision. When a situation calls for a little extra "flair" or edge, he won't take it—not necessarily because he won't, but because he simply doesn't know how. He's shown that time and again.
When he starts from pole in the fastest car, sure, we might see him win—though after that last race, I have my doubts. But when he's stuck in a mediocre car or starting further back, Massa is useless. No tricks, no calculated risks, just cruising aimlessly behind slower cars. And you're telling me that's championship material? It's sad where Formula 1 has landed, having all these fast drivers but not giving them a fair shake.
He's just a tedious driver to watch, and since Formula 1 seems to be heading in that direction thanks to the nonsensical ideas of its bosses, I guess that's why we're even discussing Massa in the context of winning a title.

dustyhound said:Just look at the line Alonso took when he went off into the gravel... It would’ve been great if he’d stayed on track and still made it, and the guys driving behind him aren't blind or stupid. But whatever, he just cut the corner, who cares? 🙄
True, Nick Heidfeld ran over him, but you can tell he didn't really gain anything from it.

YEAH, Alonso is such an eyesore to me. I don't see him as much of a threat anymore, but I've always been Team Kimi. I've followed him since his Sauber days—and even back when Button was doing well during that Honda era.
I mean, I just can't stand the guy. From that annoying habit of waving his car at other drivers, to all the whining in front of the cameras, and then signing that McLaren deal right behind Flavio Briatore's back. Just shameful.
I don't get what was missing for him at Renault back then, considering he's a two-time world champion...
And look at that, he went right back to Flavio with his tail between his legs.

Again... YEAH, Alonso is definitely a thorn in my side.

Renault announced they were pulling out of Formula 1 at the end of 2007, so I don't know what else Alonso was supposed to do. Wait until the season ends just to end up on some B-team? He isn't an idiot! If anyone deserves to feel burned, it's him—Renault made a massive mistake that cost them a world champion for a whole season.

Arthur Doyle70 said:Look, man, I think you’re hitting the nail on the head with a lot of this, seriously. But sometimes... man, sometimes you just take it way too far. You really cross the line there.

Look, we’re talking about Felipe Massa here. I get it, you love the guy—he’s your driver and all that—but there's this one massive thing we have to address. Unlike guys like Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, or even Robert Kubica, Massa just drives with this super rigid, textbook approach. It’s almost too clinical, you know? Like he's following a manual to the letter. When things get messy and he needs to pull off something extra—that little bit of magic or grit to push past a limit—he just doesn't. And it isn't even a matter of him being unwilling or lazy; he's shown it plenty of times before. It’s more like he just doesn't have that specific gear in his toolkit. He simply doesn't know how to find it when the pressure is on.
If he manages to grab pole and actually gets the fastest car on the grid, yeah, maybe we’ll see him take the win—though honestly, after that last race, I’ve got some serious doubts about that. But if he’s stuck starting further back? There’s just nothing Felipe Massa can do. His team keeps handing him these incredibly slow cars, and there's no way around it. No clever tricks, no high-stakes gambles... just endless, soul-crushing laps spent stuck behind a bunch of much slower cars. And people really think that's how you build a champion? It’s honestly sad where Formula 1 has ended up. You've got all these insanely talented drivers out there, but they never even get a fair shot at proving themselves.
Man, he’s such a boring driver to watch. Honestly, and I really think this because of how Formula 1 is heading lately—it feels like her bosses keep coming up with these absolutely brain-dead ideas—we're out here talking about Felipe Massa in terms of winning championships. It just doesn't track.

Look, I get it, you're totally blowing things out of proportion here, but honestly? You probably aren't far off. The truth is likely somewhere right in the middle of both sides.

Look, if you had told me that back at the start of the season, I probably would’ve gone along with it. But let's be real about the situation right now—the guy is driving incredibly well. Whether you think he's being a total grindset obsessive or not, the bottom line is he's winning. And at the end of the day, isn't that the whole point of the fight? 🤷

Man, people are seriously delusional. Like, get this—Massa is out there dropping fastest laps left and right and nobody even bats an eye. It’s nothing to them. But then Kimi does the exact same thing? Suddenly it’s the shock of the century and everyone’s losing their minds. People are so weird about it.

Look, I get it. I know Felipe Massa has his flaws and I’m not trying to defend every single mistake he made, but man, people forget there’s a good side to him too. Honestly? I think fans today are just way too spoiled. It’s like, one minute you’re driving right behind Lewis Hamilton and your engine blows up, and suddenly you’re the hero of the world. But then, the next race, you don't pass a single soul even though you crossed the line in first, and everyone acts like it’s some massive tragedy. People are just fickle, you know?

I think we're all on the same page here... I always thought Kimi was pure class, you know? Like, the guy just had that vibe. But man, it doesn't matter how good the car is or how much tech they pack into it—if he’s not delivering, he’s just sitting there. It's frustrating as hell.

Look, I don't know about everyone else, but I’m not out here saying the guy is a criminal or anything. It just feels like Felipe Massa is constantly riding his back, whether he's being a total try-hard or not—I honestly can't tell. But man, looking at the big picture, he’s easily been the fastest one out there on the track this season. 🤷

Look, if I’m being totally objective here—and I really am trying to take the fanboy goggles off—there are maybe three or four guys who actually have a legitimate shot at the title. First up, you've got Felipe Massa. Honestly, the guy is driving like a machine lately. He’s just clinical, super disciplined, rarely makes a mistake on track, and he’s snatching wins whenever the opportunity presents itself. But man, it’s frustrating because his team is such a mess. He’s basically fighting the drivers and the pit wall at the same time; all those botched stops and that total lack of tactical coordination are just killing his momentum. It's like watching a great chef try to cook a five-star meal in a kitchen where nobody can find the salt.
Look, Lewis Hamilton is an incredible driver, seriously. He’s got that aggressive edge, but in a good way, you know? But sometimes that aggression trips him up—he gets a little too hot-headed and starts making mistakes because he's pushing so hard. He pulls off the win, sure, but that's about it. You also have to give him credit where it's due: his engine didn't blow up on him like it usually does. And let's be real, Ferrari's tactical calls were just a few steps behind. Total mess.

Man, everything you just said about Ferrari is spot on... honestly, just straight-up disaster driving. And the worst part? I have zero clue why. Like, I'm sitting here staring at the screen trying to make sense of it, but there's just no logic to it. It’s just total chaos.

Kubica’s got the raw talent, man, seriously. When he’s in a car that actually works, he looks like a beast. It's his time to shine, I really believe that, but he just can't seem to handle the heat when things get heavy. Like, at the start of the season, he was pulling off these killer starts and holding positions way higher than they should have been, but then the pressure hits and—poof—he’s sliding back. He keeps getting eaten alive by guys from McLaren and Ferrari. It's like watching a guy nail a perfect jump on a skateboard only to wipe out the second the crowd starts cheering too loud. Just can't find that composure yet.

Man, you're asking me to pick a champion when you're basically asking which flavor of chaos I prefer? It’s impossible. Honestly, none of these drivers are actually "complete" right now. Like, they all have these massive gaps in their game. You got guys who are fast but lose their cool, and others who are steady but just lack that extra gear when the pressure hits. It's like trying to pick a winner between three different types of unfinished projects. Just pick one? Nah, I can't do it. No one's truly got it all figured out yet.
I mean, look, I definitely need Alonso back in a top seat, but man, he’s stuck driving that Renault car which just isn't cutting it right now. Honestly? It’s kind of on him. He’s the one who picked this ride, so he’s basically stuck with the consequences of his own choices.
