Look... all I know is—if this had happened to anyone over at Ferrari—we wouldn't even be having this conversation!
#63 ·
If Sergio Pérez had pulled that off, everyone would be whining about how garbage the Ferrari car is and how they don't deserve it... probably because they've won way too much over the last decade and shouldn't bother this year either.
Meanwhile, some little English guy deserves the championship or whatever.
Robert Kubica deserves the title, not some little brat.

I know for a fact I wouldn't be writing that crap. I actually respect the other drivers. Besides, if anyone else was stuck in this spot and slapped with a penalty like this, they’d be losing their mind too. Honestly, the FIA is just driving me insane with their absolute stupidity at this point.😠

The absolute best driver out there? Honestly, it’s a debate that never ends, but if you want my two cents—and I’m happy to give it—it comes down to pure, unadulterated skill versus raw results. People love to argue about stats, but anyone who actually watches the races knows that numbers don't tell the whole story. You have to look at how they handle the pressure when everything is going south. It's one thing to win when you have a dominant car; it's another thing entirely to drag a mediocre machine onto the podium. That's where the legends are separated from the pretenders. kaže:
I'm with Ligav on this one—but honestly, what does any of that even have to do with anything?🤷
I don't know about you guys, but I'm thinking this kid is totally full of himself—acting like he’s some big shot while playing the innocent act here.
He drove me absolutely insane last year—especially when he kicked Ron Dennis to the curb. What a disaster.
Thinks he’s some kind of big shot... please.
The kid’s got raw speed, I'll give him that—but he lacks the killer instinct needed to actually take a championship.

Gle, I'm done... I really don't have the energy to argue with you. You have your opinion, and fine, defend it if you must. I have no idea what Hemi ever did to you to make you hate him this much—and honestly, I couldn't care less! But please, stop calling him names; nobody here wants to read that garbage.

Give me a break... look, I love Kimi, he’s an awesome driver and I’m honestly gutted he crashed today. If he’d actually won, I wouldn't have felt bad because he totally deserved it... but you gotta realize this penalty is just stupid. It's so vague, and honestly? It's way too harsh...
If this happened to any other driver, they’d be losing their minds too. I was never really a fan of Alonso, but even when he got penalized once, I thought it was total BS... and I spoke up. Some of these officiating rules just aren't right, and we've never seen stuff like this before. The 90s were pure gold for aggressive racing. This whole thing was exciting for us fans, but by acting like this, they're basically killing the drive to take risks. Everyone's just going to become these stiff, cautious drivers terrified of getting flagged... what kind of races will we even get then? Total garbage.

Exactly—that’s what I was getting at. Look, if I have an issue with someone (which I don't, really), it isn't because of personal bias—these guys are all pros—so I'm not going to trash them just because they aren't my favorite. But that FIA nonsense? Absolute insanity. I’d be losing my mind too if they had pulled that stunt with Sergio Pérez or anyone else. It’s the same reaction I had last year when Lewis Hamilton almost snatched the title because the FIA decided to disqualify two drivers who finished ahead of him at the Brazilian Grand Prix. So, easy there—not everyone is as cynical as you, placidsurfer9.☕

That whole FIA procedure is just a textbook example of how to turn an incredible race into pure, unadulterated idiocy—honestly, screw them.

But yeah, the FIA's stupidity? That's real. I'd be losing my mind too if it were Sergio Pérez or anyone else dealing with that nonsense. I felt the exact same way last year when Lewis Hamilton could've snatched the title because the FIA basically wiped out two drivers who were ahead of him during the Brazilian Grand Prix. So, yeah, we aren't all just haters like you think!☕
Precisely! 👍

The penalty feels overkill. I was expecting them to just call him into the pits immediately, or if they didn't do that, at least slap him with a 10-place grid penalty for the US Grand Prix - Miami. But look, he earned it. It’s not even about whether he cut the chicane—he didn't actually have to do that—it's just that there was zero chance he was going to get near Kimi or mount an actual attack. Since his team gained an advantage from it, it's punishable. He should've taken a second to think and just passed him at the next corner.🤷
#72 ·
The guy cut the chicane and wasn't let back in right away
that's why he got penalized
No Ferrari win or whatever matters here
People are talking about conspiracies and all this nonsense
Nobody would have cared if it happened to Button, for example, because he’s just fighting for position in a Honda

Jonathan Booth5 said:I am officially done with Ford International Assistance, Ferrari, Ferrari, AlphaTauri, Fabio Gross, Luca di Montezemolo, Luca di Grasi, Felipe Massa, Luca Badoer, Jean Todt, Michele Alboreto, Matthew Vujica, every single arrogant jerk over at Fleet Street, the whole Ambrosini crew, Maranello, the number one and two race cars, the entire Italian hall of fame, the Roman Empire, and this absolute joke of a sport that I’ve somehow been stupid enough to follow for thirty-three conscious years—and honestly, I’m probably too much of an idiot to ever stop.
Forza Ferrari, screw all of you.
Look, meddo, if you’ve actually stuck with Formula 1 for 33 years, you’d have some respect for Ferrari. They are hands down the greatest team in the sport; they have the most wins, and historically, nobody even comes close except maybe McLaren Mercedes. Do you even know what International Assistance is, you total amateur? What on earth do you have against di Montezemolo, di Grasi, or Todt? Who do you think you are, talking trash about a legendary team and its leadership and engineers like that? Who gave you the right to spit on something that most people on this forum consider sacred?
Regardless of everything that went down today with Lewis Hamilton and all the back-and-forth drama, writing something like that is just wrong... SO SCREW YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE WORLD! Seriously, screw your backward way of thinking. Get lost! Honestly, what do you even know about Formula 1, you clueless amateur? You’re just being arrogant and primitive. It’s pathetic, really. Just cover your head in shame, you absolute clown.
#74 ·
you fashionista, go screw yourself
you’re basically spitting on everything Ferrari stands for
shows real maturity... just like Lewis Hamilton

James Roberts87 said:I honestly thought they'd just call him into the pits during the race.
With any incident happening in those last five laps, they only figure out the penalty after the fact. Back during the 5/44 era, he would’ve been hit with a drive-through penalty. Now? He just gets a 25-second addition to his final time, which is how the rules work these days.

I mean, sure, that part is true, but where does it actually say what happens when you cut a chicane and overtake
someone who was right in front of you? Like, how much of a gap is even required? Honestly, the whole thing feels like such absolute garbage, just rigged from the start...
#79 ·
He's gotta clear the whole length of the race car... I don't see the issue here.
Go read the rulebook...

stormybadger8 said:That’s exactly my point. Honestly, watching this championship fight feels pretty pointless at this stage.🙂 It’s almost a joke. Why don't they just hand Max the Ferrari trophy for both the Constructors' and the Drivers' titles right at the start of the season? Let Ferrari decide who gets them this year, then they can stop messing around and we can actually watch a battle for third place. At least that would be worth watching. Ferrari could show up if they feel like it, but hey, as long as they secure both titles on day one, who cares?🤣 ☕ 🙄
Yeah, and that same "Max" basically stripped Michael Schumacher of his title when he got penalized during qualifying at Monte Carlo...
