I couldn't tell you for certain, honestly. All I know is the general rule of thumb is that you shouldn't be mailing liquids at all. At least, that’s what I was told, even though I’ve sent things as packages before by wrapping them up like crazyβ€”I mean, I wrapped mine like a hundred times just to be safe. Plus, I always make sure to ask them to slap one of those "Fragile" stickers on it.πŸ™‚

Look, I've shipped and received perfumes through USPS at least 30 times... only once did some girl pull a total idiot move by using a plain yellow envelopeβ€”the kind without any bubble wrap😲 and sent me a perfume, so obviously, it shattered..😒

Everything else has been totally fine: just stuff some crumpled up newspapers in there, put the bottle in the middle wrapped in paper towels or plastic bags... basically, the more padding, the better. If you surround the bottle with enough newspaper, it could drop ten times and still be fine. I haven't even marked my stuff as fragile, and everything I've ever sent arrived perfectly.

alright, thanks! πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Everything else went totally fine: just stuff the box with old newspapers to create a cushion and put the bottle right in the center, wrapped in paper towels or plastic bags... basically, the more padding the better and even if that box falls ten times onto a hard floor, it won't break. I haven't even bothered marking my packages as fragile, yet everything I've ever sent has arrived perfectly.

Quick question for you guys; I sent a COD package from Washington, D.C. to Washington, D.C. back on March 30th, and the guy is claiming he hasn't received it yet. It feels super weird to me because even when I ship stuff to places like Miami, it usually shows up within three days max. I don't know if it's actually possible for it to take this long. Honestly, I'm starting to think he just doesn't want to pick it up. 😠
Also, how long does it typically take for a package to get sent back to me, and am I going to get hit with extra fees if that happens?😒

Hmm.. I mean, it should've arrived by today if it was just going from D.C. to D.C... But, yeah, it's happened to me before where a package takes like a whole weekβ€”five business daysβ€”and since there weren't any holidays, maybe it just got stuck somewhere because of the holiday weekend or whatever..
If you dropped it off on the afternoon of the 30th, it probably didn't even leave the post office until the 31st (at least that’s how my local branch works). It should have hit his local station by April 2nd, which was already Friday.
You'll see today; at the latest, he should have gotten the notice by nowβ€”you know, that little yellow slip saying he needs to go pick it up.
But, darkmaker94, couldn't you guys have worked out a different way to handle this? In my opinion, you should ONLY do COD with someone you actually know...🀷

Just to cheer you up, here's what happened to me once when the other person insisted neither the package nor the notice had arrived:
Basically, the notice definitely arrived, but the mail carrier just shoved it into a mailbox overflowing with junk mail, so the guy just crushed it up and tossed it in the trash without even checking it. He didn't even bring it to his door...πŸ™„ So I went down to his local post office to check if the package was being returned (since they give you five business days to claim it), and sure enough, the package had been sitting there gathering dust for four days already...😁
Let me know how it goes; I know I go totally nuts whenever things get weird with the mail...

The package went out on March 30th about 12 hours ago, so it definitely left the post office that day.
I’ve never had any issues with cash on delivery before either; everything usually shows up within two or three days. 😒

Yeah, it should’ve shown up... like... you get a little slip when you drop the package off. Honestly, just call your local USPS office and ask them to track down what actually happened... I mean, I did the same thing once and they told me to head over to the main sorting facility in downtown New York City, specifically the parcel department, if I remember right. And man, this super sweet clerk there actually went out of her way to dig through the bins to see if it was sitting there... I gave her the whole rundownβ€”shape, size, even the color of the paperβ€”just to make it easier, and she really put in the effort and found it immediately. So then I sent someone else over to the NYC hub to pick up the package, because, like I said before, the yellow slip accidentally got tossed in the trash...

Yeah, I’ve got the confirmation right here. Just shot the buyer an email letting them know that if the package doesn't show up today, they should swing by their local USPS office to check if it's waiting there. We'll see what they say...

Angela Flores76 said:It really depends on what you were shippingβ€”because, strictly speaking, they aren't allowed to have perfumes or any kind of liquids in the mail, so they actually have every right to ask questions. πŸ˜‰

I honestly had no clue, so thanks for the heads-up. You really can encounter just about anything when dealing with the USPSβ€”it's unpredictable like that. If someone had just approached me with a bit of politeness, I wouldn't have thought twice about answering... but she was so incredibly condescending, acting like she held some high-ranking federal position or something. It immediately made me wonder if she even had the authority to be interrogating me like that in the first place. πŸ™‚

Hey everyone! Does anyone know if it's actually possible to put money onto a Mastercard? If so, what's the best way to go about it? 😁

I just pay myself since I already get a bill for my monthly amount anyway; I just copy over the account number. That’s for the credit card, though. I'm not sure if you can do that for a standard checking accountβ€”I don't think anyone would just hand out their card number like that.

Nah, it's actually my card that's the problem.

Just head over to that bank and make the deposit; you shouldn't have any trouble at all.

So, basically, I just walk in there, hand over the cash, and tell them I want to put it toward my Mastercard 😁 😊

I honestly don't see what any of this has to do with the postal service?! 🀷 😬

I have a question, and I would truly appreciate any assistance you might be able to offer. I sent an envelope containing some decorations to a friend last week, yet she insists it hasn't arrived. I chose to use standard USPS First-Class Mail, which seems a bit odd given that every other letter I have sent via the same method has reached its destination without incident. Now, I find myself wondering if there is any possible way to track where this specific letter might have gone astray. Part of me hopes my friend isn't being untruthful, though I would certainly feel better if I could verify the situation somehow. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? Thank you. 😒

There’s no way to verify it. It might not have happened, or they could just be lying.

Excellent 😒 and what would your specific course of action be if you found yourselves facing such a predicament? 😒

I haven't run into a situation like that yet. I usually just send everything via certified mail or as a standard package.
