I’m carrying quite a bit of extra weight, so my upper body is a total disaster zone (my waist is about 6'7" if we're being honest, haha). I'm 5'11" and roughly 220-225 lbs, currently 18 years old.

If I had to guess, I’ve probably still got about 8 or 10 pounds of stubborn fat left to lose, and honestly, it’s such a struggle to tone down my lower body... especially my hips and glutes. I don't quite have the courage to share any close-up shots just yet, but even though the scale is still a bit high, I can definitely see some muscle starting to show through...

Go get 'em, everyone!

Well, here I am again after nearly a full year of this grind, and now I’ve stumbled upon yet another "problem" to obsess over... Does anyone out there happen to know any effective calf-strengthening exercises besides the standard toe raises? To be perfectly honest, my calves feel somewhat underwhelming—actually, let's be real, they *are* underwhelming—and the lack of symmetry is starting to throw off my entire aesthetic. So, please, I am practically begging for your comments and advice 😉

Here’s a quick (okay, maybe a little bit showy) shot right after my workout. Muscles are feeling pumped, obviously. 😁

Here's a belly shot for Ashley Perez50 🙂

For the girls asking about glutes and legs... these photos are from 9 months ago. I haven't changed much; actually lost maybe a pound or two, but that's about it. There you go. 😁

So, here’s another shot of my legs—just a little follow-up to that thread about "how to slim down your calves." 🙂

Seriously though, if you've got any heart issues, maybe don't even bother trying this stuff.

I suppose it is worth mentioning that less than a year ago, I was weighing nearly 45 pounds more than I am currently; I managed to shed all of those pounds through consistent exercise rather than strictly cutting calories. And yes, I realize I still have cellulite, and I am fully aware that I still have quite a long way to go. 🙂

Here’s the latest update, and I’m actually feeling quite optimistic because I think I’ve dropped about four or five pounds since my last check-in... I was debating whether to wait just a little longer before posting any photos, but I figured why not, and this shot really highlights the definition in my shoulder and bicep area.
It’s been cropped a bit at the edges.

Good grief, look at all those muscles...😁

Getting ready for summer! 🙂 (Or at least trying to hit the gym twice a month when I actually find the motivation 😁 )

Unfortunately, an excessive amount of beer, pizza, burgers, and pastries has prevented me from seeing any actual abs. That’s why I’m snapping this right after my workout—I didn't even have time to take my gloves off.

These two are about a month old.

And these two: from about a year and a half ago, back when I was still playing basketball 😁 (explains why my arms are ripped but my chest is lagging)

Just figured it was time to introduce myself with a current update...
nearing the end of month two on this cut

standing at 5'10", 174 lbs, 17.2% body fat
Started out at 194 lbs, 21% body fat

Is this kind of an aggressive weight drop for just two months, or what?
The goal is to get under 15% body fat, so I'm sticking to a low-carb approach with protein intake sitting around 2.5g/kg

image

And here's one more for Gwen

image

I'm officially opening the floor for a contest to see who has the most masculine glutes 😁
Who's stepping up next?

I thought I would jump in here and join the conversation. I have been hitting the gym about three or four times a week for nearly two years now, yet I find myself feeling somewhat disappointed with my progress; muscle growth has been incredibly slow. I suspect I have identified the culprit, however, which is likely an insufficient protein intake paired with an excess of carbohydrates.
To give you some context, I weigh about 110 lbs at 5'4", and my primary goal is to build lean muscle mass while reducing body fat, specifically targeting the midsection and hips.
So, here are a few photos for reference:
http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/4770/pic5xr.jpg
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/1005/pic4xz.jpg
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/4558/pic3n.jpg
http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/46/pic2pn.jpg
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/996/pic1sf.jpg

P.S. My calves are my biggest struggle, as they just refuse to grow no matter what I do.😠

Here are today’s progress shots—compared to my very first ones, I am officially down 12 pounds! So far, my routine has been strictly running, though lately I've started incorporating the rowing machine to shake things up. I'm planning to hit the gym for some serious weightlifting once summer wraps up. In my own estimation, I still need to burn off about another 10 pounds of fat, and then I really want to focus on toning my glutes, arms... basically just building some muscle. Let me hear what you all think!

29 years old, 5'8", 165 lbs.

Training since February. I haven't touched a single supplement, and frankly, my diet is non-existent because I can't be bothered to track it.

My goal for the next month is to focus on definition.

P.S.

The lighting is terrible and the angle is awkward, which makes my chest look much smaller than it actually is. I'll try to get some better shots in the coming days.

Here is another one:

http://yfrog.com/7hdsc00897bxj

My arms look ridiculous with this uneven tan. Spent an entire day out in the sun and was too chicken to take my shirt off for fear of burning.

Back again with more updates. I dug up some old photos from last year, before I let myself pack on a bit more weight 😢 Basically, consider this my "before" shot—though, let’s be real, there was definitely food and drinks involved in these pics, but whatever. (God, some people have such weird ways of talking 😂)
image image November 2009. Honestly, just pretend you never saw these, thanks. That was actually the heaviest I've ever been... 135 lbs. Standing about 5'4".

The dietary shift really kicked in around... maybe the first or second month of this year? That's also when I started hitting the gym consistently (well, more consistently and way smarter than I used to
. The quality of these photos sucks, but here we go. I'm sitting at 120 lbs right now.

The goal now is building muscle—you know, getting that definition, especially in my arms and core 🙂
