Greetings from the back view 👋

I have to say, this is the part of my physique I’m actually most proud of. I don't have a before photo to show you, obviously—it didn't exactly occur to me to snap a picture while slouching with my shoulders rolled forward. If only I had been so thoughtful! 🙂

One from the back. 😁 This was taken a while ago, though I’ve put on a bit more mass since then.

Been lurking here forever and finally decided to drop my pics. I'm 5'5" and been training for a year, though before that, I was a total couch potato. 🙄
The struggle is real with my legs—they look huge in the photo—and my calves are so pumped that whenever I wear heels, there’s this massive dip. Some people think it's sexy, but I hate it. No matter what I do, they just keep getting bigger. 😠
I don't have a specific goal weight because I definitely don't want to be skin and bones; I want to keep my curves. But I really want slimmer legs, like Kim Kardashian, while keeping the booty. Open to any advice. For workouts, I mostly did the elliptical and Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred, but now I'm finishing up week 4 of P90X. Diet-wise, I eat clean as much as possible—mostly home-cooked stuff, tons of veggies, chicken, and fish—but I hit a candy bar at least once a week or I'd lose my mind. 😍

So, even after indulging in plenty of cake, pastries, pizza, and the occasional beer 🤷, here is my photo from my 17th birthday... I made a pact with myself that I had to make some real progress by the time I hit 17—so, I finally stepped on the scale and snapped a photo after nearly three months of work. Back then, I was sitting at 195 lbs, and now I’m up to 208 lbs at 6'5"... honestly, not a bad start 🙂)

26 years old, 5'9", 165 lbs...

Back when I started seven months ago, I was sitting at 200 lbs...

Just focused on eating cleaner, hitting my protein goals, and squeezing in home workouts twice a week...

Still got a ways to go though, gotta burn through this last bit of body fat before I can really start focusing on building up some muscle...

Here’s how I look after 6.5 months of running and hitting the 500-mile mark.
Not too shabby, though I know I can push it further.
I'm 5'6" and 115 lbs.
Before I started running, I was around 123 lbs and honestly in pretty bad shape.
Years of being a total couch potato (with those random few-month bursts of trying everything under the sun) definitely caught up to me.
Plus, I've had two pregnancies in the last five years.

The main thing bothering me is a little extra softness on my stomach. I really want to tone up my glutes and get some more muscle definition.
To make that happen, I've started focusing on my diet—which is definitely my weakest link—and hitting the gym for strength training.
We'll see if the progress shows by springtime!

Checking in to share my progress after 30 days on the grind.
A buddy of mine who lives at the gym set me up with a solid routine and showed me the ropes.

Total workouts: 14 (6 cardio sessions at roughly 45 mins each + 8 full-body lifts)
Height: 6'5"
Sept 29, 2013 - Nov 1, 2013
Shoulders: 47.2" -> 48.2"
Arms: 14.4" -> 14.8"
Waist: 37.8" -> 37.2"
211.6 lbs -> 209.4 lbs

My diet hasn't been great, honestly. I need to get serious about it next month.
For those of you who actually train regularly: how do these numbers look?
(The only supplement I touched was whey protein, strictly post-workout.)

After gorging myself on chocolate—honestly, I’m embarrassed by how much I was eating daily—this is where I’m at. Once the winter chill hits, I’ll probably swap the bike for the gym (though who knows if I'll actually find it fun or just end up back on my bike), and then I'll post updates once I stop overeating. 5'3", 109 lbs
The real issue is that I eat an insane amount of sweets—basically, my diet has zero healthy habits—so everything just goes straight to my hips 🙂. That's also why I never have any visible muscle definition, even though I feel firm to the touch 🙂

This was me when I was about five pounds lighter; the goal is to drop another six or seven.

This is the goal—not overly skinny, just enough definition in the abs. These are my summer photos.

Time I introduce myself properly..
Age: 35
Height: 6'2"
Weight: Unknown (I don't own a scale, and frankly, I don't think it matters much)

A little background:
I’ve never been completely out of shape, but I wasn't exactly an athlete either. Once I hit 30, I noticed a bit of a gut starting to form 😁 and since I'm naturally tall and thin, it just looked sloppy. About two and a half years ago, I started running. Between the running and eating light, I lost the gut and saw some abs, but then I realized I was just skinny. 😲

I don't have a "before" photo, but picture a Kenyan marathoner—strip away the dark skin tone and shave off some leg muscle, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what I looked like.🙂

About 6 or 7 months ago, I shifted my focus toward serious strength training. I gradually increased my caloric intake and dialed back the running once I realized that was the only way to actually make progress.

The goal is to spend until mid-spring focusing on heavy lifting and trying to pack on as much mass as possible (though it isn't going great), before eventually tapering the calories and ramping up the cardio again, which I genuinely enjoy.

Not me 😬

I'm about 5'5" and weighing in at around 125 lbs.
I spent years crushing cross-country mountain biking until an injury totally sidelined me, which actually led me straight into running. It's been my absolute go-to for five years now.
Fast forward to this past spring—I decided to switch things up and dive into heavy lifting! I’ve been hitting the dumbbells hard, and while I’ve dialed back my running mileage a bit, I’ve basically swapped long hauls for intense HIIT sessions and quick, explosive sprints.
Diet-wise, nothing crazy. I mostly just follow IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros), so I eat pretty much whatever I want, though I’ll definitely watch my portions if I’m grabbing something a little more indulgent.

Hey everyone... I know I’ve been MIA for a bit, so I figured I’d pop in and give you guys an update on how things are going... Basically, I was posting here about six months ago complaining that I just couldn't put on any weight no matter how much time I spent at the gym or how much whey protein I chugged. I ended up taking a five-month break over the summer, but now that I'm back in NYC, I've jumped right back into my training routine...
I'm about 5'8" and back on October 1st, I was only weighing in at 141 lbs... but now, thanks to eating like it's my job and hitting the weights, I'm up to 158 lbs and the scale keeps climbing every single day... I didn't actually hit the gym again immediately on Oct 1st, but I started a new eating regimen a couple of weeks later—basically just EAT EVERYTHING IN SIGHT... honestly, I didn't think it was even possible to pack on 18 lbs this fast since I've been stuck around 143 lbs for years... (I know it sounds wild because, for example, my girlfriend can eat one slice of cake and instantly gain a pound, whereas I have to eat six full meals a day plus snacks like chocolate and chips just to see the needle move)
Anyway, I'm officially in bulking mode and aiming for 176 lbs, so I'm not even thinking about my abs right now 😛 Once I hit that 176 mark, maybe then I'll look into cutting down.

this is just relaxed

A little bit of bicep and back gains here! I think it’s finally starting to look like all those hours in the gym are actually paying off. 😬

Still got a long way to go, though.

By the way, I should probably show you the leg situation too... 😬

So, here’s a little demonstration of what happens when you actually love sports—and the inevitable consequences that come with it. 😍 You take your bike out for a ride up a steep hill, then try to fly back down the other side, lose control because you braked too hard, and end up eating asphalt head-first. 🤣

Greetings, fellow fitness enthusiasts 😁
I find myself in need of a bit of guidance, so I thought I would reach out to this community to see if you might share some wisdom. To give you some context, I am 24 years old and I am constantly engaged in some form of physical activity, though my intensity levels tend to fluctuate quite a bit from week to week 😁. While most of my recent efforts have been relatively casual, I have decided—much like making a New Year's resolution—that it is time to transition into a much more rigorous and intense training regimen.
To provide a visual representation of where I currently stand, here is a description of my physique 🙂
http://www.zaslike.com/files/toxhd6pab8at5cld1jk.jpg
As it stands, my workouts are strictly home-based; I primarily focus on core exercises, pushups, dips, and I do own a bench press. Given these constraints, I am curious to know if it is truly possible to make significant progress with just my upper body, and if so, what kind of results I might realistically expect. Furthermore, I would be deeply grateful for any advice regarding structured programming—essentially, how to organize my weekly routine to ensure effective progress 🙂. Oh, and one small detail: I didn't include a photo of my legs, but they certainly aren't spindly, so there is no concern about building a massive upper body only to be left with legs that look like toothpicks 🙂
Naturally, I am also very interested to hear your honest assessment of my current physical condition 😁
Thank you all in advance for your time and assistance 🙂

Back to the bulking phase again... I guess I'll try to cut down to 9 or 10% body fat by the time summer rolls around.

So, after being forced into a four-month hiatus because I actually got sick—turns out you can't just muscle through everything, right?—I’m finally getting back into the gym.
I dropped about 15 pounds during that downtime, so my first order of business is clawing that weight back.
Beyond that, I'm really looking to tighten up my chest and core area.

Good luck to everyone out there crushing it!
