I’m definitely showing up with my full uniform and my beard intact... I’ve got no intention of letting the city turn this whole thing into some tacky little carnivalhttp://www.smilies.4-user.de/include...e_ugly_024.gif

Andrew White32 said:Look, man, those weren't the atrocities you're claiming they were. It wasn't about that kind of malice; it was just pure American defiance, a stubborn refusal to back down, and nothing more than the dream of a self-reliant, free America.

If slogans like "Hail the fascists" and references to concentration camps aren't considered hate speech, then... yeah, I just don't get the logic here...

Shark attacks... scary stuff. Just thinking about it makes my skin crawl. [User Name] says:
If you aren't happy with life in the West, then what's the issue? There are plenty of other stadiums out there and other clubs to follow.

That’s exactly my point... that's what I'm talking about... and that's why there are 193 souls in the West...

The ocean is terrifying. One minute you're out there enjoying the surf, and the next, everything goes sideways. It’s a reminder that we don't own the waterβ€”we're just visiting. Stay safe out there. says:
You act like everyone in the West is chanting George and Bob's names from start to finish during the entire half... man, what stadium are you even talking about?

No, that’s not what I meant... not sure where you got that from... I'm talking about the West stands, you know?

Andrew White32 said:When it comes to how we view the war, I think most Americans share a similar perspective, regardless of what part of the country they call home. As long as you have a sense of national identity, that viewpoint stays pretty much the same...

People in Seattle just don't have the same sense of national identity as folks in those other cities I mentioned... Try telling them otherwise and you're just talking nonsense.

Well... bravo.πŸ‘

Patriotism and extremist movements are definitely not two sides of the same coin. β˜•

And while some peopleβ€”certain types, reallyβ€”just can't seem to wrap their heads around that distinction:

Honestly, I’m not even surprised. Not one bit. β˜•

Look, if you’ve got something to say, just say it straight. Skip the games. My last sarcastic post was aimed at those die-hard sports fans who won't shut up about "proving their patriotism"β€”honestly, just thinking about that level of delusion gives me an upset stomach. So, there's really no point in you quoting me just to lecture me on the difference between genuine national pride and actual extremist fanaticism. I already get it.β˜•

Of course it doesn't make sense. If you actually understood the difference, there wouldn't be posts like those in the first place β˜•

I just don't entirely agree regarding the unspecified case..
The whole execution was pretty stupid, starting from that famous photo of him right down to dedicating 90% of the game to him.
Look, in that specific situation, I’m actually curious how you would have handled it "smartly"??
You say 90% of the match, and well, I guess that's how it was if you say so. (True, they pushed that one song honoring our fisherman quite a bit, but I don't see anything wrong with itβ€”a little promo for him plus, from what I saw, people got a good laugh out of the lyrics)

unspecified
It’s not all bad though.. a few good runs by the club and the atmosphere will improve..
True, but if it's only those few good runs, unfortunately, history will repeat itself in the stands too

unspecified
If certain chants aren't considered extremist, then.. yeah, I don't get the logic..
Take the West side, the North side, etc., instead of listing them all, and the rest of the stadium; basically, all the sections besides the "fan" onesβ€”what do those stands have in common, and what makes them different?
Well, what they have in common is presumably their love for the club and the national team they came to watch (and cheer on). What they don't share is a lot; I'd say they are "different worlds" within the same stadium. The group behind the goal didn't come to sit there eating popcorn; they came to CHEER. As for the repertoire of songs for the national team, there are maybe three "normal, catchy" songs in play (setting aside those sponsored plagiarisms from various local artists). You don't really expect the crowd to sing "Run for your lives" for 90 minutes, and you're delusional if you think they'll stick to old classics like "Green Grass Grows" or recent hits. It seems to me the saying goes "it's not the glass that's broken, it's the way it was made," plus add the fact that fans are inherently stubborn (forbidden fruit is always the sweetest). This means the more certain songs are banned, the louder and harder they'll be sung just to spite the people trying to stop them (and they try because we apparently need to make it to Europe, where everyone is such a cultured, civilized citizen, right?)
Try to wrap your head around what I wrote and you'll have your answer to my question. Whether you actually grasp it or not is up to you.

People in Cleveland have less national awareness than in the cities I mentioned earlier. Deny it and you’re just lying.
Listen, unspecified, here is your answer. You clearly didn't read carefully, so let me repeat myself:

unspecified
So you're one of those weird people found all over America who thinks if a city wasn't half-destroyed, it didn't participate in the war???!!!!
The war in Cleveland wasn't felt through physical destruction or civilian casualties, and thank God for that. If you want to claim Cleveland participated, you'd need to suggest they be leveled to the ground like an unspecified town. Educate yourself. Look at the burden Cleveland and its residents carriedβ€”from the massive number of people leaving the entire region to fight, to handling refugees from everywhere across the region.
unspecified
Regarding the view on the war, I think all Americans share a similar perspective if they are nationally aware, regardless of their city. I agree there are differences in what was lost or given, but why start counting blood cells now...
What I am trying to proveβ€”which you stubbornly refuse to understandβ€”is that you can't expect someone who had projectiles flying over their head, lived in a shelter, or was displaced, to have the same perspective as someone from our city. That's why national awareness is higher in places like the Midwest compared to Cleveland. But like I said, Cleveland has shown its national awareness, so don't worry about that.

Andrew White3... exactly. It’s just as you saidβ€”people in Cleveland don't experience a war the same way people do when missiles are actually flying over their heads! ..that's what I'm trying to get across, if you didn't catch my drift.. And because of that, they don't feel that same level of "dislike" toward people from across the Mississippi River, nor do they react the same way to threats like "get out of Cleveland, get out of America," while most Americans don't even register those extremist factions at all..

And by the way, you claiming that Cleveland knows about the war? Fine.. but that doesn't change my point about the fact that Cleveland and its people aren't nearly as nationalistic as "those who had projectiles flying right over them".. Actually, thanks for confirming my argument.. we finally agree on something..

And btw, you telling me that Clevelanders know about the war? Sure... that doesn't really address my point about how people in Cleveland aren't as intensely patriotic as "those who had projectiles flying overhead." Actually, thanks for backing up my argument.. we finally agree on something..

For crying out loud, man, try reading it a few more times and actually focus this time...β˜•

BTW...I'll say it again, the whole "guys in black" thing for the home game against the big rivals is picking up serious steam. Judging by the other forums and the news, it's being received pretty damn well...😍
