crimsonstag84 said:You could always list $500 as your starting price. Honestly, it’s probably worth at least a hundred bucks less than that.

Thanks so much! 😁

I was hoping someone might give me an honest assessment of this rig. It’s been used by my ten-year-old for the last three years, and honestly, it hasn't missed a beat—everything still runs perfectly without any issues.
To be fair, the "tech experts" who originally put this together decided to install a 32-bit version of Windows on this machine, which seems like a rather questionable choice to me, but I suppose it is what it is.

An unspecified Mid Tower case
- ASUS M4N68T Le V2 motherboard
- AMD Athlon ii x4 640 Socket AM2
- VTX3D Radeon HD 4650
- 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM
- Western Digital WD Green WD10EARS 1TB 5400 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5
- MS PRO 550 ATX P4, 550W power supply
- Original Windows 7 (32-bit)

CPU: i5-3300 Ivy Bridge quad Core socket 1155 LGA
MBO: Intel DB75EN RAM
RAM: 1x8GB Kingston HyperX
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT640 HDD
HDD: Seagate 1 TB
Case: Some kind of Mid Tower case
PSU: Cougar SL-500w
So, I was wondering what this rig would go for? And how much if I threw in the monitor—it's a 22" Philips full HD
The whole thing is about 3 years old, give or take
Thanks a ton for any help

Greetings to everyone.
I am looking to sell my computer to fund the purchase of a more capable machine. I am uncertain regarding a fair asking price, so I am turning to this community for guidance. The specifications are as follows:
Processor: Intel Pentium G630 DualCore 2.7
Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-M LX2 R2
Graphics Card: Intel hd Graphics 1000
RAM: DDR3 4.00 GB (3.7GB usable)
HDD: 500.0GB
Optical Drive: LG DVD/CD-RW

Thank you.

Maybe $267.

You could probably hang onto the HDD, RAM, and the burner for a new build, which might give you a bit more wiggle room for the other parts 😉

So, what's the move?

For $300, I'd grab an i5 processor, then for $67, maybe toss in another 4GB of RAM. You’d end up with a pretty solid rig that probably only trails the latest i5 by a tiny margin. Plus, your other parts aren't even that old yet.

If you're looking to game, just slap a GPU in there. If your power supply is junk, swap it out, and if you want the whole thing to actually feel snappy, get an SSD.

I'm looking for a bit of an assessment on this particular build:

CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q8200
MBO: ASUS P5KPL-AM
GPU: HD6850 1GB DDR5 256bit
RAM: 4GB (2x2) DDR2 800MHz
PSU: Corsair CX430
HDD: 250GB SATA
CASE: MS, featuring two additional Cooler Master 80mm fans mounted at the rear, plus one 80mm fan with a blue LED on the side panel

Nothing besides the power supply is under warranty (though I believe the PSU itself is covered until April 2016)... Thanks.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if you tech enthusiasts could give me your thoughts on my PC setup—I picked everything up back in June 2011 from Micro Center

GPU: Gainward GTX 570 GS, 1280 MB
CPU: Intel i5-2400 1155, 3.1 GHz, 7 MB cache
CPU cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
RAM: 8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series, DDR3 1600 MHz, 2x4GB kit
HDD: 1000 GB Western Digital Caviar Blue, Sata3, 32 MB cache, 7200 RPM + 500 GB Samsung Spinpoint F3, SATA, 16 MB cache, 7200 RPM—so about 1.5 TB total storage
Motherboard: Asrock P67 PRo3, iP67
Case: LC Power PRO-919B Aequitas, Mid Tower, black (transparent left side)
PSU: Scythe Stronger 700 W, SPSN-070, 140 mm fan
Plus two extra fans—one Scythe and one Sharkoon

Everything runs perfectly smoothly—I haven't really run into any issues at all, and I guess I’ve been a bit obsessive about maintenance... as you can probably tell by all the extra fans and cooling, though maybe I overdid it a little because I had this whole phobia after my old rig used to overheat constantly about ten years ago

I've never actually tried overclocking anything

Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, I was wondering, what’s a fair market price for a year-old Sapphire HD 7970 3GB OC with Boost? Also, how does it stack up against the R9 280 x—if you were in my shoes, which one would you actually go for?

I'm assuming the CPU, motherboard, RAM, and power supply are all still under warranty.

Maybe $533 if they've still got about half their coverage left.

Prices for brand new click components are currently click. Now the real question is how much you can shave off when buying used gear without a warranty—I’d say you should aim for at least 1/4 or 1/3 of the retail price

Exactly. Offer them a discount; if they won't budge on fifty bucks, just tell them to take a hike. Honestly, you might as well just grab this latest processor instead—you wouldn't even notice the difference
