I mean, protein powders are basically just a super quick, easy, and cheap way to get more building blocks into your system, I guess.

Wait, so I’m hearing rumors that you can actually buy protein in effervescent tablet form now????????????????
😬

I've noticed some protein supplements coming in pill or tablet form, so I have to ask—what's actually the difference?

Alright, you most likely ran into some amino acid tablets; there's actually a liquid version of those too.
Typically, these consist of a blend of whey isolate, whey concentrate, and free l-amino acids. These tablets usually contain zero fat and zero carbs.
There is a pretty significant difference between using "powder" versus taking tablets.

The big difference is that those tablets are usually just amino acids for overnight recovery or milk-based proteins,
whereas whey powder is whey, and if the tub says casein, it's casein—which is also that slow-digesting overnight stuff.
The real headache with the tablets is that there's only about 2 grams of protein per pill, so you'd basically have to swallow a handful of them every night, which just sits heavy in your stomach and they're tough to digest... honestly, most bodybuilders don't even mess with them anymore. They'll stick to casein before bed, or better yet, just grab some cottage cheese or tuna.
So yeah, forget the pills. If you want, I can sell you some I have lying around—they've been sitting for a few months. My buddy learned the hard way and ended up buying nearly 350 tablets.
If anyone wants them, I'll let them go for half price. At the local $83 shop, I'm offering them for 120.
They aren't bad at all, though my buddy doesn't use them anymore since he cooled off on the bodybuilding thing, and I personally just stick to tuna or light meals at night.
Here’s the info:
AMINO 2700/350 tabs (Universal)
AMINO 2700 is a high-performance amino acid blend designed to maximize muscle mass metabolism. The "2700" refers to the fact that each tablet weighs 2700 mg, with 70% being pure amino acids and the remaining 30% consisting of binders and fillers. These are formulated to digest slowly over 6-8 hours while you sleep, ensuring your body has enough raw material to build and maintain muscle tissue. AMINO 2700 contains both free l-amino acids and peptide-bonded l-amino acids. These are derived from pharmaceutical-grade lactalbumin, allowing for faster assimilation into the muscle tissue. These amino acids are entirely natural and act as natural anabolics. They are essential for building solid muscle during growth phases and maintaining it later on, serving as the fundamental building blocks for muscle tissue. All physiological processes related to sports performance rely on this amino acid chain: exercise leads to energy, which leads to recovery, which leads to muscle gains.

If you happen to wake up in the middle of the night, taking one more tablet is fine—but I definitely don't recommend waking yourself up just to take supplements, because interrupting your sleep actually messes with your muscle recovery.

I’m not even sure where this belongs, so I’ll just dump it here since basically everyone obsessed with protein powders spends half their life at the local gym anyway.
Let's talk about MRSA.
I remember seeing this segment on the Oprah Winfrey Show a while back... it's a legit life-threatening bacteria if you don't catch it early enough. The scary part? It’s resistant to almost all the standard antibiotics you'd normally reach for. You'll find it hanging out most often in locker rooms.

So, here’s my situation: I’m 16 years old, standing about 5'10" and weighing around 187 lbs. I’ve been hitting the gym for a little over a month now, but before that, I spent five years playing water polo. I’ve already got a solid base of mass, but my real goal is to pack on as much muscle as possible. With that in mind, should I start incorporating protein supplements into my routine—and if so, which ones? I’ve been looking at Dymatize ISO-100, which seems like a pretty solid choice to me. Do you guys have any other recommendations or advice? Also, would it be worth pairing those proteins with something like glucose or a similar supplement?

And should I be taking them if my main goal is just building muscle mass?? (meaning I want to hold steady at around 185 lbs, maybe even drop a few pounds of fat along the way)

Has anyone else placed an order with Pronutrition lately? I put mine in two weeks ago and still nothing... whenever I give them a call, it’s the same old story—"Oh, we'll get it to you in a few days." Honestly, it's such a joke. Grrrr.

Just grab some whey protein and some glucose. That’s pretty much the blueprint. Hit yourself with maybe 40-50g of whey and roughly 70g of glucose after your workout—give or take, depending on how much you actually weigh.
Honestly, go do some homework. Google stuff about bulking, cutting, nutrition, all of it. I really don't feel like typing out a massive essay right now because there's a whole world of info out there, and let's be real—no single meal plan or training routine works perfectly for everyone. Everyone's body is different based on genetics, metabolism, and who knows what else. Just make sure you master the fundamentals first, then tweak everything to fit your own specific needs.

Loading up on chicken, fish, and high-quality protein supplements could be a total game-changer for folks dealing with brain injuries. It basically helps offset that massive, sudden drop in the l-amino acids the brain desperately needs to recover.
So, if you take a hit to the head (or get shot, for dramatic effect), just chug some whey and everything will be fine, right?

I’d love to get an assessment from anyone who actually knows their stuff here:
Are these proteins any good? I'm a vegetarian, if that matters, and I've finally decided to start hitting the gym.😉
Thanks!

You're better off grabbing a 2lb tub of Dymatize. It'll save you some money. Generally, you want to aim for those larger sizes—it's like buying in bulk at Costco. Shopping online is usually the way to go.

Is this the other link you mentioned? I'm a little short on cash right now, so I think I'll just grab the smaller pack for now and then upgrade to the bigger size once I've finished this one. 😉
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, I'm heading out to pick them up right now. 😉
