Alright folks, what’s the verdict on the quad? I'm seriously considering picking one up myself.

Well, what impressions can I really have other than saying it’s all quite impressive? We are looking at entirely new technology here—a fundamentally different way for a user to interface with their machine. To be perfectly honest, this is all still somewhat foreign territory to me, as I am still spending the vast majority of my working hours on an old Pentium 4 with Hyper-Threading. I can tell you from experience that the performance gap there is nothing short of staggering. As for how this compares to a Core 2 Duo, I cannot say for certain since I haven't had the opportunity to test it myself; that machine is currently being utilized by our IT specialist. Since we run the air conditioning, the ambient room temperature stays steady between 75 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and because he handles most of the heavy lifting on that unit, I am not constantly hovering over it. That said, the CPU temperatures seem somewhat peculiar. Core 0 through 3 are sitting at 116, 116, 113, and 116 degrees Fahrenheit—it's hard to say if that is ideal or not. It caused me a bit of concern initially, but a colleague suggested it might just be a quirk of the core architecture. It seems to be behaving adequately for now, though perhaps I should install a newer version of Everest to see if the readings change.

Raymond Hernandez14 said:Heh, I didn't just stop at a dual setup... I actually went with a quad, but we can get into that later. A drill and a skull popped into my head just a moment ago, so I started working on this... though it’s far from finished:

It would honestly look better if it were, say, the Mercedes-Benz emblem (the one on the hood). Unless, of course, you aren't a fan of Mercedes-Benz...

I suppose I could explain, but then the mystery would be gone... haha. This particular piece is a one-of-a-kind creation. I have quite a few ambitious projects lined up for the future; for instance, I’ve actually started designing my own custom decals. Consider this just a preliminary test run:

Suppose we want to envision the final result looking something like this... once I iron out a few minor details, the front kit will be officially complete...😁

It’s stupid. Get rid of that red stuff under the sign and those labels. What’s the point?

Well, first off, let's be honest—this photo doesn't even capture the full picture; in person, the build looks significantly better than this... as for those two stickers, well, I have a certain vision for a stereo setup, hehe
And besides, if you actually manage to pull off a project like this using nothing but basic craft scissors, definitely give me a shout!!!

And hey, if you actually manage to build something like this using nothing but basic hand tools, let me know!

Look, I didn't say your stickers were ugly. I said having two of them looks tacky. My first thought when I saw the pic was how good the individual stickers looked... 👎 :asshole:

I see... alright, if that is how you choose to view it. I was merely offering a bit of levity; after all, one's preferences are entirely subjective, and tastes vary wildly from person to person. Besides, I wouldn't presume to call myself an expert capable of executing such technical maneuvers. In my estimation, the current setup is quite impressive—especially since the critiques come from those who have actually laid eyes on it!

I am absolutely fed up with this shop out in Memphis. It’s been two weeks since I ordered a potentiometer, and they still haven't managed to deliver... total incompetence on their part. Honestly, if you're looking at LUNIS, just stay far away from them 🙂.

It looks like I’ll have to drive down to the Micro Center myself just to be safe... might as well pick up a new hard drive while I'm at it.
nice

Another new hard drive... interesting... but honestly, if you had just given me a heads-up, I could have easily picked up a potentiometer for you while I was already out in Memphis twice since then!

Greetings. While conducting some research online, I happened upon an incredibly intriguing website that serves as an archive for various images related to PC Modding... It truly covers a vast spectrum of styles. I found myself quite taken aback by the sheer amount of effort individuals invest into such meticulous craftsmanship; the level of detail appears nothing short of flawless. In any case, I shall provide the link here so you may evaluate the quality for yourselves:

An absolutely massive collection (definitely not for those still stuck on AOL), but it’s got everything you could need...

Regarding my potentiometer; I finally placed the order. But get this—it's only available in Cleveland, and they're telling me it'll take two weeks just to ship it out to the Department of Defense in Indianapolis!??!?!!?! Can you believe the logistics on that?
As soon as I get it installed in the rig, I'll snap some photos and upload them...

Just bumping this thread since it actually drifted all the way to page three.

Oh, and my http://www.thermaltake.com/product/A...2349/a2349.asp arrived today. 🙂 I just finished the installation, and man, it looks STUNNING.

I'll post a photo tomorrow...

I’m running a bit behind schedule; I ran into some massive headaches while trying to get everything connected (which actually forced me to tear it all down again yesterday just to reposition the sensors), but I finally managed to get it up and running... so here we go
(The quality is pretty rough since I don't have a dedicated digital camera, just my phone 🙂 ), but you can still make out the progress!

How much does this run, if you don't mind me asking? Shoot me a DM. 😁 I was just checking out this thing on the Thermaltake site and honestly, where do you even start? Can I actually pick one up at Best Buy?
I'm currently running a Corsair AF Series Fan Kit, but it's missing the digital display. 😬

Impressive work. This is genuinely interesting, and I have to say, you’ve hit the nail right on the head. You are exactly the kind of person we need in this space.

It wasn't available at HG. I ended up sourcing it from VE-MIL, and even then, I was stuck waiting 12 days for the delivery!!!! And the price $100 (though honestly, it’s more about how elegant it looks than the cost 👍)

By the way, regarding that desk you have... what kind of socket does that mount go to? Actually, what's the width of the part you're screwing onto the CPU passive heatsink? (I think you know what I'm getting at here...). Maybe you could sell it to me, or just tell me where I can pick one up. On a side note, I'm currently selling a Corsair star Force A2268, 90mm.
