Just tuck them behind the drive cage or in the optical bay...😉

Alternatively, do what I do: grab some split loom tubing—it costs next to nothing—slit it open, and slide the cables through (check the link below). Those power supply cables are a nightmare to hide otherwise.

The internal configuration consists of a Dual Core e6420 2.3 clocked at 3.2ghz, 2GB of OCZ Platinum XTC 800mhz RAM, an OCZ 600W power supply, a Leadtek WinFast 8800GTS with 640MB, a 320GB Seagate HDD, and a Big Typhoon VX cooler.

The gap between that side panel fan and the Big Typhoon is roughly an inch, and as a result, my temperatures have dropped by a significant 7 degrees.

But that 10-inch vent👍 is bound to collect dust constantly... what kind of temps are you seeing now??

Yeah, you definitely have at least one 5.25" bay left over somewhere.

Everest is showing me 34 degrees on the first core and 35 on the second—though I know for a fact it can dip down to 29. When I'm just idling and not actually gaming, the GPU diode is sitting at 55 while the GPU itself is at 46.

This OCZ power supply is a total nightmare to work with—the wires are incredibly stiff and stubborn because of those mesh sleeves they wrapped around them.

I can't even mount it behind the hard drive cage since my fan is already built right into the cage itself.

Since I used some cheap, low-end spray paint on my PC modding project, I’ve been thinking about how to toughen up the finish and make it more scratch-resistant. My plan is to hit it with several layers of clear coat!?!?!?!? What do you guys think—is this actually doable... and what kind of results should I expect?

I don't have any hands-on experience with this, but honestly, I can't see why it wouldn't be doable.

I'm going to test this out on the side panel I swapped for plexiglass. I'll check back in tomorrow around 8:00 AM and post a photo...

It won't necessarily provide much of an advantage here... its primary function is simply to add luster to whatever surface you're coating. Personally, I would opt for applying a matte finish first and then moving on to the clear coat. That approach offers significantly better protection against scratches—I’ve tested it myself, and it holds up much more effectively. 😉

Hey,
this post isn't actually about my specific build...
I’ve been browsing various tech forums lately and noticed there are entire sub-forums dedicated just to PC Modding. It honestly surprised me that on our US community boards, we only have this one single thread for it. However, over time, the engagement here has climbed steadily, hitting about 5,500 views—averaging over 20 hits a day, which is quite significant (though obviously not compared to the sheer volume of the lifestyle or adult sections). Since PC Modding is a specialized niche of computing that keeps attracting a larger audience as time goes on, I decided to reach out to one of the admins ( Eladio ) and ask him to pin this as a >Top-topic<. In my opinion, it deserves that spot right alongside the site rules and Overclocking.
A huge thanks to -Eladio- for agreeing to my suggestion.

My hope is that by pinning this, it stays front and center for readers, hopefully inspiring an even wider circle of enthusiasts to take their rigs and turn them into absolute masterpieces.

Alright, here’s my take on all of this!
A PC isn't bad if you handle the PC Modding exactly how you want it—it might not be "pretty" by some standards, but who cares? At the end of the day, it’s about what’s under the hood—the CPU, motherboard, GPU, RAM, and so on. All those neon lights, plexiglass panels, and other gimmicks are just unnecessary clutter...😉
The case is just a case... basically just a hunk of plastic. There—that’s my two cents on the matter. Since this is your thread, I’ll stay out of your way and let you run with it... so there you have it. Cheers...😉

Honestly, Mike, you’re speaking as if you’ve never even laid eyes on PC Modding before... give me a break. And what on earth is that supposed to mean, "since this is your topic, I will bypass it in a wide arc"? What kind of nonsense is that?

A computer isn't going to fail just because you decide to do some PC Modding to suit your own style...it’s certainly not going to suddenly become a work of art...but what do you actually gain from that? At the end of the day, it’s all about the guts of the machine...you know, the CPU, the motherboard, the GPU, the RAM, and all that good stuff...all those flashy neon lights, acrylic panels, and various other bits of nonsense are just extra baggage...😉
The case is nothing more than a case...it's really just a basic hunk of plastic...Anyway, there's my take on things...and since this was your topic to begin with, I'll make sure to give it a wide berth next time...so yeah, that's about it...cheers...😉

I am right there with you on this one, honestly...as far as I'm concerned, I just want a big enough chassis with solid airflow, and that should be plenty...those little blinking lights are basically just toys for kids, much like any other senseless gadget designed solely for looks 😁

A computer isn't worthless if you customize it to your own taste. It may not be aesthetically perfect, but what does that actually matter? At the end of the day, it is the internal components that count—the processor, the motherboard, the GPU, the RAM, and so on. All those various neon lights, acrylic panels, and other trifles are simply unnecessary...😉
The case is just a case... nothing more than an ordinary piece of plastic. There, that is my perspective on the subject. Since this is your topic, I shall give it a wide berth... and that is all from me. Best regards...😉

Is it not pleasant to look at a modded PC—a truly authentic custom build? Is that not preferable to looking at an ugly hunk of plastic that is barely noticeable within its housing?
Is it not better to see this rather than that?

To be honest, I don't even pay attention to that!
The only reason I care is because of how the case is going to look!
But you aren't even looking at the case...🙄
Hey, look—to each their own!
I don't know, PC Modding just seems kind of pointless to me... you tune up cars, not computer cases...😁
Though, I'll admit, I do love seeing a beautifully modded build!

Lawrence White7, isn't it better to know you have this, rather than this inside...

Some people live for the rain, others crave the sun, and some couldn't care less about the weather because they're focused on what's happening inside—while others only care about appearances. It is what it is. I see no reason to get into a heated argument with you just because you don't value external aesthetics. Honestly, just don't open this topic; don't even start a debate about it. It’s as pointless as arguing whether AMD is better than Intel or vice versa.

Lawrence White7, nice analogy.

Hey everyone!
I got really into PC Modding about six months ago—just started messing around with my rig, but it’s still a work in progress... I'll post some photos once everything is finally finished. Been reading through the posts here and man, some of these builds are incredible. Huge thanks to whoever decided to start this thread...
