Oh, you precious little art students... I’d love to throw a decent theorem your way just to give you something real to struggle with. 😈

I don't know, personally I couldn't care less about all that architectural nonsense—you know, the acroteria, triglyphs, metopes, architraves, abacuses, and stylobates... 😬

God, it reminds me of that Monty Python sketch where they’re all bickering over metopes and triglyphs... or even debating the Treaty of Versailles or Westphalia...🤣

Worst classes I ever had to sit through in college? Honestly, it’s like you’re reading my mind. Let’s see...

1. Intro to Urban Planning & Construction Law (the gold standard of misery)
2. Educational Facility Design (silver medal tier)
3. Mechanics (bronze medal—still got PTSD from that one)

Nicholas Perez33's top list is spot on. 😍

Carol Jackson45 said:My absolute least favorite subjects in college? It’s almost as if they were designed specifically to test my patience. Let me think...

1. Fundamentals of Urban Planning and Construction Law (the absolute gold standard of boredom)

I honestly think we should implement a rule where students aren't allowed to complain about electives they chose themselves...

...unless the curriculum changed mid-semester, of course. 😁

Here is my definitive list of the most nonsensical course titles in the catalog:

1. Eco-Logic of Sports Facilities (honestly—I still have no idea what that actually entails)

I just can't even... the others all hold a certain nostalgic charm for me. 😍

Oh, yeah, they definitely changed. It's a mandatory course by the ninth semester now. Attendance is required too, and Lipovac is there scanning signatures just to make sure nobody else is signing for us. Real high-class stuff, I tell ya. 🙄 🙄 🙄

:klap:

n-1. That final rehearsal right before a "big" gig? It’s almost always just a massive exercise in self-delusion—convincing yourself that everything is tight and the show will go off without a hitch. Yeah, right.
n. When your pedalboard dies, your power supply fries, or a cable snaps right in the middle of a set, reliable replacements are ALWAYS tucked away in the dressing room or the tour van. Whatever you think is enough backup to bring on stage is about as useful as a handful of sand in a hurricane when things actually go south.
n+1. Some promoter in some flyover town will ALWAYS try to sweet-talk you into believing their gear is brand new and perfectly functional. Total lie.
n+2. For the love of God, try not to forget the backup to your backup. For everything. Seriously. 😬

A real gold standard, I suppose 🙄 🙄 🙄

Well, here is yet another vote confirming that prestigious reputation.🙄

So, the very first entry on page one of my index—which I put there pretty much on purpose, obviously—was titled "On the Love Poetry of American Latinists."

I guess I'd also add that having backup gear is mostly useful and necessary precisely when you FORGET to bring it along! 😁

4. Drummers just can't express themselves properly.
5. The sound engineer is always right, even when they're dead wrong.
6. Arguing with the sound engineer is a terrible idea.
7. Befriending the sound engineer is a brilliant move, regardless of whether they're a total moron or a local legend.

4. Drummers aren't actually musicians, which is why they struggle with everything. They don't know how to set up their gear, they have zero clue what they should sound like, and the funniest part is when you suggest they try EQing their own snare drum—the result usually sounds exactly like a hand slapping a naked woman's butt.
5. Screw the sound engineer if they aren't right.
6. A very bad idea.
7. A very good idea.

Aha... so we're talking about that "n+2" redundancy principle, then? 😬

There’s still hope for me, though.
Just look at BB: take a drummer in a noise/no-wave band, for example.

Two things I’ve picked up from my years playing gigs

1. You can only have a truly great band if you’ve got a killer drummer behind you
2. Finding an actually talented drummer? Practically impossible.

You’ve gotta be kidding me, Jimmy...

Do you have some kind of third eye just to find grass under the snow!?

You can't even acknowledge the Sun when it's actually shining.

Ho ho ho

And there's even a lyric for Zelig:

"Saint Kat, the snow hits the door, the pantry latch freezes shut"

Namaste!

I absolutely lived for gym class... it was easily the best break you could get between lessons... just hitting the pavement for some cardio... man, those were the days... though I couldn't stand art class or civics to save my life.
