(since Susan Clark10's version was totally off base 😬 )

Hmm, we only have one song in common on our top lists, and even then, it's only sitting at number 9 for me... Are you not really feeling 'Gish' or 'Siamese Dream'? 😁

Look, Adore is absolute garbage, but don't get too worked up—the machine does have its beautiful moments.

Oh, and here I was just praising your hot takes on that other thread... 😁

The Smashing Pumpkins are all about those guitars. Period.

PS: I totally forgot to include Bodies in my top list! 🙂

Susan Clark10 said:Those Ferrero Rocher chocolates with coffee? Absolutely divine.🙂 I usually find a few scattered at the bottom of my candy jar—sort of like finding a stray twenty in an old coat pocket.

👍 Thanks a million. I’ll be heading there first thing tomorrow morning. There's nothing quite like that caffeine-and-chocolate kickstart to get the gears turning... honestly, life doesn't get much better than that.🙂

+regarding: "..airplane, airplane, throw me a bonbon" — I actually got a C on a quiz back in first grade because of that, and trust me, I haven't forgotten it since.😉

My top list of sports I tried competing in for the very first time today:

1. Tug of war (honestly way more exhausting and fun than I anticipated)

The aftermath of my debut tug of war match:

1. A big group dinner with everyone who competed
2. Which also means our first round of beers after a full week of training
3. I'm actually feeling pretty great right now

Karen Doyle2 🙂 said:...because of that damn plane, plane, just throw me a bone...I don't even know where to begin with this mess... honestly, I'm just sitting here staring at my screen in disbelief because some people really think they can just say whatever they want without any consequences, and frankly, it’s driving me absolutely insane...I still remember that crushing feeling when I got my first failing grade back in first grade... honestly, I don't think I'll ever be able to shake that memory from my mind... 😉

Well, you really ought to be writing like Bonbon... at least, that’s what my favorite old English teacher used to harp on about all the time... 😍

My ranking of the most compelling characters from Bulgakov’s drama:

1. THE DECAYED ABBOT
2. THE TURKISH MOTHER, defined by her devotion
3. THE BEAUTIFUL PROSTITUTE
4. KRAPILIN, Blackwood’s orderly, a man whose own eloquence ultimately seals his fate
5. THE GREEK, a true Don Juan

I have to admit, the Smashing Pumpkins have some truly decent material in their catalog—really quite lovely stuff—but once Billy "rat in a cage" Corgan starts his particular brand of whining... well, let's just say it gives me a bit of a stomachache. I find Daydream to be an absolute gem, and Luna is wonderful too, but there is just constant moaning from Corgan in those tracks. And Stumbleine is quite beautiful as well. As for everything else, it all feels like it was put together via some rushed Malkmus procedure...😬

I think I’ll just add one small 😍 little thing here.

And honestly—the SP has some really solid stuff.

In the spirit of derailing every single topic we talk about here, I’m just gonna vent for a second—some absolute moron actually splashed a good chunk of beer all over my favorite Malkmus procedure shirt yesterday. 😠

Jerry Mitchell62 said:My top list of sports I officially tried for the first time today:

1. Beer pong (way more intense and hilarious than I thought it’d be)

Top list of aftermaths from my first beer pong tournament:

1. Group dinner with everyone who played
2. Which basically means our first beers after a week of sobriety
3. I'm actually feeling pretty good right now

I always somehow associated beer pong with those weird union competitions at summer resorts on the coast, maybe even with some bushy-mustached guests visiting from East Germany. I'm honestly stunned to find out this moronic sport is actually practiced in China too.

You should probably teach them the rules of something more legitimate, like dodgeball, or maybe even kickball... Honestly, even people in small towns like Boise or rural Alabama could probably find some success with that...

Well, it holds a similar kind of status here—if you swap out the coastal resorts and replace those mustachioed visitors from East Germany with my own (admittedly less bushy) presence.
But hey, I'm not complaining. Where else could someone with my build—though let's be honest, those seven pounds I put on over the summer probably helped—actually hope to compete for a spot on a tug-of-war team?
Unless I'm hanging out with the local buffoons.

"Uncut" style list of albums for '05

Top 10:

1. Arcade Fire – Funeral
2. Sufjan Stevens – Illinois
3. Bob Dylan – No Direction Home
4. Black Mountain – Black Mountain
5. Alligator
6. a Bigger Bang
7. LCD Soundsystem
8. The White Stripes – get Behind me Satan
9. Music Playlist
10. Rufus Wainwright – Want Two

.......Wait, isn't "Funeral" actually from 2004? 🤔

The White Stripes are ranked way too high... they shouldn't even crack the top 50.
...My Morning Jacket at only 26th? Even Gorillaz and Elbow beat them out.......Pathetic.
