Why did you have to go and say that!!!!!! Now I’ve got this weird pressure building up in my left eye too. As if this headache wasn't already enough to deal with 🙂

So, tell me, Raymond Barrett12, is your mother perhaps Ana Ugarković or Rene Bakalović?

Subtle dramatic tools used without being over the top. You’ve got this perfectly balanced symbolism of purification clashing against terminal illness, paired with effortless acting and dialogue that actually sounds human. It’s the kind of movie that forces you to think; it operates on such a high level that you just have to sit through it ten more times to catch everything.

I’m not sure if people caught the narrative bookends: the Kevin Spacey bit from American Beauty
and that final scene on the stretcher in the ER—it’s basically the beginning and end of "Carlito's Way"
The guy clearly went to school and learned how to pull off moves from the absolute masters. Which 🙂 pretty much proves he was a good student.

Not great. Actually, what even is "not great" when you consider MSP?

Top 3 reasons I wish I had a razor-sharp axe at the office:

1. When someone crawls along so painfully slow in those narrow hallways—it’s like they aren't even moving—while I'm sprinting because I'm already ten minutes late for a meeting.

2. When the power suddenly cuts out for no damn reason and stays off, leaving my electrophoresis runs, bacteria cultures, or membranes to just die in the dark.

3. When people lie through their teeth about how long their PCR cycles actually take.

🙂

Is it possible we're looking at a masterpiece here?

Personally, I'd just use Alex Rogers91 as a weapon; he's great for breaking bones and making credible threats.

Great idea! Hey Alex Rogers91, when are you coming back to Chicago? I'll take you out for a job—we'll just list you as an outside consultant.😁

A quick list of things I'd do right about now

1. Eat something totally junkily made🙂
2. Then maybe 🙂
3. Followed by even more🙂
4. And then just stare at a wall and 😬

That's basically the plan🙂

Like my last Christmas

Seriously, just bring me all the greasy snacks and drinks you can find—it’s like a bunch of Vikings are raiding my coast or something😵

exactly! everyone wants to get their PCR tests done at the exact same time—it's a joke. then they all lie about how long it takes, acting like "Oh, mine only takes two hours, I'll be out by 11," but you turn the machine on, check the status, and if you're lucky, it says "3 hours remaining" 🙂 and yeah, obviously it takes them another hour and a half just to actually set the thing up 🙂

I'm heading to the movies myself 😁

PrittPen said:natural speech...

But honestly... when she was playing his girlfriend, her accent was such a forced, overly polished East Coast dialect that it actually made me uncomfortable. It felt just like that one scene in *Pretty Little Liars* where the actress from the Midwest was trying way too hard to sound like she was from New York—it just sounded... off. I don't think this is just one director's quirk, though. It seems to be a pattern with a lot of American directors lately. They either insist on this hyper-formal, "proper" way of speaking that nobody actually uses in real life, or they lean so hard into regional accents that they end up sounding completely unnatural.
