Miso soup 🙂

why did I settle for pasta today? 🤔
oh, right... pure laziness. 😬

Yeah, I know the feeling... just pure laziness. 😬

Here’s what I ate and listened to today:

Breakfast.
Food: two cinnamon apple turnovers from Grandma and a bottle of milk.
mjuza: AutoZone, Denver Nuggets

Lunch today... just some meat and potatoes from the cafeteria, plus a vegetable cream soup.
mjuza afternoon: AutoZone, Teenage Fanclub, Calexico

It's going to bend... a lot of bending.

just some sausage and bread.

Second lunch: some vegetable soup my roommate tossed in the fridge over the weekend.

Dinner: they’re folding... there's only one left.
Mogwai, AutoZone

My friend just called me to grab a beer. She’s playing Arizona Amp and alternator - man on a String.

Here is a list of somewhat irrational criteria I use to develop an instant affinity for someone—independent of their actual merits—though I admit I occasionally misjudge things based on them.😬

1. An appreciation for Calvin & Hobbes (it’s hard to get this wrong, yet somehow I have...)
2. A fondness for miso soup
3. Using nothing but closed polylines in AutoCAD—refusing to even touch the line command for a simple point A to point B connection.
4. Not wearing a watch, or perhaps being habitually late.😍

Man, if you aren't at least a semi-regular listener, I don't even know what to tell you, 😁

but seriously, I was just sitting here thinking about how every time we got a new fridge—you know, one of those modern ones where the handle is built right into the door—it was such a massive pain in the neck to actually open. Like, I swear you’d need someone with the comedic timing and physical grace of Bob Saget just to navigate the handle properly, because the way it was designed meant you basically had to bend over and smash your nose right into the path of the swinging door just to get a grip. It was ridiculous.

1. They love Calvin & Hobbes (hard to mess that one up, though I still managed...)

I was just about to go grab those three cheap paperbacks when I read he used to swap out the comic dialogue. Man, that changes everything. It's not the same anymore. 😢 Luckily, I’ve already got all my treasures 🥳 😁 🐿️

It felt like you needed a bit of Bob Saget’s comedic timing just to navigate toward the handle without an accident; the way the door swung out meant that bending down slightly would send your face straight into the path of the opening door.

Anyone who uses the phrase "Bob Saget" just to make a joke about him deserves to be hit by a bus.

brightridge19 Daniel Bailey7 said:When working in AutoCAD, I’ve found that there is a distinct advantage to sticking exclusively to closed polylines rather than relying on the standard line command. Even when you just need to get from point A to point B, bypassing the basic line tool in favor of a continuous, closed loop creates a much more cohesive workflow. It’s like choosing to build a structure using integrated modular components instead of laying individual bricks one by one; while both methods technically get the job done, the modular approach offers a level of structural integrity and ease of manipulation that simple lines just can't match.

Amen. 😬

There is one particular thing about AutoCAD users that always seems to get under my skin:

If you don't clean up your layers before passing a drawing off to someone else, it’s basically a death sentence. 🙂

1. Liking Calvin & Hobbes (hardest one to screw up, but still...)
2. Liking miso soup
3. Only using closed polylines in AutoCAD—never even touching the line command for a simple point A to point B stretch.
4. Not wearing a watch or just being late.😍

I check all four boxes. 🥳

My absolute favorite trait in a person:
1. Cynicism.

People who put everything—like load-bearing walls and furniture—on the exact same layer and then just change the color to tell them apart. Hate it.

Man, that is easily one of the most nonsensical and unproductive habits I've ever seen.🙂
I have never once understood what people are actually trying to achieve by doing that. Is it just to make the screen look colorful?

It’s not a huge amount, but it’s enough to ruin the fun for the hardcore fans. He kept tweaking those parts about adopting kids because he ended up adopting one himself in the meantime. Total wuss move.

So, I just started this thread. I'm asking you guys—anyone at all—can someone please remind me who this guy was? Which cartoon was he from? ...I know for a fact I watched it when I was a kid, but I just can't wrap my head around what it actually was... 🙂

Oh, I see. It’s not a tragedy—goodness gracious. My absolute favorite Calvinist enthusiast right here. 😠 Just give me a year... 😬 😍

I'll take a look at all these twisted users tomorrow after I get off work; I have no intention of ruining my lovely evening at home.🙂

Please, don't yell—I already told myself it wasn't too much. Honestly, I was starting to think he’d swapped out Hobbes for some generic teddy bear. 🙂

(And yes, I am fully aware he isn't a plush toy, before you start shouting again... 😬)

Just let me be—I'm busy narrowing down my top five.

Let me backtrack to those moments when everything went downhill

3. This one was brutal—I went flying off my bike on that steep hill near Napa Valley when my brakes completely failed, feeling just like a flying squirrel. I tried to break my fall with one palm and half my face, which left me with a crusty scab all summer and a swollen lip that looked like something straight out of a Ciganovićev caricature.

2. I was cruising on my bike across from the MIM office, just taking it easy with my former roommate. They were actually in the middle of setting up that new covered transit station right then, and since I thought they hadn't installed the glass yet, I leaned in a bit too hard, hit the southern edge, and—flop—down I went.

1. After a relaxing Sunday soak in the tub, I heard my roommate screaming that the cartoon was starting. She bolted toward the door, yelling Conan i zaletili! Like some kind of barbarian! In the split second I went to open the door, I tried to block her with my foot, but she slammed into me, and I ended up hitting the door frame full force with my head—flop, on the floor. The result? A massive rog right in the middle of my forehead and a nose that throbbed for a solid week.

1. An appreciation for Calvin & Hobbes (this is probably the safest bet, though I've been known to err...)
:

In that case, you must find me incredibly likable. 😁

I am going to attempt to compile a top 10 list of Against Me! songs.

So, my buddy just told me this wild story from work:
Cold winter morning. Heading to work. The bus pulls out of the station but luckily hits a red light. She sprints toward the doors, the driver sees her and swings them open. She’s acting all important, flashes this big "thank you" smile at the driver, looks right at him, and completely misses the step. She slips right on some black ice on the road and almost gets taken out by the bus! She scrambles up and turns her back to the bus so nobody sees her fail. But the driver’s just sitting there like, "Come on, kid, get in here! What are you waiting for!?"
