bands that should have been booked

1. James Chance and the Contortions before he kicked the bucket

Why stop there? He might as well bring in Lydia Lunch too.🙂

As far as I'm concerned, they can both stay right where they are, simmering away.😈

Lydia Lunch?
You think she knows how to cook?
More like making a mess.
It’s all just sex, vodka, and cigarettes.
Tell her to show up.

Well, you can see it from the left side, I guess.

Oof, I'm putting these in the number one spot, not sixth.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Honestly, we should just ban the Northern coast altogether—and the South? Even more so, I guess.
thanks

as if Secretary Miller & his damn school grammar handbook are actually gonna step in and save us!!!

If you haven't made it out to Maui yet, you honestly haven't lived! 🙂

Heh... snitches... 👍

The last few pages of this thread were actually pretty hilarious... 🙂

Unfortunately, I haven't spent enough time on islands like Maui or Kauai to start my own thread... and I really hope Matt doesn't book those bands, otherwise I'll be stuck taking out a loan just to see them...
I can already see it: a 24-month loan, 10% down, a 5% nominal rate, but a 15% APR... paying with Visa or Mastercard... all because of some damn music... 😲

Rick Lee said:I don't know what you're trying to get at with that one. Give me something real to work with.
California, the Pacific Northwest, NYC, and even Pittsburgh are where it's at.

Coastal vs. Midwest vibes.
🙂

I can forgive a coastal accent or some Midwest drawl, sure... but Pittsburgh? Please. 😲 Do you even have ears? 🤔

Rick Lee said:Found out Jawbox and Dismemberment Plan broke up on the exact same day—right when I was finally getting into them. Typical.😢

Turns out like 20 of my top 30 favorite bands don't even exist anymore.

Same old story... ☕

5 😍 Actress in her 5s. 😍 I don't have any text to work with yet. Send over the post you want me to flip, and I'll get it done.
Marlon Brando in "A Streetcar Named Desire." 😍
Paul Newman in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Keanu Reeves in My Own Private Idaho.
Colin Firth playing Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Total classic. 😁
And obviously, Brad Pitt in Fight Club.

I’d really appreciate it if those regionalist fascists would just pipe down or, better yet, keep their narrow-minded opinions to themselves🙄

Everything after "Buy The Contortions" 🙂 🙂 🙂

Just do us all a favor and end it, James. Right now.

Then again, I’d probably catch a Lightning Bolt show too, just for kicks. Based on that DVD though... hell breaks loose once they actually start playing.

Man, there are just a few movies where I can't decide if the lead or the supporting role was better (Fight Club or My Own Private Idaho)... and yeah, Johnny Depp absolutely kills it no matter what he's playing. 😍

Michael Newman50 said:Could we please ask the regional elitists to just stop it or at least keep it to themselves?🙄

I'm with you. It’s that classic mindset where people act like big shots, but they're still stuck in that small-town bubble, mocking anything that doesn't look like their backyard because they just don't get it.

You'd think music folks would have more perspective, but even here, that old saying hits home:

"You can take the boy out of the sticks, but you can't take the sticks out of the boy."

😁 😁

I mean, major props to John Christopher Depp II—really, I do—but you've gotta look at this from a different perspective, ☕

Man, why do you have to love him so much? 🙄

Look, in Fight Club, they’re both leads. And they’re both great. 🙂
Yeah, I guess Johnny Depp is always easy on the eyes too. 😍
