My top stats from Last.fm:

1 Elliott Smith 53
2 The Smiths 32
2 The Beatles 32
4 Lambchop 25
4 Fred Neil 25
6 Fountains of Wayne 23
7 Calexico 21
7 Air 21
9 The Arcade Fire 17
10 Ladytron 15

In my defense—I only listen to music on my computer at work (I actually have a real setup with a player and a turntable at home)—and I have to be careful not to annoy my boss, so there's zero chance I'm playing anything heavier than Buzzcocks.

Just realized I've got three ties for my top spots. What a mess.

Dolgcajt said:🙂 Alright, alright... look, maybe it is a total wreck, fully grown, and has a hole in the floorboard big enough to fit a foot through right by the passenger side... but it still packs 120 HP.

The band might approve (and honestly, they'd probably start a riot over it), but when it comes to my beloved piece of heavy metal... hmph... 🙂

To be honest... that one trip to Cleveland years ago was actually pretty great. I still think about that apartment you had there, with all those little bells next to everyone's last names, and then just one single name at the top: "The Peak." 😁 Between that and that whole situation with Carmen Elektra living in Selac, always changing her look... this car just brings back a massive flood of memories...

Man, that's actually heavy enough to put in a sig... 🙏 🙏 🙏 I guess the thing with Skids isn't half bad either (though I basically created a monster by recording them with Ar Peka—they're good, sure, but not *that* good, except maybe to him). If I didn't have the untouchable Sad Owl, I might actually give them a shot...

👍 Whoa! Glad you dug it. Uncle Fred is the absolute truth... huge thanks to Devendra Banhart for putting him on my radar...

10 tracks with the best (or most unexpected) twists in those final lines:

1. Thomas Dolby - Key of your Ferrari (just a clever little trick)
2. Zvonak Špišić - bicik (totally predictable, but still a vibe)
3. Vatreni poljubac - Žikino kolo (honestly, without a music video, it doesn't even hit half as hard)
4. Elvis J. Kurtovich - Zašto ljubav boli (probably the most effective one-liner in American music)
5. Bob Dylan - Drifter's escape (this was my late grandma's absolute favorite twist)
6. Jacques Brel - Les bonbons (and honestly, even better if you catch Brelov's stage presence)
7. Ran Mraz - O kako tužnih ljubavi ima (Balašević... man, he's just a genius with words, as usual)
8. Johnny Cash - A boy named Sue (expected, right? But when it's this good, who cares...)
9. Kraftwerk - Showroom dummies (that twist is so subtle you almost miss it)
10. Satan panonski - Lepa Mario (kind of surreal, isn't it?)

(I'm not saying these are the top 10 ever, just the first 10 decent ones that popped into my head...

I feel the same way as Gregor Tomac. He actually uses them as an example of why things didn't take off—if a band like the Skids couldn't make it back then, what chance did we ever have?😁

I haven't even bothered counting the American ones (that Nmk thing was some weird co-production anyway).

Our lineup would probably sit somewhere between second place and who knows where, starting with that new one airing in the prime-time slot, featuring Jelena Miholjević playing a mother to... an alien son?

Fred is legit—no question about it. It's a shame I can't blast Devendra Banhart at work; his stuff is a bit too intense for my roommate, and I’d rather not deal with that since he’s actually a great guy. Plus, Devendra feels more like a "stay home, late night, dark and quiet" kind of vibe—not exactly the background noise you want while grinding through reports and other bullshit.

np morphine - i know you pt.3
My roommate definitely got a taste of that one. Here’s what my Last.fm stats show—and I've barely been registered for over a month:

Top Artists – Overall
1 Morphine 235
2 Elliott Smith 85
3 Neil Young 80
4 M. Ward 67
5 Paul Simon 66
etc., etc.—won't bore you by copying the rest.

First guy lit up a joint and got knocked out cold. Then one passed away so the rest could inherit the estate, one was speeding and took a turn too sharp, one got caught by his mistress's husband, one got busted for tax evasion, one got picked up by the cops, one drank himself under the table, one fell ill from Mad Cow disease, and one didn't get asylum... leaving just one lonely soul who didn't want to be alone, so he invited 9 new guests over for a party... and then it all starts all over again. 😬

(Only ZS and LMS are worth considering)
My apologies if I missed the boat when this thread first popped up.
I’ve only been around for two months myself.

1. Zagor - basically a demigod (definitely better than Tarzan)

2. Marty Mystery - the gold standard

3. Mr. No - a total loser

... then we hit the second tier...

4. Mark

5. Black

6. Tex Willer

7. Captain Mickey

8. Kit Tyler

9. Ken Parker*

*It's a shame I didn't realize his value until I was already old
** Just boring, overly groomed straight-edge nerds
*** A meathead bodybuilder with zero substance

For example, Wipers - Is This Real? (it's stuck in my head)

Is Bob Dylan even worth mentioning?
To me, he’s way above the rest.

Dodo would probably pick someone unbeatable like Nick Rider,

along with Leslie Eldridge and Heisey (okay, they aren't comics, but they defined my childhood).

Oh, and Luna too.

My top 6 fruits
1. Apple (if Eve hadn't picked it up, I definitely would have—though I probably would've just devoured the whole thing myself)
2. Orange
3. Peach
4. Grapes
5. Grapefruit
6. Cherry
