The only thing worse than Gungrave is Wolf's Rain—and that’s based on what I've watched lately. Come on, you have to have something better than that. I have zero interest in a series stretched thin over 26 episodes where there's nothing actually worth watching, aside from the protagonist moping around because he has "trauma." I don't care about flashbacks; I want action, blood, and carnage 😁 😁

think Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Trinity Blood, stuff like that...

I don't know, if you're looking for pure brutality, you might as well check out Elfen Lied, Berserk, Baki, or Gantz...
In my opinion, though, that isn't really a valid metric for quality.

And I guess Ghost in the Shell is only brutal because of how boring it is.🙂

I highly recommend checking out the four new episodes of the Hellsing Ultimate OVA series. It’s a masterpiece that stays true to the manga.👍

Hellsing Ultimate follows the manga closely. That means plenty of detail, blood, and violence. A lot was added to the original story. The production quality is top-tier and the episodes run about 50 minutes each. That’s all I’ll say...🙂 Oh, and I should emphasize one more time: it’s a masterpiece. 😁

If you liked the old Hellsing, you already know what to do. 😍

I'm watching Nadia: Secret of Blue Water, this steampunk anime from the early nineties. It always surprises me how much Gainax packs into a single series with Hideaki Anno at the helm. You've got everything from the Nautilus and Captain Nemo to some dark cult obsessed with Atlantis. The characters are actually pretty well-developed, too. We'll see if all 39 episodes end up being worth the time..
