That amount sounds pretty good to me, though I guess I’ll probably never see a single payout that big in my life... Anyway, does the bank take any kind of fee on their end?

Walter Edwards said:To’s the thing, it’s not even fully laid out in the rules... I mean, online betting itself isn't explicitly banned or anything like that, right? It’s more like there are restrictions on sending money overseas just to chase some kind of profit or something along those lines... I guess it's more about how the funds move, maybe?

By the way, I’m pretty sure the IRS only starts breathing down your neck once you receive more than $3,000 from overseas. Or maybe that's just how it works? I guess I know that for a fact, though... :P

I mean, I don't know, but honestly? This whole law is just... it's a mess. It’s so incredibly vague and just poorly written from top to bottom. Like, seriously, they didn't even think this through, I guess. It feels totally unfinished.
It’s like they’re trying to pull off this impossible balancing act where they don't actually want to ban anything *and* they don't want to allow anything either... at the exact same time. I mean, seriously? It just feels totally contradictory, you know? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it's such a weird vibe! 😁
I mean, honestly? The whole mechanism is basically pointless at this stage. There aren't even any actual penalties being enforced, the core idea is just super muddy, and if you ask me, the law itself is totally out of line with both European Union standards and general legal norms. It just doesn't add up, I guess!

It’s kind of like that one guy who tries to enforce rules about opening bank accounts overseas... you know, the one that absolutely nobody actually follows because, well, it just doesn't make any sense at all, I guess. Hmmm.

So, how'd it all go? How was everything? I'm dying to know!
Did you actually tell them where the deposit came from before just saying "bye-bye"? I mean, I guess maybe you should have mentioned that? :P

Bryan Scott4 said:That amount is honestly pretty wild to me... I mean, I doubt I’ll ever see a single payout that big in my entire life! But hey, maybe I'm just being pessimistic, haha. Anyway, quick question though—does the bank usually take its own cut or charge any extra fees on top of everything?

It’ll probably take about a buck from you, regardless of how much you're putting down, I guess.

Did you tell them where the money came from or did you just play it cool?

Nah, hold up. I didn't just wander in there blindly—I did my homework beforehand, so there weren't any hiccups. As for that amount, I know for a fact it's solid because I've got an "insider" connection.🙂

Anyone got the scoop on what’s going on with DraftKings and their move into online betting? They’ve been talking about it forever... Is everyone just sitting around waiting for some new legislation to pass through Congress? I feel like we've been hearing the same promises for two years now, yet here we are still waiting...

Walter Edwards said:Nah, not quite. I didn't just go in there blindly guessing, you know? I actually did some digging beforehand to make sure everything was solid, so there weren't any hiccups. As for that specific number, I'm pretty certain about it—I got it through a different channel, like a little bit of insider info, I guess. 🙂

So, let me see if I can break this down for you. If you’re asking a sportsbook like DraftKings to send your winnings straight to an international bank account—you know, one held in a different currency—there are definitely a few things you should probably keep an eye on. First off, there's the exchange rate. I guess that's the big one. The rate you see on Google isn't always the one the bank actually gives you, so you might end up with a little less than you expected. Maybe check that before you get too excited about the total. Then, you've got to think about those pesky wire transfer fees. Most banks charge a slice just for moving money around, especially when it's crossing borders. It’s kind of annoying, really. You might want to ask your bank if they have any specific fees for incoming foreign transfers so you aren't blindsided. Also, just a heads-up—sometimes these things take a bit longer to clear than a standard domestic transfer. It might take a few business days, so don't panic if it doesn't show up instantly. Just stay patient, I suppose!

Bryan Scott4 said:Come on, walk me through it—say I request a withdrawal from a sportsbook straight to my foreign currency account, what am I actually looking out for here?

Just make sure you don't try to pull more than $3,000 all at once.🙄

Other than that, honestly, nothing. Literally nothing. I’ve pulled cash out more times than I can count and never hit a single snag—I've even had funds sent from overseas accounts directly to my checking account without anyone batting an eye. To be real, I don't think there's even a legal leg to stand on for them to sue you or freeze your assets, even if you admit the money came from an online sportsbook. Like Stipe said, it's this weird, gray area situation where the government doesn't really have the legal ground to come after you.

Beyond that, I know plenty of people who bet online constantly and have zero issues getting their payouts.🙂

Honestly, there are way better books out there than Bwin... listen, once you get used to how they operate, it’s kind of hard to walk away..

I don't want to clutter things up by starting a whole new thread, since I think this one touches on my exact question...

Does anyone happen to know which online sportsbook allows deposits and withdrawals using JP Morgan Chase Visa Electron cards?

Why was money deducted from my checking account $67? Bwin took funds from me and I have no idea why. I haven't even placed a bet in 10 days. Please help me resolve this.

Dropped $67 onto Bwin and my balance is still sitting at zero. Checked with JP Morgan Chase first to see if the fault was mine, but they confirmed the transaction on my debit card went through perfectly fine. Then I spent the last few days firing off about five different emails to Bwin, just getting met with total silence. I even tried calling them, but they couldn't even locate my username in their system. Anyone else dealt with this kind of nonsense??

I get the feeling there are some scammers in this group... so I figured I’d ask, even if this isn't an online sportsbook, I'm curious...
About three years ago, I was in St. Louis and hit up this betting kiosk in a local cafe—can't remember the name, just that it used a touchscreen interface. I placed a bet on a Waterpolo match that ended in a draw. The weird part was, according to the machine, the game wasn't even supposed to start for another half hour. Anyway, the bet required me to pick two more outcomes to qualify, so I went ahead and did it. I put $67 (didn't have much cash left on me 😁) and, wouldn't you know it, I actually won. When I went back to the shop the next day to collect, they only paid out on those other two legs where the odds were pathetic. Now I'm wondering if they're actually allowed to do that. Everything happened a long time ago and I don't even have the receipt anymore, but I guess I'm just wondering...

Maybe three years ago I was down in St. Louis, and I placed some bets at this local spot (can't remember the name, just know they used those touchscreen kiosks) inside some cafe. I put money on a game that ended in a draw, but according to their terminal, the match wasn't even supposed to start for another half hour. It was a Waterpolo match, odds were sitting at 10... and naturally, the system forced me to add two more legs to the parlay to make it valid, so I did... I threw $67 on it (didn't have much cash left over 😁) and of course, I hit it... So I head back there the next day, and what do you know? They only pay out what I won on those two other legs where the odds were absolute garbage... Now I'm wondering, do they actually have the right to do that? I know it was a long time ago and I don't even have the damn ticket on me, but I'm curious...

I don't know which shop that was, but honestly, they usually have the upper hand here... Everything is buried in their T&C. If you're trying to exploit their glitches like that, most of the time they catch on and just reset the odds to 1.00... But hey, worth a shot, you never know 🙂

Of course they have that right... hehe... they protect themselves so you can't touch them... it’s been that way for ages, so I might as well complain about it now...
A buddy of mine from St. Louis was telling me the exact same thing happened with hockey over at BetMGM (in Canada). The whole league wrapped up, but their stuff hadn't even started yet, and four guys placed their bets and won $26667, only for the sportsbook to refuse to pay out... then apparently another sportsbook heard about the situation and started giving those people $16667 each. They basically sold their tickets to that other place, and I heard it's still tied up in court, even though it all went down two years ago...

I’ve been using Bwin for almost a year now and haven't run into any issues with my withdrawals. I usually pull out a portion of my funds every other Monday, and the money typically hits my JP Morgan Chase account within three or four days.

When it comes to Bwin, I personally don't have any issues regarding payouts—honestly, I don't play there all that much anyway since I haven't actually withdrawn anything yet 😁—but I do know two buddies of mine who had their accounts shut down entirely. The excuse they gave was that they were betting on things like "suspicious matches." And honestly, they were, because whenever there was a random over/under in the Spanish second division, or some weird draw in American handball, or even some tips on the Canadian League Cup, they were right there betting on it. They actually hit a few wins, and that’s exactly when their accounts got closed.
If I had to single out one sportsbook that's given me actual trouble so far, it would have to be Paddy Power. They basically limited my stakes to laughably tiny amounts—we're talking like $1.50 on certain hockey games, or maybe $30 on a Champions League match 😕. My guess is that it happened because out of about 15 bets I placed with them, I only missed two, and in less than a month, I managed to turn my initial deposit into ten times what it was. So, they "cut me down to size," and now I just don't play there anymore...

Regarding stake limits, I'd say Pinnacle is absolutely flawless in that department. Basically, whatever their limit is for a specific league, that's how much you can bet, and that applies to everyone equally regardless of whether you're winning or losing.
I'm curious to hear about anyone's experiences with FanDuel, Bet365, and Ladbrokes since I play on those quite a bit too, and now I'm starting to worry that I might get restricted over there as well???

amberpanther57 said:So, you're looking to see what the deal is with FanDuel, Bet365, and Ladbrokes? Honestly, it’s a bit of a rabbit hole once you start digging into how they actually treat people. I've spent enough time staring at these screens to have some thoughts. If you're looking for variety and those massive parlays that make you feel like a genius right before they ruin your life, Bet365 is pretty much the gold standard—they've got everything, but man, their interface can be a lot to take in if you aren't used to it. Then you've got FanDuel... look, they're huge for a reason. Their promos are usually solid, but just keep an eye on how they handle things when you actually start winning consistently. They're great until you become a "problem" for them. And Ladbrokes? They're decent, reliable, a bit more old-school in vibe, I guess. Nothing too crazy, just a steady way to play. What's everyone else's take? Anyone here actually sticking with one of these long-term, or are you all jumping around like I do? I play on those sites quite a bit too, and honestly? Now I’m starting to get a little paranoid that they’re gonna come after my account and limit me over there as well...

Watch out—Bet365 is going to pull the exact same stunt they did at Paddy Power, especially if you’re playing with anything north of a hundred bucks. I never ran into those kinds of headaches with FanDuel, and honestly, I can't say for sure when it comes to Ladbrokes...

Thnx!

I’m a bit confused how both Paddy Power and Bet365 can stay on the "green list" over at bookmakersreview.com when they basically try to drive players away with those ridiculous limits. In my opinion, that’s a huge red flag, and I don't think they belong on a list like that. I tried checking sportsbookreview.com to see their take, but their site isn't loading for me right now.

I noticed you already posted which sportsbooks you consider reliable and solid. Does that mean I can actually place decent-sized bets there without worrying about getting restricted? By "decent," I'm thinking in the $200 to $500 range. I'm not quite playing at those levels yet—I'm currently sitting at about $15 per unit—but I'm hoping to scale up to those bigger plays, maybe hitting $50 per unit, in the near future.

Since I'm a regular reader of your blog, I've seen you placing action on some of the smaller books too, like Bet-at-Home. So, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of unit size are you typically running with? 🙂

How the hell are both Paddy Power and Bet365 sitting on the "green list" over at sportsbookreview.com when they basically try to drive players away by slapping you with those ridiculous limits? In my book, that’s a massive red flag—I wouldn't put them on a recommended list if I were running the show. I tried checking what the verdict was over at sportsbookreview.com, but their site is acting up and won't let me see their take.

I noticed you already posted about which books you actually trust. So, does that mean you can actually place decent bets there without constantly looking over your shoulder for a ban? By "decent," I’m thinking somewhere in the $200 - $500 range. I'm not playing with those kinds of numbers just yet—right now I'm hovering around $15 per unit—but I'm hoping to scale up to something like $50 per unit eventually.

Since I'm a regular on your blog, I see you hitting the smaller books too (like Bet-at-Home), so I was wondering—if you don't mind me asking—what's your typical unit size?🙂

$30 per unit, though I'll occasionally bump it up to $1667 in specific spots. With that kind of approach, even the "smaller" books work fine for me; honestly, I could probably increase my unit size, but I'm just a bit of a 😉
conservative soul.

Has anyone here in the States ever tried depositing into a Bet-at-Home account using a bank transfer? I’m curious if someone could walk me through the process and maybe give me an idea of what kind of fees they usually tack on?
