Alright, after some digging on a few forums where a couple of guys who actually worked on the production dropped some incredibly interesting details (no spoilers, I promise), all I can say is: I am beyond hyped for this movie!!!

If you haven't seen the series yet, it'll be airing on CNN this Tuesday, 12/23.

The first installment was absolute garbage, and honestly, I can't expect anything more than total disappointment from this one.👎

Hmm... fans complained after the first installment that it didn't feel connected to the game at all.

Then, for the second part, they made several changes:
- They brought in Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Nicole, and Nemesis (for those who are familiar with the third entry in the series)
- There will be at least three times as much action.
- And according to those who have read the script, there's going to be more horror elements.
- Even Leon S. Kennedy (the character from the second game) is expected to be mentioned at some point.

And so on, and so forth...

It seems to me that the second part could actually turn out to be quite a bit better.

And that’s the verdict for every movie... we'll see how it plays out eventually.
The first one was just... I don't know... kind of a letdown...😢
I mean, it doesn't have much to do with the game, but honestly, that shouldn't really matter that much in the grand scheme of things...

Alexander Witt is making his directorial debut here, though he has significant experience working as a second unit director (essentially handling the action sequences) on major productions such as: XXX, Black Hawk Down, The Bourne Identity, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Gladiator.

Word is the guy was incredibly picky when selecting his first feature project, so let's hope the result actually holds up.

The official release date is set for September 24, 2004.

However, filming wrapped up by late October, several effects were finished two months ago, and they’ve been editing the film while still shooting—which is highly unconventional. A few people involved in the production have suggested we might see an earlier release around March or April 2004.🙂

I honestly feel like any installment of Resident Evil: Apocalypse should really be at least two hours long, mostly because that's the only way you can actually build up the kind of heavy atmosphere a movie like this deserves.
Everything feels a bit rushed right now, doesn't it? It all moves so fast that nothing seems to stick, and we lose that sense of genuine anticipation that makes a horror story work.

Given that the sequel is going to feature such a massive ensemble cast, I suspect the runtime will be significantly longer than the ninety minutes we saw in the first film.

I’ve played through several of these titles, and honestly, the games are top-tier!
The movie just can't replicate what the gameplay offers... it lacks that silence, the tension, the adrenaline, the fear, that visceral sense of dread...
A film simply can't simulate certain scenarios—like being trapped in your own house with zombies while you're staring down sixteen bullets in your handgun against fifty zombies and maybe five or six dogs... (just an example)

No... the movie doesn't hold a candle to the game.
Though, I suppose the film is decent enough for those who have never actually picked up a controller!

Just watched the first movie and—I don't even know how to put this—it was actually pretty good. I mean, there was some action, sure, but it felt thin... and the horror elements? Way too light. Honestly, the game is ten times better. I remember being genuinely terrified when I first played it... whereas with the movie, I was basically fighting off sleep because it was so dull. Let's just hope the sequel actually brings something to the table.

Watching the first installment on my new TV is honestly quite depressing. God help us, what a total disaster! I’m fully aware that my standards for cinematic entertainment are embarrassingly low, but even *I* find this movie completely mediocre. And to top it all off, Milla Jovovich is in it!

I found the movie to be quite solid. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing a sequel.

Man, Resident Evil is seriously the bomb—after all this time, it’s such a refreshing take on zombie flicks🙏
