Not gonna happen, man. Look, the whole point of life is just making yourself and everyone else happy. It’s not about being selfish, but it’s not about just serving others either—it’s about finding that sweet spot right in the middle. Life isn't some math equation or a broken engine you need to fix; it's just an experience you're supposed to live through. Spending your days terrified of what's coming next, stuck in this constant loop of pessimism and staying on the defensive... it's pointless.

I just finished watching that Seinfeld episode featuring the marine biologist on RTL2, and honestly... what a total spectacle 🤣

After reading through the last few pages, I can't help but feel that most of you have it pretty easy compared to what really matters...

In a way, perhaps it’s actually better that things are this way.

I’ve been wrestling with one particular thought lately. I was watching the evening news and saw sasuti Zalepugin appearing as a guest. The man is ninety-one years old, yet he’s still out there circling through all those trivial, superficial social events. I honestly can't wrap my head around why he bothers.🤣
It feels to me like the prestige of these awards has essentially evaporated; they don't really serve as a meaningful recognition of hard work anymore, which is such a shame because there are plenty of people out there who truly deserve that kind of honor. Personally, I find myself losing interest in following these things altogether, and I can only imagine how much more detached I'll feel once I hit my fifties.

Good morning colleagues, along with our usual new national anthem.
I must point out a few things here. If these reports are accurate, this is what Mariupol looks like right before its fall. Combat has reached the very center of the city. Intense fighting is occurring over every single street and building. Even that bearded guy Kadyrov went so far as to praise the defenders for fighting like lions. He also noted that surrender isn't an option for many of them, because for a huge number of those foreign volunteers in Azov, the enemy is actually Russians from Russia. They are Putin's enemies who believe he has turned the nation into a zombie state—they are the direct opposition to his style of rule. Operating on this battlefield are also Chechens who have never sold out like Kadyrov did. These people haven't accepted defeat from the second Chechen war and they always find themselves fighting against Moscow whenever there is trouble out East. They realize that on the other side, caught among the orcs, are Kadyrov's own Chechens. The mutual hatred is massive, and both sides of the Chechen factions are primed to tear each other apart. Consequently, for those Russians and Chechens on the Ukrainian side, it is a fight to the death. Naturally, the Ukrainians in Azov feel the same way, as their resolve and will to fight are on a much higher level than that of the regular army. Azov is sending out calls for help and talking about some kind of deep encirclement of the city as the military advances toward them. That part doesn't quite make sense to me, since they surely realize they are cut off deep inside Russia.

St. Joseph
For all our fathers, for us as fathers, and for our sons who will one day step into those same shoes—today belongs solely to us!

So you're Joseph and you actually named the little guy Joseph?
You couldn't be serious...

Look, people are terrified of wild animals, but they shouldn't be. If you live out in the rural countryside, the actual danger from wildlife is effectively zero. I spent my childhood summers staying out on a farm, and I can tell you there were only ever two real concerns. First, if a hawk caught an updraft and started circling the coop, that was the immediate signal to drive the chickens back into the coop until the predator moved on. The second threat was more serious, but in a small town, someone always has a shotgun handy, and any rabid fox wandering into the village is dealt with very quickly. Rabid foxes don't fear humans and can actually be dangerous. Honestly, if I ever went back to my grandfather’s old place, I wouldn't raise livestock. I don't know the first thing about it, and frankly, I don't have the stomach for it—slaughtering a chicken, cutting its head off, and waiting for the blood to drain before scalding it in hot water? Disgusting. You buy your meat in the city; out in the country, you grow your own fruits and vegetables and tend to a beautiful flower garden.
Springtime strawberries straight from the garden—man, there isn't a city in this country that can compete with that.
The true danger in rural living is the isolation you feel when you don't have a wife and children to anchor you. The younger generation has all migrated away from these small towns, leaving behind nothing but an aging population and perhaps a few middle-aged folks scattered about. You simply have no one to socialize with. While you might be geographically cut off, having a car makes it manageable enough. It isn't like the old days when I was growing up; back then, everyone would head out to the countryside for the summer. Godparents or close family friends would drop by, and we’d spend the entire night drinking beer and wine. We kids would just sit there, wide-eyed, watching the adults drink, smoke, and play cards. You weren't even allowed to pull up a chair to the table; they’d immediately usher you over to the couch because "that's not for kids."
Just what I needed today—a drunk neighbor wielding a shotgun.

I'm not John, and the kid's name is actually Rocco... Back when that massive earthquake hit two years ago, everything just felt like it got shaken up, and honestly, St. Roch being the protector against diseases made the name stick naturally... Plus, he's basically the patron saint of all things seafood...
