To each their own. Most of these follow the exact same blueprint—gloomy, heavy, and pushing that grating "modern realism" vibe. Personally, I lean toward magical realism, which I think works much better. Scandinavia actually has a massive culture of magical realism through their films, which are honestly a class above, often two levels better than their series. For me, the best Scandinavian show was Trapped from 2015. And you know why? Even though it’s dark, depressing, and serious, the show manages to include what I consider the most vital ingredient: that human touch that so many other shows in this genre seem to lack.

I guess I have a soft spot for those Scandinavian movies, specifically the one where the guy traps his wife in a chamber and restricts her air supply... everything else, I don't know.

Back when I was a kid, I used to watch Rasken

There’s just something about that gloomy, depressive vibe in those Scandinavian series—it really draws me in.
The murders in the Caribbean? Honestly, they never did much for me; I just can't quite put my finger on why.

Does anyone actually know the title of that movie?

So, if we're pulling a net amount of CO2 out of the atmosphere, technically we could keep using fossil fuels as a backup for another million years and still meet the goal. I run into people all the time getting called hypocrites because they use some product X that required CO2 to manufacture. Yeah, sure, but that misses the point entirely. The point is carbon neutrality.

Bottom line? Because we don't have 25 or 30 years to sit around burning coal while we wait on nuclear power to come online, especially since coal is way worse for us than gas.

So the "solution" is to shut down the existing nuclear plants right now—get this—at the exact moment energy demand is spiking and renewables are lagging? Yep, I'm talking about the most populous country in the EU.

And now I'm supposed to stop replying post by post, while I'll just add: my topic is the only one with actual substance, unlike those empty messages of yours 🤣
You won

Just baked some scones (that's the American term, anyway)—time to eat them with some tea and cocoa 🙂

Thomas Hayes said:Honestly, I think HRT put Zero percent effort into promoting it. If I remember correctly, they just aired one season on Saturdays at 10 PM, and that was pretty much it.

I’d say, if I recall correctly, the time slot was actually even worse—Monday nights at 9 PM. 🙏

Anyway, yeah, Law is law. 🙏

And as for the Gruntovčan crowd, I don't even need to get started; ZZ and I have already written quite a bit about that. 🙏

I found myself genuinely incensed when Dudek stepped off that train.🤦

It was one of those moments where you truly lose your cool, quite frankly.

During that specific hour, our favorite series are always airing on HRT...

And apparently, that time slot was judged to be one of the most ideal ones, which is why they schedule them then...

Out of those old classics, my favorite has to be "Where the Wild Boars Go."

Sure, but let's be real—he wouldn't have stood a chance in Germany. He couldn't even navigate his way around a Suburban Estate, 😬

He’d end up wandering around like that guy from my old Small Town who tried to find his way through Prague. 🙏

Look, I'm not exactly a fan of decommissioning nuclear plants before they actually hit their expiration date, so yeah, I'm with you on that one.

The scum have started their rhetoric about 2014 and neo-Nazis at Majdan
Then it’s all about the harassment of Russian speakers
And the Azov battalion
They are getting ready for the possibility of Ukraine falling
Just so they can manufacture some sense of guilt—as if saying "Putin isn't great, but there were extremists there" will somehow help. In
Last week Zelenskyy was fine, but this week he’s suddenly naive and foolish—just how Putin trained him to be, agreeing to negotiate over the status of Donetsk and Luhansk
They are busy cooking up excuses and justifications.
A map showing the new division of Russia, Belarus, Moldova, and Ukraine all together
I'd rather just write everything off and watch Kramer and Constanza instead

Who?

From what I can see, we've got two major hits today—the US banned Russian energy imports, and the Poles agreed to hand over Migs to the Ukrainians. 🤷
