Two and a half minutes left on the clock... the Americans are up 22-20 and they've got a two-man advantage.

Let them come. I suspect they will be far less challenging than the Swedes.

Look, I’m staring at this list of opponents and I honestly don't even know where to start. Maybe I'm just being biased, but if we were actually playing at our peak, we'd be at least 30% better than any of these guys. The real issue is this whole "peak performance" thing. This is probably the first time in the last decade we've even sniffed a quarterfinal, but personally, I have zero clue if we're even ready for real success. We’ve played six games, and four of them were against total nobodies where we either played with our B-team almost the entire time (like against Iran or Canada) or we rotated the roster like crazy (against Austria or Tunisia). Then there was that absolute circus against Brazil—they're a "special" kind of opponent because they basically cheat the game itself. And seriously, trying to make deep tactical analyses after their keeper pulls off some 80% save rate on long shots is just plain stupid...
So, North Mexico is basically the only match we played like a real team.😁 But one game isn't enough to draw any massive conclusions... at least not for me. On one hand, we aren't the real deal yet, but on the other hand, one decent performance against someone like Poland or Sweden puts us right on the doorstep of a semifinal, so you tell me how that works.😁

Poland, truly impressive work!
And I suppose they might actually be quite a good fit for us, if I may say so.

What a garbage game—honestly, a miracle I even sat through it. The Americans... yeah, I guess that’s a win. Though man, I would’ve loved to see how bad the Swedes were playing right now. 😁

I'm happy with how things look.
We’ve got a real shot at moving forward... we just need to step it up.
Pick up the tempo and get Ivic on the scoresheet.

Rojewski went 1 for 6 from the field and racked up 5 technical fouls. Honestly, he looked just as lost against the Russians as he did before. This upcoming showdown between him and Alilovic is going to be an absolute train wreck.😁

By the way, since Qatar is snagging one of the European spots for the Olympic Games qualifiers, only one of the three groups will end up having three European teams in them. The deal is that the top two teams from each group head straight to the Olympics.
Otherwise, besides the European teams that finished 2nd through 7th at the World Cup, the two best Europeans from the next EU championship—who haven't already punched their tickets via the World Cup—will also jump into these qualifiers.
So, aside from the world champion, you've got the European winner or the runner-up stepping in if the same team takes the title at the EU championship.

But hey, the guy still pulled it off at the end 🤣
He managed to kill that one goal and basically forced those last two ejections 🤣

How would the late Beak have put it after we punched our way into the 2010 semifinals?
I suppose we'll have to settle this now. Little Poland And now we head into the finals to settle the score with the Frenchmen. 🤣

So, did the qualifying rules for the Olympic Games stay the same, or did they switch things up on us? Because honestly, whenever I’m listening to Susec, I get this nagging feeling that something feels off about the way they're doing things now.

There are 12 teams in this Olympic tournament. If I remember correctly, the spots are filled like this:
1 host (Brazil)
1 World Cup winner
1 European champion
1 African champion
1 Pan American Games winner
1 Asian champion
6 qualifiers
The qualifiers are split into three groups of four, with the top two from each group moving on. You get those 12 qualifiers by taking the 2nd through 7th place finishers from the World Cup, plus the two best teams from the EU that didn't make that top seven list... as for the last four slots, who knows. Probably the runners-up from Asia, Africa, Pan-America, and maybe Australia?
Since it’s totally possible for someone like Qatar to sweep the Asian championship, I'm betting the 8th place finisher from the World Cup gets a shot at the qualifiers too. Honestly, we've basically locked in our spot regardless of whether we lose every single game we play.
