Jack Kelly5 said:Honestly, if anyone shows up to a GP weekend with the intention of cheating, I guess a straight-up race ban would be the only fair way to handle it, but hey, what do I know. I just can't wrap my head around whether the FIA actually caught this on their own or if they were just forced to act because Red Bull started making a scene about it.

Istona, they probably tried to play it off as some random mistake... you could tell they were ready to throw Max under the bus and claim he somehow messed up a wing that was supposed to handle air pressure at over 186 miles/h

So we're just pretending Lewis was the only one with a top-tier engine?

James Harris34 said:I mean, if you look at someone like Vettel, he was hardly a half-baked driver himself, but if Bottas had been paired with guys like Webber, Massa, or Barrichello, he’d probably be sitting on four championships by now.

And honestly, if it hadn't been for that whole Briatore scandal, Massa might have snatched the title right out from under those aliens Hamilton and Raikkonen.☕

A desperate maneuver

Perez gave up too much room there—is he just going to be a wingman like Bottas?

That crash happened because of a mistake by Amanda Kelly. And honestly, that wreck is exactly why she became so low-key throughout her career. You know, how those clueless reporters and historians love to spin it as being some "quiet, reserved kid."

"Quiet and reserved"—yeah, right. I've had plenty of women tell me she was a total little rebel!

But yeah, ever since that collision with Von Tripp, she’s kept a super low profile around the track and the paddock.

Unless I get a computer implanted in my brain, I guess I'll just have to rely on my memory.🤣

I watched the footage one more time.🤔 It was Von Tripp's rear tire hitting Amanda Kelly's front end. Amanda held the inside line toward the grandstands where they hit, while Von Tripp was on the outside.

If Amanda’s turn into Von Tripp had caused the crash, Von Tripp wouldn't have flown into the stands; he would have just spun out or started rolling over his roof. There's no way Amanda's move during a right-hand turn on the straight would have sent both her and Von Tripp flying all the way to the left. 🤔 🤔

It just doesn't add up. Von Tripp had to steer into Amanda, which is why he slammed vertically into the grandstand while she ended up in the runoff area next to the stands.

I guess the only thing I don't really buy is that he's starting at the very back. A DQ combined with car changes between qualifying and the race usually means a pit lane start, and if I recall correctly, it almost always results in that.
The way I see it, they basically handed him a 5-10 second advantage, which is pretty much how long it takes to pull out of the pits behind the last guy in a sprint.

Honestly, that feels like a total cop-out. Like, oh, they just "accidentally" messed up the aero? And then they actually tried to claim Max just broke the wing with his finger or something—that whole column was pure fiction, believe it or not.
I mean, what do you think would happen if they caught an Alfa or a Haas doing something similar? They'd be dragging it out forever and listening to those endless excuses. Think about it.

That’s exactly my point. It’s just ridiculous. You throw the whole grid into chaos and then act like, "Oops, our bad, just a little mistake." It's a joke.

I find myself compelled to suggest that this assertion is, quite simply, inaccurate.

He certainly had quite the reputation among the ladies, didn't he? I wouldn't go so far as to label him a complete rogue, though—not before he earned that "smooth operator" moniker, at least.

shadowmarlin22 said:Personally, I'd put Clark and Senna in my top five—but they aren't number one for me. Whatever.

It isn't really about who he was; it’s more about your comment suggesting you're docking Senna points just because he died.🤔
Look, if you're saying seven titles are better than three, fine, but you didn't frame it that way—you phrased it like a sarcastic jab or like someone who doesn't get it, implying this other guy is superior simply because he never hit a wall. 😵 And then you claim Hamilton wouldn't have crashed if he were driving back in the old days.

Younger Hamilton was a total daredevil, honestly; he used to throw cars around with people like it was nothing, not to mention those times he went off track. I won't even bring up the tire failures or when his brakes gave out at Hockenheim. Just look at that crash with Max in Silverstone where they both could have been killed because Hamilton's tire blew, the car started fishtailing, and then—boom—he went into a violent spin over the curb.

There’s that one quote from the old champions—I think it was Hill—when he was asked how a kid in a slower car could be faster than him in qualifying. He basically replied that he didn't think the kid would last long, and sure enough, the kid ended up losing his life in the following races. He wasn't talking about aggressive racing styles; he was just describing the raw speed he saw during qualifying. Back then, having a ten-year career meant driving with extreme caution, yet they still had several massive wrecks where they took heavy hits.

Man, imagine trying to drive a car with tires as thin as a bicycle's—like an old Yugo—doing 186 miles high speeds and needing to brake. Imagine chasing a Yugo at 100 mph and having to slow down for a corner; if you lock up just a little, the damn thing starts sliding and you're just a passenger. You'd have to drive on foot to survive ten years like that. 😵 You guys are being unrealistic.☕

You’re throwing out criticisms against Red Bull over absolutely nothing, and then you have the nerve to write stuff like this....

Come on, Bottas—can you actually get something done for once?
Now he’s just asking for trouble—really, Valtteri, isn't that just typical?😁
