It’s the same story for everyone. I went through every hospital—from local clinics to major centers like Mayo Clinic or Mount Sinai. They even sent me for CT scans. Eventually, a doctor at one of the big hospitals told me there was nothing left to do, that I’d just have to live with this pain forever. Then Klapan helped me. Everything he said turned out to be true. Honestly, I didn't trust him at first; I’d already been through private specialists who just wanted to drain my bank account. But I figured, fine, let's try one more thing just so I know I've exhausted all options. I was desperate. And exactly as he predicted, a minor procedure changed my life. I thought he was lying because my issues were chronic; I was convinced it would take years of treatment to see any relief, if that even happened. It turns out a simple, quick procedure changed everything. He was right about every single detail. It still feels surreal.

I’ve already done the whole consultation thing and everything, now I'm just sitting around waiting for the surgery itself.
Man, the days are dragging by so painfully slow 🙂

Does anyone know how I can check when Dr. Džepina has her next opening at the Napa clinic without having to bug my primary care doctor? Is there a specific number I should call at the hospital to find out? Thanks!

It won't do anything for the aesthetics of your nose. That was my experience... the only thing it actually fixes is a deviated septum, if you even have one.

I don't think that's even what she was asking.

Anyone here had surgery with dr. Glumicica? If so, hit me up.
I’ve got my procedure coming up soon and, honestly, I’m freaking out just a little bit.

Hey everyone. I’ve hated my nose since I was a teenager. I’ve always wanted surgery, but I kept putting it off, hoping I’d just grow out of the complex. Now I’m 24, finishing up college, and nothing has changed.
For those who have actually gone through with a rhinoplasty, what was the reaction from people around you? How do you deal with the comments about getting a nose job?
That’s what’s weighing on me right now. I have this nagging feeling that all my friends and acquaintances would judge me if I did it. 👎

I haven't actually gone under the knife myself—being a guy, I probably have one of the biggest noses of anyone my age I know. It grew quite a bit during puberty; it used to be pretty flat... but honestly, I don't really care. Maybe it’s just easier because I'm a dude, but still...
One big thing to keep in mind with rhinoplasty is that your nose might actually be what balances out your face. Like, a smaller nose might not even suit your features. You could maybe try asking someone who knows their way around Photoshop to shrink your nose in a high-quality photo just to see how it looks (as long as they don't touch anything else besides the nose).
For me, my whole face just works with a large nose, and going smaller would probably look even weirder. So, that's a point against it. But, looking at the bright side:
What other people think isn't that important. You have to realize that some (or maybe all) of those people won't even be in your life in five years anyway. You finish college, people move away, you move to a different state, friendships just fade during that stage of life, or people relocate for work.
And even if they stay around, they probably won't find it interesting for more than a few months. Personally, I wouldn't care, but I think a good way to deal with it is to just own it yourself.

Like, if you use that fact as a shield, they can't use it as a weapon against you. The moment you run into someone you haven't seen in a while and they ask, "So, what's new?" you just say, "Oh, I finally got my nose done, it's something I've always wanted to do, what do you think?" Everyone will act polite to your face, and sure, they'll probably gossip behind your back, but that doesn't matter since you won't hear it.

If that's the only thing holding you back, I'd say don't let embarrassment stop you. Most of those people probably have made decisions that were way more embarrassing than getting a nose job.

For the longest time, I kept putting it off, nursing this naive little hope that I’d eventually just grow out of the complex and stop caring. But here I am, twenty-four years old, wrapping up my degree, and the situation hasn't changed one bit. It's still there, just as nagging as ever.
I have a question for anyone who has actually gone through with surgery—specifically, if you’ve had work done, I want to know what the fallout was like from the people around you. How did everyone react? More importantly, how do you deal with the constant, unsolicited commentary about having a nose job? I’m looking for some real insight on how to handle the comments once the initial healing is over.
It’s eating at me right now—that nagging, sinking sensation that if word ever got out, I’d be absolutely mortified in front of my entire circle of friends and acquaintances.👎

It’s actually kind of hilarious—I made some subtle changes to my nose, and I bet 95% of people didn't even notice. Not a single soul.🤣 And those people who actually figured it out—the ones who saw right through the whole thing—they were met with nothing but a chorus of glowing, positive comments. It’s almost laughable how one-sided the feedback was.

Do you honestly think you’re getting this leg surgery done for your own sake, or is it just to satisfy everyone else? — Look, if you’re making this call for yourself, then frankly, I don't care what anyone else has to say about it—not that you should be listening to their unsolicited opinions in the first place.😉

Thanks for the replies 👍.. honestly, I’m just terrified that if I go through with surgery, I’ll be trading one insecurity for another. If I weren't so sensitive to what people say, I wouldn't even be considering this. If I didn't take everyone else's opinions so personally, I probably wouldn't focus on my own flaws nearly as much.

If I were you, I’d probably take a step back and rethink the whole thing. Honestly, people are always going to find something to nitpick—even when there isn't actually anything wrong. If you start changing who you are just to fit someone else's opinion, I guess you'll just be stuck in this endless cycle of trying to please everyone, which... well, it's impossible. We all have different tastes, and you simply can't make everyone happy. Besides, those people who feel the need to comment on things like the size of your nose without being asked? They aren't really good people anyway, and they definitely aren't the kind of crowd you should be hanging out with.

I'm headed there soon and I'm feeling a little bit anxious about it, I guess.
🙂

I'm also scheduled to see dr. Glumicica soon for a rhinoplasty. Looking for any intel you guys might have!
I live over in Linz, and I've sat through a few consultations with doctors here in the States, but when they quote me something north of $5,500, I just don't feel that sense of confidence. It’s not even really about the money, per se, but if I'm paying that much just to be treated like another number on a spreadsheet... maybe I'd rather just give some other doctor a little extra under the table to ensure I'm actually taken care of. I heard dr. Glumicica charges closer to $2,000 for this kind of thing. Has anyone actually gone through with him? Help a girl out. :-))))
Thanks, bye! :-)

Glumicic is awesome. I don't know if you've had a consultation with him yet, but if you haven't, go. Just go.
I saw three different doctors for consultations, and the second I walked in with Glumicic, I just knew. Like, instantly.
He basically diagnosed my issue without me even opening my mouth. And let's be clear—I don't have a hump or anything; my nose is actually pretty straight and normal. But he saw immediately that the shape just didn't fit my face. The other guys were all so wishy-washy, like, "maybe we could do this, or maybe that," and I wasn't feeling their work at all.
Glumicic does an incredible job with the tip of the nose, even though he hasn't posted those specific shots on his site. The profile looks so good, I was honestly blown away!

I actually saw three different doctors for consultations, and the second I sat down with Glumicic, I just knew he was the one.
He basically figured out my issue without me even having to say much. And look, I’m not being vain—I actually have a pretty straight, normal nose—but he saw immediately that it just doesn't suit my face. The other doctors were all so hesitant, going on about "maybe this" or "perhaps that," and honestly, I didn't even like their work.
Glumicic does the tip of the nose perfectly, even though he hasn't posted those specific photos on his website. His profile work is beautiful, and I was just totally thrilled!

I haven't gone yet, but I plan to. I'm hoping the conversation goes well because, honestly, I'm just tired of overthinking this. I guess the more you dwell on it, the harder it gets.
The only thing that makes me a little skeptical is something I read here about the nurses handling the tape removal and stuff. It seems a bit odd to me; I kept thinking, shouldn't the doctor be the one personally checking the work? Just to confirm everything? It sounds like a small thing, but it's not, especially when we're talking about the face and one of the most delicate procedures out there. I'm a pretty outgoing person—I work in public relations, so maybe that's why I expect a certain level of engagement—but I still feel like a doctor should always maintain contact with their patients, regardless of who they are. I've built up some history with other doctors, and it's really nice when, years later, you can hear a friendly voice on the phone from someone who actually fixed a problem for you and made you happy again.
I hope it turns out that way, because I don't know how I'd handle any complications.
ugh.
Anyway, if anyone else has results from dr. Glumicica, it would be great to swap info—whether things went well or poorly—just so we can help each other out. I usually try to find a silver lining in everything, so maybe we'll even make some new friends :-) It's a small world!

Hey there! I just booked my first appointment with a state doctor. Quick question—do I need to bring any old test results or scans with me, or can I just show up empty-handed?

Hey there,

So, I've got a nose job scheduled for this June—purely cosmetic, obviously.

I was wondering if anyone knows how long you really have to baby your nose after the surgery? I've got a little one at home who’s basically a tiny whirlwind—loves to poke at me and pull on everything—so I'm honestly a bit nervous about how to manage all that. I know I'll need to be careful, but I'm just trying to get a sense of the timeline.

Thanks for any help!

How long do I actually need to be careful with my nose after surgery? I have a young child who loves to poke at me and pull on things, so I'm worried about how this is going to work out. I know I need to be cautious, but I want to know for how long.

Thanks for any help.

You definitely need to be extra careful for two months.
About a month and a half after my own procedure, my younger son accidentally bumped my head into something. I saw stars for a second. The pain was unbearable.
Luckily, my nose stayed intact.😁

After about six weeks, my younger son accidentally bumped my head—totally unintentional, of course—and man, I am telling you, everything just went black for a second. The pain was absolutely unreal.
Luckily, my nose stayed in one piece.😁

Oh boy... That actually scares the life out of me. Like, seriously. I really hope I don't end up changing my mind about this. 🤣
