So, who are you heading to see? 🙂

Glumicic 😬

You too? When’s your appointment?

I think Glumicic is a solid choice... honestly, I’d have already gone under the knife if I didn't have some health issues to sort out first. He seems really nice, though—just wish his sisters weren't such a handful, haha.

Oh man, that sounds awesome! Please, please let me know how everything goes once you get that nose job done 🙂 and if it actually doesn't hurt as much as people say 😁

I totally agree that they're a solid choice—they seem really nice, and honestly, even the nurses I dealt with there were super chill 🙂 👍

So
I just had surgery to fix a deviated septum—no cosmetic work involved—but my nose is currently so
swollen that I’m starting to get a little paranoid that the whole thing looks completely wrecked. I am honestly just
counting down the minutes until they finally take these nasal tampons out so I can see if everything actually turned out okay.

wait for them to take these tampons out just so I can check if everything actually looks okay.

Don't sweat it, it's totally normal to be swollen even if you only had the septum done. It'll go down before you know it. I remember this one girl at the Mayo Clinic who had the exact same thing done when I was there, and she was just as puffy as you are right now.🙂

My brother went through the exact same thing last year—just fixing the deviation without touching the aesthetics—and his face was terrifyingly swollen too, but everything settled into place perfectly fine eventually.

Honestly, I’m not even that scared of the actual surgery itself; it’s the thought of having those tampons pulled out that’s got me sweating. 🤣

Pulling out a tampon only takes a few seconds. Honestly, it’s more just an awkward, uncomfortable sensation than anything else, but you power through it and it's over before you know it. 🙂)

Honestly, it’s the surgery that’s got me totally spooked. It’s the outcome that really gets to me... brr.

for me, having that packing removed was easily the worst part. everything else went smoothly, except for that one moment.

Ugh, tell me about it. I know for some people that's a straight-up nightmare experience—I mean, everyone handles stuff differently, right?—but let's be real: it sure as hell isn't "pleasant."

Once the tampon was out, I wouldn't even let him touch my nose to clean it anymore—she'd practically start snarling at me🤣 so I just ended up doing it myself. Even now, thinking about getting a nose piercing makes me nervous about how she'd react when she feels something piercing the septum😳

Hi ladies, I might have a bit of a strange question for you all. On April 1st (and no, this isn't an April Fools' joke), I underwent nose surgery—an open rhinoplasty. They didn't touch the bone, just worked on a prominent apex by shortening and reshaping the cartilage. Overall, things went smoothly: no packing required, I’ve been rinsing five times a day, and there was minimal swelling or bruising around my eyes. No pain either. All in all, physically, it's going great.
But mentally? I’m struggling. There are moments when I look in the mirror and think my nose looks fantastic, and then there are moments where I absolutely hate it and feel like I’ve made a massive mistake. We haven't even taken the tapes off yet; that happens this Wednesday. Only then will I have a rough idea of the result, though I know the final outcome is still a long way off.
My question is this: is it actually possible for this to change my smile? My profile looks great, and my three-quarter view is fine too, but when I smile head-on, I feel like I look like Joan Rivers or Lil Kim at her worst. I’m worried that the tightness from the surgical tapes and the healing incisions is causing this sensation.
Is there any chance my smile will settle back to normal? Because if there was one thing I truly loved about my face, it was definitely my smile.

Has anyone here had a secondary rhinoplasty at the Mayo Clinic? If you have, would you mind sharing what your nose looks like after a second procedure? Thanks. 👍

What even is a secondary nose job? I'm thinking about getting mine fixed—specifically that bump on the bridge—too

Are you doing it for looks or just to breathe better? Also, can you tell me which doctor did your surgery?
