The power supply is pretty trash, but I guess it might hold up since that card is such a low power draw (GT 440). What GPU are you running right now?

Honestly, a GeForce 6 series card... I just know it's got 128MB and it’s basically useless at this point. But whatever, I ended up going with the GT 520 instead. It’s a low-power little thing, and even though it's definitely weaker than a GT 440, it actually does a decent job running newer games if you don't mind playing at a low resolution...

Forget about it. If you actually want to play stuff without breaking the bank, look for a used 4670 or 5670 instead. You won't get anything running on a GT 520. If you're buying new, you should probably aim for at least a GT 440, a 5670, or a 6670.

So, what do you think about this Sapphire HD 6570 with 1GB of GDDR3?? I found one for $183... Do you think my current rig could actually handle it??

Look, just grab a 5670 or a 6670, doesn't really matter which one... just make sure you get one with GDDR5 instead of 🙂 GDDR3...

You can grab it for $150 too... either way, it's definitely a step up from the GT 520, which honestly isn't much better than the Intel HD 3000 IGP 😬

By the way, check out post #4013; there's an HD 6670 with GDDR3 listed for $167. It’s got significantly more raw power than both the GT 440 and the HD 6570.

Greetings, I am a newcomer to this community! 😁

I am looking to treat myself to a new graphics card; PCI-E Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6870, 1GB DDR5, HDMI, Dual DVI, 2xDP and I am prepared to shell out up to $667! Since I am based in Pittsburgh, my only real option is "Links" which is currently the premier retailer in the city and the surrounding region!

My current system configuration:

Power Supply: - Corsair CX600
Motherboard: - P8H61/USB3
Processor: - Intel Core i5-2320 (LGA1155)
RAM: CORSAIR 8GB 1600

I have attached an image of the specific graphics card I am eyeing, so I would be interested to hear your expert opinions on its performance. My current card, an EN9800GT 1G GDDR3, simply can no longer keep up with modern demands and is in desperate need of a worthy successor! 😉

For $667, you can even snag a 6950 or a GTX 560 Ti on eBay, which are significantly better cards than this ☕

.

So, the graphics card I’m actually eyeing isn't exactly top-tier, yet my buddies keep insisting it's the best you can get for $667!
I mean, really—what was I thinking? I saw those dual cooling fans and assumed it was some kind of "god-tier" GPU for $667! 😁

I figured since it has dual fans, it must be some kind of beast compared to everything else up to $667! 😁

It's marked down to 5.3 at Best Buy $767

Is there any guarantee that my current power supply unit can actually handle this card without burning itself out? Specifically, does this particular GPU demand a massive amount of wattage just to function properly?

You’ll have plenty of breathing room for that GPU with that power supply—so you won't have anything to worry about... 🙂

What do you guys think about a 5670 with 512MB of DDR5?
Do you think my current setup can handle it??
RAM: 1GB
CPU: Intel Core i5 dual-core
PSU: 460W Linkworld
And an ASUS motherboard

Hey there... just a quick question regarding whether an upgrade is actually worth it...

I'm currently running an ASUS motherboard paired with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX, but someone offered me a P35 CF setup along with two gigabyte 3870s instead. I guess you could say I'm wondering if that's actually a good deal? Thanks.

Yeah, it's a decent little card to mess around with. You should probably grab another 1gb of RAM, maybe even 2.

i have an ASUS P8 and a radeon hd 4890 vapor, and some guy is offering me a P35 cf and 2x gigabyte 3870... is that a good deal? thanks

hey everyone
I was hanging out at Best Buy a few days back looking to pick up a new GPU. The guy behind the counter pointed me toward this GTS 450 with 512 MB, and from what I've been reading online, people seem pretty stoked about it—apparently, you can pull about 68 fps in Battlefield 3 at 1920 x 1080
While I was digging around, I stumbled upon this other version of the GTS 450 that comes with 2 GB. I spent some time comparing them on a few tech sites, but honestly, their benchmarks look identical
So now I'm stuck wondering which one is actually the better move for me. If anyone could weigh in and help me make sense of this, I’d really appreciate it

gts 450 512mb

gts 450 2gb

THANKS!

The GTS 450 with 512MB actually uses faster memory (GDDR5), so it’ll probably outperform the 2GB model with GDDR3, unless you're trying to push a 2560x1600 resolution 😬
