steelangler88 said:Ladies, how are you all dealing with the sutures? It’s been about 7 weeks since my surgery, and I can feel one sitting right in my nose, but it just won't budge! 🤷 I'm asking because after my first procedure, they all just popped out on their own within a few weeks, but these ones? Nothing... and honestly, it's driving me crazy.

About four days after my molds were removed, I decided to take matters into my own hands and snip a suture 😁 just to see if I could pull it through 😁 haha... let's just say things didn't go quite as planned and it ended up being a total mess!

General anesthesia—I actually went to see Dr. Bastaic recently, and I have to say, I was incredibly satisfied with the entire medical team. There were about five people in the OR with me during the procedure, and then the nurse stayed by my side through the night.

As for the anesthesia itself, I just felt a bit drowsy for a few hours afterward. No sore throat, I could get to the restroom on my own, no dizziness, no nausea... everything was pretty smooth, I guess.

sooooo good!!!!!👍

I'm getting up early tomorrow... my surgery is at 9 AM... wish me luck! I'll check back in later, assuming I don't end up throwing myself off a balcony from the sheer stress of it all LOL

Don't go throwing yourself anywhere, especially not after surgery—you'll probably just break your nose!! 😂

Maria Hall92 said:So, about four days after I finally pulled the mold, I ended up cutting the thread. Should I have waited longer? Maybe. But at that point, I just felt it was time to move forward. 😁 And I just kept pulling and pulling at it, over and over again. 😁 Oh man... everything just went completely sideways on me. Is it just me, or does life sometimes decide to throw every single obstacle in your path all at once? Honestly, I’m just sitting here wondering how things could spiral this quickly.

Oh my goodness, I honestly have goosebumps all over my skin right now.
Wait, what exactly do you mean by that? Are we really going to just gloss over everything that happened without any clarification?
I can't even begin to see my own ends from here, and honestly, even if I could, would I ever actually dare to go through with it?
What on earth would you even do if your nose suddenly started unraveling like a cheap knitted sweater? 😍

Glushac told me yesterday that my clock is basically ticking down for the next four or five weeks, and I can't help but wonder if he's actually right about how fast things are moving?
And now I find myself just counting down the days... much like how Sanader used to wait around in those baggy sweats.

Mine finally fell out after two months... maybe even longer, honestly... I can't quite remember 😁

I just remember being super confused about why they were staying in so long. Glushac told me he could just pull them out whenever, but he insisted it was actually better to leave them in as long as possible so they’d help hold my nose shape in place 😁

I’ve been dealing with this constant, nagging sensation at the tip—has anyone else ever dealt with that? And my nose and... well, everything else is just itching incessantly. I honestly can't tell if it's this specific mold or just the tampons 🙄 Honestly, the only thing that helps me unwind is hitting the shops, though I suspect my retail therapy habit might end up costing me more than the actual surgery 😁 People give me these really strange looks when I'm out, but I suppose I just couldn't care less 🙂

Kate Taylor59, are you still with us?

Kate Taylor59, you still alive there?

haha, so you're heading out for some shopping, huh?😁 Respect. 🤣
It’s perfectly normal to be itching when you've got that mold and those bandages pressed against you.😉

Oh, absolutely—everyone treats every tiny little thing like a massive ordeal after surgery! I was exactly the same way—my shoulder would ache, and I’d be convinced it was somehow linked to my nose 😂 🤣 For me, the absolute worst part was those last two days before they removed the mold; the itching was just unbearable! I honestly thought I was going to rip it off myself before Tony 😂 could get to it. And yes, you might bleed a little during the first couple of days, but that's totally normal. In my case, my eyes swelled up so much that I couldn't even look at the TV or read anything on the second day—so naturally, I just spent the whole time sleeping 🙂

I guess the thing is, it's almost like being on drugs—you feel and hear things differently, and then you're just indifferent to it all. Even afterward, it's the same because you can't really think straight. It isn't like going to the dentist where there's actual pain; it’s more like you’re fully aware of what's happening, but you're just in your own little world. You're relaxed, nothing hurts, and it doesn't feel traumatic at all. When I woke up, it was like nothing had even happened—just a bandage on my nose and I was ready to head home. Nothing special, really. 👍

Comforting 😁 thanks 😍

Well, I'm back... huge props to Dr. Dzepina and the incredible staff there.
I was bleeding quite a bit, which left the doctor looking a little disappointed, but once he checked my nose and spotted that deviation on the left side, he took care of that too. He did a whole bunch of things; zero pain, though my throat feels incredibly dry right now and it’s driving me nuts, but hey... the anesthesia was spot on! 🙂

Who would even believe I actually went through with this? I'm a total chicken xD

Ashley Gomez said:Well, I suppose I should share some good news with everyone too. 😍

Had my surgery yesterday, and the doctor says my nose looks just like a little candy. 😍 There's zero pain, just a bit of nosebleed here and there, and honestly, I'm still figuring out how to deal with these nasal swabs—my husband is much better at it than I am. 😁

The plan is to leave the swabs in until Friday, 😢 though I get to take the splint off this Saturday.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with things so far; it's been way easier than I anticipated.

Bravo, I am truly happy for you. 😉😍
I don't get my swabs out until Sunday morning...

How so?
I honestly can't even see my own stitches right now. And even if I could, I wouldn't dare touch them.
What happens if my nose starts unraveling like a cheap knitted sweater? 😍

Yesterday, the Actor told me that my stitches should start coming loose in about four or five weeks.
So now I’m just counting down the days... kind of like watching a high-stakes political trial unfold on TV...

Haha. 😁 Honestly, my stitch was sticking right out of my nose. And I don't mean that deep, high-up part inside the nostril—it was more off to the side, right near the septum. It was poking out so noticeably! I realized it was getting loose because little bits of mucus kept collecting around it, and it was driving me absolutely crazy. I finally thought, "Okay, time to head outside." Since it was so loose, I just gave it a little tug and it popped right out without any trouble at all. It felt like it was just sitting there, totally useless and limp, you know? But I didn't touch the other nostril because it wasn't visible. Hmm, looking back, I think that one might have vanished too; I went to check just now 🙂 LOL.. nothing was unraveling, it looks perfectly normal where it's supposed to be, hihihi..

How are things going with your nose? 🙂 Any chance I'll get to see it?

driftingmoose47 said:Sending so much love to the ladies who went under the knife these past few days—bravo to you all, and wishing you a speedy recovery! It’ll feel so much better once the swelling finally goes down. 👍 Just a quick thought regarding Tony's anesthesia: personally, my experience was totally fine. It felt like a localized boost, but honestly, I didn't see, hear, or feel a single thing... looking at these threads, it seems like maybe only the younger patients or those having surgery very recently are noticing anything different... 😕 I still have to ask, though—has anyone actually had a crooked nose straightened by Tony? I need to know if I should commit to him for my own procedure! 🤷

Hey there... sorry I've been a little MIA lately, I haven't quite had the bandwidth to reply to everyone. But listen, I was actually a patient of Tony's for a deviated septum correction, and from what I can see right now, he did an absolutely stellar job straightening it out! I'm just crossing my fingers that once the swelling subsides, it doesn't drift back to how it used to be, haha. Now, it really depends on how your nose is crooked. In my case, it was just one side that looked slightly off due to an accident, so he basically just had to adjust that one side to bring everything back into alignment. During our consultation, he was actually pretty candid—he mentioned it might stay a little asymmetrical and wasn't entirely sure how perfect the result would be. He actually made me a bit nervous! But I figured, hey, what else am I going to do? In the end, he did an incredible job, and even he admitted he was pleasantly surprised by how straight it turned out. You definitely need to go in and ask him directly.
As for the anesthesia, I could hear and feel everything happening, but I didn't feel any actual pain. It was almost like when someone is filing down a fingernail—you definitely feel the sensation, but there's no real pain involved.

It’s been about fifteen days since I underwent nasal surgery to fix a deviated septum under Dr. Jurlin at Cedars-Sinai. Honestly, the relief is incredible; I can actually breathe through my nose again, and after a decade-long struggle with dependency on nasal sprays, I’ve finally been able to toss them in the trash. My medical journey leading up to this was quite a mess—I spent months bouncing between clinics in Indianapolis and Columbus, but none of them could even land on a correct diagnosis, misidentifying everything as acute sinusitis. Fast forward to a few days ago, when I went in for a follow-up appointment. It was an absolute circus. After sitting around waiting for two and a half hours, I was ushered into an exam room by some random doctor who wasn't even my surgeon. The entire "consultation" lasted maybe thirty seconds; he basically just told me to keep rinsing my nose and walked out. That was it. It wasn't until I started reading discussions on this forum that I realized I still have surgical sutures in the tip of my nose that feel like tiny, irritating staples. Why is it that these doctors seem to despise actual conversation? They treat every single question like an inconvenience rather than addressing it. Or am I just being incredibly naive about how the medical establishment works?🤷

Honestly, I can breathe so much better now, and I’ve finally ditched those nasal sprays after being hooked on them for ten years straight. I previously sought treatment in Indianapolis and Columbus, but they couldn't even land on the right diagnosis. Well, I went in for a follow-up a few days ago, and it was an absolute disaster. After sitting there waiting for two and a half hours, I ended up seeing some completely different doctor. The whole exam lasted maybe thirty seconds—all he did was tell me to keep rinsing my nose. That was it. It wasn't until I checked this forum that I realized I still have sutures in the tip of my nose that feel like little splinters. Why is it that doctors refuse to actually talk to you? They just brush off every single question! Or am I just being naive here?🤷

Oh man, that sounds absolutely brutal... but look, listen... it’s kind of like dealing with stitches. If everything went smoothly during the procedure and you can breathe clearly again, try not to let the anxiety get to you. And regarding those threads in the tip of your nose? Those are standard in almost every nasal surgery; they’ll eventually just fall out on their own. The main thing is to avoid picking at it. If a little scab forms inside the tip, just leave it alone to crust over; it’ll dry up and flake off naturally in a few days. By the way, how are you doing your nasal rinses? No one ever really gave me any specific instructions on how to do mine properly... 🤷

Wait, you actually went shopping while carrying tampons and medical molds? 😁 LOL I would actually die. You're a legend, seriously—haha! Personally, I spent the whole time trying to hide so nobody would stare at me. I absolutely hated it.😁 hhahah
