Does anyone happen to know a specialist who performs closed reductions for a broken nose? I’ve already consulted two plastic surgeons and one general ENT, but nothing has really moved the needle... Does anyone know of someone, anywhere in the US, who actually does this?

That’s great, Kate Taylor59, thanks so much😍. I’m actually really curious—is it even possible to do a closed reduction for a cracked septum? It hasn't shifted or crooked after all these months, and there's still no swelling, just some minor clicking. I’m planning on seeing a few different specialists to see who can actually pull it off...🙄

With Glusac, there are noses I actually like (looking at the photos online), but then there are some that are just a disaster to me; one female patient looks like a pig because they lifted her nose way too high... Tončić has 35 years of experience with surgeries, while Glusac has maybe 14 or 15... which, I guess, doesn't necessarily mean he's worse...
The photos from Tončić look like they were taken with a high-end camera, so everything is clear, but unfortunately, with Glusac, I can't see the details nearly as well...
Some people said there isn't much difference when it comes to Tončić... hmmm, I don't know about that... if you look at the first few pages, one girl posted her before and after shots... the difference was huge... and in the end, you still never truly know, because it's all so subjective... you're basically gambling, and whatever happens, happens...

I think everyone's opinion on how much a nose changes is incredibly relative, primarily because none of you actually know what the patient requested or how much of a transformation they were aiming for in the first place.
Based on photos, sure, you can judge whether you like something or not, but you'll never truly understand the underlying desires and decisions behind any given nose job.

Personally, I'm not a fan of noses that, if you catch my drift, look like they just come straight out of the center and are perfectly flat, and I see that Tončić does that.

Regarding the anesthesia, he does it that way because it's the cheaper option—that's why it costs $10$0.00—so maybe offer to pay extra for general anesthesia if you actually like his work...

There are other surgeons in Los Angeles besides Tončić, and obviously, he attracts people mainly through his pricing.

I believe Tončić doesn't perform rhinoplasty under general anesthesia regardless of whether someone is willing to pay more or not; personally, he told me that getting wisdom teeth pulled hurts countless times more than a nose job, so nobody really asks for general anesthesia anyway.😁

And as for price, that's highly relative and has nothing to do with the quality of work; being more expensive doesn't make someone better, and being cheaper doesn't make them worse.
The Tončić family is often featured in various magazines and shows, so they don't necessarily have inflated prices (for nose surgery).
Dr. Bastajić isn't exactly a household name either, and I doubt most of you even knew about him until reading this forum (myself included), so the price is around $2,000-$2,200.
The point is: my surgery with Tončić was $600 less than my mom's with Bastajić, and my nose turned out much prettier.😁 and

If I were in your shoes, I’d suggest setting those Pinterest photos aside for a moment... at least initially. It’s probably better to just sit down with your surgeon and be brutally honest about what specifically bothers you about your own nose. Tell them, "this part feels too wide," or "this area looks too large," or "there's this bump here that bugs me." If you approach it that way, you can actually work together to pinpoint exactly what needs fixing. Once you've established that baseline, then—and only then—can you show them a few reference photos to see if any of those styles align with what you've already identified. 😉

Well, here's an update from my side—I had my surgery yesterday and everything went surprisingly smoothly. They removed the tampon this morning, and I finally have a normal noooooossssss!!!!!! I mean... if my quick glance this morning was any indication, things are looking great. I am honestly beyond thrilled with Dr. Glusac—he’s been wonderful. I'm getting the mold removed this Tuesday, so I'll be sure to send over some before and after photos for you all. Best wishes!!!!!! 🙏

Don't mention it🙂. Apparently, Davor Dzepina is top-tier... then there's Tončić—supposedly some issues with anesthesia—and everyone else is an ENT, including Bastaic... they're all based out of Los Angeles, while Glusac is down in Miami😉

Does anyone have any advice on the best way to clean my nose before my follow-up appointment?

I don't mean to be negative here, but can you guys actually tell what your nose is really going to look like this early on? Most people seem to know within a few days if they’re happy with the results or not—but for me, my nose has been changing for an entire month now and it looks nothing like how it did at the start. 🤔

Well, it’s definitely going to change... but since I used to have that "parrot" profile—really high with a huge hump—I was hoping that maybe, if nothing else, it would at least be flatter and smaller now. It’s certainly more attractive than it was before, I think. 🙂

How many of you went under with local anesthesia versus general? I'm genuinely curious because, honestly, you really shouldn't mess around when it comes to general anesthesia...

Yeah, I have—all the time. Swabbing things with sticks, using thermal water, spraying various nasal sprays and drops... you name it. My nose was so incredibly stuffed up from a cold that I couldn't even sleep through the night without having to get up...

There's no way I'm letting anyone mess with my local setup... General coverage is the only way to go.🙏 Because of all the comments floating around here, I "little" bit panicked—but honestly, if I had to go through it all over again right now, I’d do it exactly the same way without even thinking twice...
