It was such a highlight when EL, DE, and SAUNDSISTEM took the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

But honestly, they were a bit of a letdown. I personally enjoyed it, mostly because I was still riding that high from watching the New York band perform; I actually ended up messing up my knee again from jumping around too much, so I was already a bit physically compromised. Still, the set itself wasn't anything special. Their newer material just lacks that certain spark, which is a real shame.

Adam Moore said:So, here’s my little report from the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Ugh.

The guy's name is James, not David 😕
and by the way—in American English, we say "general"! 😠

Megan Rodriguez44 said:It was meant to be rhetorical, you nerd! 😁

IT WASN'T RHETORICAL—it was just a pointless question because you clearly didn't have anything to say! "RHETORICAL" doesn't just mean you aren't expecting an answer!! 😠😠😠 OK?!?!??!

I guess people are just totally over that idol, which explains these comments, but yeah—I could've easily avoided all this if I'd just listened to Pendulum 🙄 like I usually do 😁

I caught the name mistake right when I went back to proofread and fix the post. Personally, I think the way I wrote it looks better.

I was only asking rhetorically 😁

Well, that is precisely how the man chose to present himself.🤷

So, here’s my question: is it actually worth wearing rubber boots today? 😁
The mud should be dry by now, I think. 🤷

Mud is just mud—it takes days to dry out. Honestly, I don't get why everyone is freaking out; I’ve spent two nights in a row trekking through the muck in my sneakers. At the end of the day, if you get a little dirty, you just walk it off. 🤷

Kevin Chavez3 said:Look, if you knew rain was coming, why on earth didn't you just buy a raincoat yourself? 🤷 What exactly is the festival staff supposed to provide—rubber boots, windbreakers, wool scarves, and thick socks—just because a cold front rolled in? 🙏 🙏 🙏

And who says I didn't have my raincoat and everything ready to go? 😉

My point wasn't about my own gear—it was directed at the incompetent organizers behind these Lollapalooza-style festivals who clearly haven't a clue how to manage basic weather contingencies.

I mean, really—the VIP section was handing out these cute little swag bags filled with random trinkets, yet they couldn't handle the elements. 😉

Give people a scrap of cellophane and they'll still be thanking you five years later. Sheep are more than ready to be sheared by the corporations... 🙏 🙏 🙏

I think you missed the point entirely, don't you? 😉

Elizabeth Torres43 said:Why all this negativity? If you weren't feeling one act, you could've just wandered over to the other two stages—there was plenty of variety to go around... It feels pointless to trash the whole thing when there was something for everyone if you actually looked for it. Honestly, if you claim to be a real fan, let's see some actual substance instead of just venting... And regarding Billy Idol—the guy has been rocking the exact same hair, the same clothes, and the same hits for decades. You knew exactly what you were getting into... so complaining that he’s "trying to take us back to the 80s" is kind of missing the point, isn't it? 🤣

Exactly. There were so many stages running at once that anyone could have found their niche somewhere 🤷

That's why I ended up splitting off from my group—they weren't really vibing with his set, so we all went our separate ways. They hung out by Pendulum while I stuck with Billy, and then we all regrouped once everything wrapped up. 😍

I have no idea where you all were getting your wristbands checked, but I walked in yesterday from the left side, past those pale tents where they hand them out (so I bypassed that whole area), and nobody bothered to check mine once I was through.

It felt way too much like a retirement home show... honestly, it was a little awkward to watch.😁

Hi there!
I wanted to share that my experience at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival so far has been absolutely wonderful. There was something for everyone to enjoy, and even the gloomy weather couldn't dampen the spirit of the party.
I traveled here with two close friends and two buddies visiting from Germany—they were actually just passing through Cologne on their way down to the coast.
We are having such a blast, and honestly, Chicago is such a fantastic destination for young people; the people here are just incredibly kind and welcoming.
I was actually here last summer as well, and I even went through with my vision correction during that trip.
My parents, who were visiting from the States for vacation last summer, actually had their LASIK eye surgery done at a local hospital here.

I’ve truly fallen in love with Chicago.

It was honestly amazing!!! I had such a blast, and they actually blew Elcid out of the water. Elcid was pretty terrible after the third song, though they did pick it up right at the end.

Still nothing posted regarding day three... I just walked through my front door, absolutely exhausted...

Day three wasn't just better than day two; the lineup was unpredictably, brutally incredible...

The Broken social scene were phenomenal... I nearly drained my entire battery on them almost immediately... I'll upload some clips to YouTube tomorrow...

Caribou... truly a class act. He played some of my personal favorites (leave house, Bowls, Odessa) right before The Flaming Lips... the man is a legend...

The Flaming Lips... wow. Just... wow. What a show. I am completely floored... and seeing The Leaves was intense... 🙏🙏🙏🙏

New Pornstastic was great—actually even better live than I anticipated, which surprised me... I caught Tight Fit and then settled in for Massive...

I don't even need to describe Massive... it was a musical orgasm... My only regret is that they haven't toured with Karmacom yet...

Sadly, I missed Flogging Molly, but I'm hoping they make another appearance soon...

It was interesting to watch The Flaming Lips fans listening to the Broken social scene, and vice versa later on... The Broken social scene also showed up to support their compatriot Caribou...
