Audio Bullys were killer 🙏🙏 totally blew me away
!!! solid show, guy was a bit campy but damn fun, and you couldn't help but jump along to those little tunes 👍
Billy Idol was a bore
Pendulum was just mediocre...

Oh, you absolutely can. ☕

Raymond Barrett12 said:Pendulum is basically like listening to some trance track crossed with Scooter—it's just background noise for an upscale ski resort in Aspen.

Honestly, Pendleton isn't really my thing either. A bit too much teen angst for me. I probably would've been into them about ten years ago...

After all those massive seasons of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, rock shows, and everything in between, I still haven't mastered the art of scheduling so I don't miss out on anything I actually want to see. If my plan is to write, grab a drink, and just wander around... it’s just not happening.

Then there’s that moment where they just end up embracing in one spot. 🤷

Looks like the turnout at InMusic Brands was a bit thinner than last year, I guess.

If I'm not busy writing, I'm either grabbing a drink or just wandering aimlessly around. It's a mess.

The answer is multitasking. 😁 You can easily knock out at least two of those things at once, and if you really push yourself, you can juggle even more. 😁

Listening to some Embryonic again today. Honestly, it’s either going to be an absolute smash or total trash—there isn't much middle ground with them, I guess. It would be pretty killer if they played Speak to Me by Floyd, though. I mean, since they already recorded 😁
, right?

I caught a set by Audio Bullys, and honestly, those guys are absolute legends. I’ll admit, after listening to just two of their tracks before the show, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but seeing them live was a different story altogether—truly fantastic. Perhaps they indulge in a bit too much banter into the microphone at times, but does that really matter when the energy is that high? It was perfectly fine...
I gave LCD a quick listen, but frankly, the whole thing felt sluggish and incredibly tedious...
The absolute highlight of the night, the crowning glory, had to be Pendulum. They are absolute titans. I haven't experienced an atmosphere quite that electric or seen such seamless engagement with the crowd in quite some time. They truly proved themselves to be the only act at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival worth seeing; every single track they played seemed to outdo the last in terms of pure adrenaline.🙂My only grievance, if I dare call it that, is that they didn't perform an encore—though looking around, it seems nobody else did either. And wouldn't it have been wonderful if they had used an encore to play my absolute favorite, Hold Your Colour?
As for the songs from their new album, they are undeniably superior to their previous effort (though, let's be honest, they still don't quite reach the heights of the very first one).
And I must mention, they actually managed to get the entire crowd to squat in unison!🙂

By the way, I still have my festival wristband which is still valid, but since I can't make it back, if anyone knows the secret to removing one without snapping the strap, please reach out; I'm happy to part with it for a very reasonable price.🙂

Alright, everyone, I might try to dig in and post everything at once, but honestly, I don't see the fun in that. 😁
And you, quietcobra, if you were actually being a decent kid, you’d just give me the bracelet for free. 🙂 But then again, it’s built so well it won't tear, even if you never take it off.

On that plastic "button," you have a "mushroom" shape that three prongs grip onto. You can gently pry them apart using a needle (I used a histology needle, but a standard sewing needle will suffice, just be careful not to snap it and injure yourself 🙂), one by one, while sliding something underneath them to prevent them from snapping back into place (for instance, a thick piece of aluminum foil from a medicine box or something similar). In the process, you’ll slightly buff down both the mushroom and the prongs, but they will still hold firmly once you snap it shut again.

Just give it to a friend or some high school girl you're writing songs for; trying to sell bracelets is beneath you...

So, how was the vibe at the Billy Idol show earlier?
For me, things felt pretty stale and honestly just kind of a drag, so I ended up heading back over to catch Pendulum instead. 😬

Yesterday's lineup was kind of a letdown, honestly 😢.

I was listening to Morcheeb, or maybe Audio Bullys, or whatever else they played, and those cheers from the crowd... man. Those guys were a mess. I can barely even remember Morcheeb, and honestly, the only decent part about Audio Bullys was those little interludes they played between sets. That was about it.

Billy Idol looked pretty rough, too. It felt like he was desperately trying to stretch his DNA just to convince us we were still living in the 80s. He didn't quite pull it off, though. I sort of felt like I was at some random rock show held at a local Fire Station. 😢

Maybe Flogging Molly will actually be good today.

You'll sand down the mushroom and the teeth a bit in the process, but it'll still hold up great once you snap it back together.

Just give it away to a buddy or that girl in fifth period you're writing songs for; selling bracelets is just lame...

Or just rip it apart like a true rebel and glue it back together with Super Glue so it looks brand new. Honestly, nobody will even notice unless the guy checking your wrist decides to spend five minutes inspecting your bracelet.

Adam Moore said:either you just play it smart like a true American hustler and cover up that massive security seal with some heavy-duty glue so it looks untouched, or you just hope for the best. Honestly, there’s zero visible difference unless the guy running the gate decides to spend five whole minutes squinting at your wristband.

What kind of "control" are we even talking about here? I just gave him a little wave while walking by, and since my sleeve was pulled down over the band, he could only see the very edge of it anyway. I could have been waving a random scrap of plastic from a takeout container and he wouldn't have known the difference. 😬

Rise Against was actually pretty solid. But honestly, after about five songs, it felt like they were just running through the motions again. LCD was a massive letdown, though—I mean, where was the production design? Where were the lights, or even a decent, punchy sound system? It’s usually a killer British-inspired soundtrack, but last night they just sounded thin and incredibly dull. Audio Bullys were way too loud, I guess, but they managed to hold their own for a few tracks. As for Pendulum, they felt like a pale imitation of when I first saw them; without the strobe lights and that massive wall of sound, you lose that whole sensory overload vibe. !!! From what I could see, they were oscillating a bit too much. Billy sounded like he was playing at a wedding. The lineup was fun enough, though: Travis Barker, Nikki Sixx, Derek Whilbey, Manowar on bass, and even that guy from The Sopranos on keys.

😢🙂
Here's the plan: quietcobra uses glue, needles, and knives to strip that thing off, hands it to someone actually going, and then that person just lends it to me so I can attend Flogging Molly and give it back later. 😍 Totally reasonable logic right there. 🙂

😢 😢 😢 Flogging Molly 🙂
