I tried my best😁
I can't even get out of bed without hearing someone try to drag me down just because they're miserable. It's exhausting.😠

I haven't seen you around lately, Mr. Wrong. Last I heard, you were out somewhere being an idiot and making a mess of things.

It's all just a dream, isn't it? 👋 👋 :luxk: :luxs: :luxy:
Socially conscious🙏

For God's sake, it's an ISLAND. There is one single bridge. Just buy a ticket.

Everyone's freaking out because the IRS just announced they're ramping up audits on officials😳
After reading this piece in the New York Times, I bet nobody will spot the pattern... 🙏
And nothing else happening during the second day of Coachella???

I won't bring my doctor's note in until I'm actually back at work. My boss doesn't report anything to corporate in the meantime, so HR only finds out I'm on medical leave once I show up again.😬
coppermarlin81 said:nothing going on for the second day of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival???
Nothing. My girlfriend is dealing with some health issues, and I really don't feel like wandering around alone. Plus, today's lineup isn't even that great.😳
What about you?

LOL, sounds like a classic old-school bureaucracy move. 🙏

Two unexpected weddings popped up this month, and they ended up costing way more than my concert ticket combined. 🤷 🙄
Not like I feel like I missed out on anything huge, though. 🤷

Maybe, but I’d just call it having a "good relationship with the boss."😬
coppermarlin81 said:but I don't feel like I missed out on ANYTHING BIG.🤷
Definitely. Yesterday was fine, but if I hadn't gone, I wouldn't have missed anything spectacular.🤷

I haven't witnessed this level of sheer lack of class and raw human ignorance in a long, long time, certainly not until seeing it unfold at the festival today.
Specifically, watching people pelt performers with objects during their sets was the absolute pinnacle of American stupidity! I felt secondhand embarrassment just watching crowds hurling stuff at rappers; look, I’m not even a fan of hip-hop, but that was an absolute disaster waiting to happen. First off, you could easily blind someone, and second, those expensive instruments can get trashed.
And then things really went south when some idiot actually clocked Moby right in the chest, forcing him to literally plead with the crowd to stop throwing things before they finally listened.
I always try to tell myself that not all Americans are cut from the same cloth... but honestly, no matter where I go, I run into this same brand of primal behavior. Whether it's on the subway, out on the street, in a corner store, or at a concert... it feels like we're all just unrefined peasants who aren't capable of anything more sophisticated than listening to Madonna or Johnny Cash!

I wasn't at the Nerd convention, so I can't say for sure what the vibe was like there, but when I was at the Moby show, seeing them throw those glowing—what do you call them?—things into the crowd... honestly, I had almost the exact same thought as you.
It’s just genuinely awkward for those of us who actually showed up for a concert rather than a football game between two tribal clubs still clinging to their ancient rituals.

Honestly, people throwing stuff at performers during a set was the absolute peak of American stupidity. I don't even like rap, but watching crowds pelt those rappers with objects was just painful to witness. First off, you could actually hit someone in the eye, and second, they're going to wreck expensive instruments.
And then later, when someone actually clocked Moby in the chest and the guy had to literally beg the crowd to stop throwing things, only then did they settle down.
I mean, I always try to tell myself that not all Americans are the same... but everywhere I go, it’s some flavor of primitivism. On the subway, on the street, in a grocery store, at a concert... it feels like we're all just a bunch of hillbillies who aren't capable of anything beyond listening to Madonna or Johnny Cash!
Too true. Though, personally, I always feel a bit silly blaming "Americans" as a whole for stuff like this. I don't think it's a national trait; it's just that idiots do stupid things. And these were definitely idiots—a minority, I'm sure.
As for the lineup, Art Brut was good, everything else was pretty meh.

Honestly, Moby absolutely killed it! 😁 That female vocalist was incredible—what an unbelievable voice she has!! 🙏
My only grievance is that I ended up getting trampled by this wild crowd jumping all over me (and I was wearing glasses!), mostly because they heard a few heavy beats in his set and decided to act like they were at some intense mosh pit... 🙄 It was rough—I took a couple of hits right to the elbow. ☕

Moby had all the potential to be absolutely stellar, yet he ended up just being... decent. There were certain elements I was really looking forward to that never quite materialized, and honestly, he sort of watered down the whole experience by bringing in that new singer... such a missed opportunity for what could have been a much tighter set...
As for the crowd reaction, they seemed way more hyped for the Nerd than for Moby, so... yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of that direction, though I suppose Moby still managed to pull a better crowd than the Nerd did.

I honestly don't know; that nerd was mind-numbingly tedious, and the performance highlights were just a repetitive loop of Kinks and Jethro Tull tracks played earlier. I bailed after twenty minutes to head toward the Nokia stage, though I eventually fled to the metal stage, under the assumption that I’d find a crowd of white guys, pure testosterone, or at least some attractive fourteen-year-old girls to steal glances at 🙈. My expectations were met, and as an added bonus, I got to witness a few forum members behaving like absolute savages by attacking others 😳. Anthrax was the highlight of the day, especially for a rare outlier like myself who doesn't typically listen to metal 😵. Long hair, a liter of wine, balls, 🙂*1000—absolute perfection. Now I’m actually kicking myself for missing Hatebreed and whatever else everyone was raving about yesterday.
Moby... I never listen to him unless he happens to catch my ear on the radio, so I was somewhat hoping for something beautiful. It wasn't. In my view, you either play everything with full intensity even if it's less aggressive, or you send the singers and musicians packing and let the DJ set absolutely hammer. This middle ground is just mediocre.
Driven by boredom and disappointment, I retreated toward Brooklyn... because if I am forced to stare at a scrawny weirdo without a shirt on, I’d at least prefer the music to bang like Iggy Pop. After two songs, I realized that Moby might actually be decent after all 🙂
In terms of forum currency, the rating would be:
Nerd *1/2
S. Garcia **1/2 (the default score any ska/reggae band receives simply for being bouncy, which also happens to be the highest possible score)
Anthrax **** + a bonus 1/2 because they absolutely crushed the sound system + a thank you for expanding my horizons
Moby ***1/2 (it feels awkward to give him less since I can see how much people love him)
Brooklyn 🤮
Anyway, the theory regarding the superiority of the white race has been confirmed once again.

After just two songs, Brooklyn totally killed it and played Ace of Spades!
Quickly now:
art brut ******************* :S :S🙏 🙏 :S:Ss**** and so on
editors 🤮
nerd ***1/2
Brooklyn ****
And honestly, screw Sergeant Garcia—he played for two and a half hours, completely trashed the schedule, and because of him, I missed Moby. It’s not even like I’m heartbroken over missing that bald guy, but reggae/ska bands shouldn't be on my radar for a single second, let alone for two and a half hours. Get outta here!

though I have to admit, once the beat hits, I find myself jumping around like a total maniac.🙈
