Adam Moore3 said:The guy barely listed any actual specs—motherboard, CPU, PSU, SSD, or what this "500GB fast drive" actually is. 😵

All we know is there's an RX 580 in there. Whether that 8-core FX8300 CPU is a decade old (which, let's be honest, is highly likely) or some Core i7 (highly unlikely at that price point), we have zero clue.
And since we're flying blind on the processor, we're also guessing on everything else—the RAM, the motherboard, the whole works.

Get the full breakdown before trying to judge it, but right off the bat? This listing feels like a total bait-and-switch... If it actually had an Intel chip in there, he probably would've shouted it from the rooftops.

Thanks man, I had a gut feeling something was off so I figured I'd check.

What's your take on this one? https://www.craigslist.org/fsl/computer/pc-gaming-desktop...listing-38752470

This looks like a solid deal, though I'd ask about the power supply.

Well, damn... sold it today, just a few hours before I even picked up the phone to call...

What do you think about the one posted above? I'm mostly curious about the GPU since I want to hook it up to a 4K TV...🕺

I didn't get a chance to ask, but it looks like there's no SSD included?? Am I seeing that right?

Amazon has Fire sticks available

From the cheap $15 lite versions up to the $23 4K models—if you're interested.

but you'd have to ship it to an address in the States

Wait, how am I supposed to use that to hook my PC up to the TV as a monitor???

Did you honestly think I was addressing you specifically up there? 😁 I was merely pointing toward the action.

If you're thinking about actually gaming in 4K... forget about used builds for $500. You need serious GPU horsepower for 4K gaming.
If it's just for movies, you can get by with the integrated graphics on an Intel Core i5-12400 in a new build for about $1000.

Now, if you just want to watch movies, you can probably get by with the integrated graphics on an Intel Core i5-12400 inside a budget build for around $1000.

Look, I'm not even a gamer—I don't play games!

I've got this laptop https://www.bestbuy.com/site/laptop.../p/EK000467298

but I'm pretty sure it doesn't support 4K. If it does, please set me straight!

If it doesn't, could you please send me some links for builds under $3-$107

Thanks in advance!

It works without any issues, but did you even bother trying to hook up your laptop to the TV before rushing out to buy a whole new PC? 🙂

Phew... Well, thanks, I guess I can breathe now...

The thing is, when I hooked my laptop up to yours, the settings suggested a lower resolution than what the 4K TV actually supports. I went ahead and forced it to the native TV resolution anyway—which was higher than "recommended"—and now I'm low-key paranoid that I'm pushing the hardware too hard. Like, am I gonna fry my motherboard or the integrated graphics or something? 🙂 🕺

Ps. I had one more quick question—if I end up grabbing this motherboard and processor combo, do you think my current 600W Platinum power supply will cut it, or am I going to have to shell out for a beefier unit?

It'll cover the board and CPU just fine, but once you start adding high-end components and a solid GPU, using a budget power supply like that doesn't really make sense.

Yeah, yeah, I hear you loud and clear. Thanks for the heads-up.
