I'm not sure what kind of setup you were running before, but if we're talking DDR3, you're definitely going to need to pick up some new RAM too...

Yeah, it's DDR3—I actually already picked up the RAM, so now I just need to find a processor and a motherboard. Then, down the road, I'll probably look into a GPU, assuming the rumors about prices dropping actually turn out to be true.

Just don't go picking some bottom-of-the-barrel power supply. It isn't just about raw wattage; you need to actually look at those 80+ certifications—Bronze, Gold, whatever. That matters way more than some inflated number on the box. Honestly, it’d be smart to check some reviews to see how they actually hold up under testing. I'm not sure which GPU you're aiming for, but you probably won't need massive amounts of juice. If the unit is high quality, 500W should get the job done.
I actually grabbed one of these recently, but unfortunately, it's out of stock right now—says it's coming back soon. Just keep an eye out; if it pops up again, I think it's a solid deal for $133.

Do you think what I've got running right now will be enough for the time being?

Maybe. It’s not even really about whether it's "enough." It's about how stable those voltage rails actually are. You don't want some cheap power supply frying your brand-new components. It'll probably hold up for a while, though.

Your power supply only has one 6-pin PCIe connector and the quality is pretty low, so I definitely wouldn't dream of hooking up a card like a 6600 or a 3060 to it.

Nah, I’m not really looking to dive into that either—I was just thinking, once I finally get the motherboard, processor, and RAM all installed, it should probably hold up for a while, right?

That processor doesn't have integrated graphics, so you're definitely going to need a dedicated GPU.

I actually already have a graphics card—got all my gear ready—it’s just that I’m picking up these three specific parts right now, and my old GPU should be able to hang on for a little while longer for what I need to do. That's really why I was asking if this power supply would be enough to handle things.

Total blowout on the Linksys deal—everything was snatched up before the sale even officially kicked off.

Hehe..
Was it the 6800XT?
Or maybe a 6600XT or a 6650XT...

Those prices were great... well, they *were* great. 😁

ASROCK B450M PRO4 R2.0 motherboard, Intel B460, mATX, model ASROCK B450M PRO4 R2.0

I’m thinking about picking up this processor along with this motherboard—what do you guys think? Thanks!

So, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered something. I went with this CPU, but since that specific motherboard wasn't available, I ended up grabbing a Dell Prime B450 instead. Honestly, within a day and a half of overthinking where to shop and what to get, that Asrock board just vanished from five different stores I checked. It was like it disappeared into thin air. Anyway, everyone kept pushing the Dell Prime on me, and some people even claimed it was slightly better.

Did I make the right call switching to that motherboard?

Looks like some leftover Radeon RX 580 8GB cards are finally popping up in stores over at $500. Honestly? Not a bad deal if you're just trying to scrape together an entry-level gaming rig.

That’s not exactly a steal. They used to go for $667 when they were new.

The price seems fair. I actually sold my RX 480 8GB back about eight months ago for $1000, even without a warranty!

Radeon RX 6600 is basically a steal for $666.

Edit...
Looks like I'm seeing some chatter about this on another thread already, so maybe I'm just late to the party!🙂

The big difference here? Crypto mining completely collapsed, so now you see these things flooding sites like eBay for maybe $800--$333

Looking for some solid recommendations for a black case. It’s an ATX build featuring a 13600k, though the GPU isn't anything to write home about.
I have zero interest in tempered glass, RGB nonsense, or fancy aesthetics. I just want decent airflow—maybe something with a mesh front—and fans that won't sound like a jet engine taking off inside my room.
Ideally, I'd like to keep the total cost under $167 😵

And I'd prefer not to blow more than $167 😵

on it.

I've owned this one for five years. Honestly, for this price point, you won't find anything better or quieter.
