Is this a total franchise reboot? Yes, though it draws heavy inspiration from the game RE 2.

Can we look forward to its release this November?

Animated films aren't garbage! Why would anyone think that? They are incredibly popular among RE fans, serving as essential expansions to the RE universe. Besides, this year marks the 25th anniversary of RE, and we have received so much for the occasion: the RE 8 game, an animated Netflix series, a Netflix live-action series, this reboot film inspired by the animation, and the RE 2 game.

It is such a shame that Romero never actually filmed his project back in 1998, despite all his hard work on it. Does anyone else find that tragic? If you're curious, here is the link:

Romero put together the trailer for RE2. Brad Renfro is playing Leon, who was actually a pretty big deal in those 90s flicks.

Honestly? This looks like total garbage already. I’ve never even heard of this director before, and from what I can see, his whole vibe is just straight-up trash cinema. To top it off, the lead actors feel like washed-up nobodies who don't even come close to looking like the characters from the game.

So, what would that even be—some kind of prequel? I’ve never been much of a fan of those.

Honestly, Romero’s been hitting way more misses than bullseyes in his recent films...

So basically they just reset everything and decided to make a movie based on that original Resident Evil game where everything goes down in that massive mansion
It’s kind of hard to tell from those first few photos, but honestly, this is giving me major B-movie vibes 🙄

Let's just move past Anderson and Mile already; honestly, expectations aren't exactly sky-high anyway.

The first two movies actually looked kind of decent, but things just went downhill from there and kept getting worse and worse.

Only the first one counts...

I found the fourth installment to be just as solid, particularly that opening sequence and the score, which really got my adrenaline pumping.
As for this one, I’m going in with zero expectations or hype, mainly because they completely missed the mark by failing to cast the right actor for Leon S. Kennedy, who is essentially the face of RE.

Seriously, where is the trailer or even just a tiny teaser? Without the fans, how will anyone else know this is coming? It is truly unprofessional behavior on their part.
Major American networks release teasers six months in advance. Is it possible they are simply terrified of the backlash regarding the casting, specifically for Leon S. Kennedy?

This looks incredibly cheap and amateurish—honestly, like a DIY project gone wrong.

The trailer is decent enough, though I have to say the CGI looks pretty pathetic. I’m really praying it doesn't turn out that bad in the actual movie. Still, I’m holding onto a sliver of hope... I'm looking forward to hitting the theater for this one, mainly because some of the scenes and locations shown in these trailers look like they were lifted straight from the video game. :cheers:
It's great to see the Licker back in action, along with those zombie dogs and a few other monsters. I'm crossing my fingers that they throw a Grave Digger at us as a surprise, plus maybe a few more creatures too. 😁
