ironcyclist78 said:I listen to Rhapsody every now and then. At first, their militaristic lyrics rubbed me the wrong way—honestly, they were a bit much—but I quickly realized there’s way more symbolism buried in there than meets the eye. They were actually pretty fascinating to listen to while I was diving into The Lord of the Rings; the two just sync up perfectly!

Anyway, they're one of my favorite bands, and I can't help but wonder how that whole sound translates to a live setting. I really hope I get the chance to catch one of their shows sometime.

In that case, you've got to check out "Blind Guardian - Nightfall in The Middle Earth"—it's easily one of the greatest concept albums ever made.

This whole obsession with militarism is a pretty clear indicator of the type of people who listen to Rhapsody. 🤣

Knightly militarism—all shining armor, golden swords, and white horses. 🙂🙏🙏🙏

this is NOT a bot

it was banned here, and it'll happen again if necessary

let people discuss their Power metal in peace; if you want to spam, go to TBMvsS

Watched it, watched it over and over. 🙏🙏🙏

You know that part where they play out in the field, and suddenly fire comets start raining down while a dragon soars right above them? Forget those Nazi or Soviet military parades—all of them combined, Rhapsody is the real deal. 🙂

Wronže, I haven't been tuned into the music scene for a while, but aren't you being a bit much? Look, I was just messing around; it’s not like I actually intended to churn out another 28 posts using that exact tone 😁. Is there even a real discussion happening regarding Power metal? Does Power metal even exist as its own thing?

Because if it does, then Hollywood metal exists too, and honestly, that's the real deal 🙏

A quick correction to an inaccurate claim here:
NITME wasn't actually based on LOTR—it's based on The Silmarillion, which serves as the actual precursor to LOTR.👍
As far as I'm concerned, Guardians are the best power metal band, sitting right behind Stratovarius, who still absolutely rule this—let's call it what it is—genre (IMHO).
By the way, they've got a concert coming up on October 14th in Vienna that you seriously shouldn't miss.🙏 🙏

I already saw them last year at Media Park in Vienna along with Hammerfall and Shakar.🙏 🙏

Megan Smith12 said:I've only ever heard the Riding on winds of eternity album from Rhapsody, but they aren't bad.

Just a quick heads-up: Riding on winds of eternity is actually a track off the Symphony of Enchanted Lands Part 1 album..

Thanx, I had no clue. I totally fried the CD and just scribbled down the title without double-checking. 👍

Austin Phillips3, you are a truly fascinating individual.
You brag about listening to metal for over 11 years, but the sad reality is you’re still spinning the exact same tracks you were back then.
There’s this weird paradox among metalheads—we start out with the most extreme stuff (kind of like frustrated kids and teenagers), and then eventually we realize there's actually more interesting stuff out there. I’m curious how old you are, because I was stuck on Cannibal until I was maybe 17 or 18. What exactly is the problem with bands like Hateforest, Tristania, Beseech, or Dark Tranquillity? I know they aren't exactly "epic," but still...

Honestly, I'm torn between giving you a serious answer or just keeping the jokes coming. 🤮

So, what’s your "profile," Grissom? I’m genuinely curious how you—since it’s pretty obvious you're The real metalhead—would describe yourself in just one word. Or two, or three if you have to.

Geek or not, I think Rhapsody has some of the best lyrics out there. Like I said before, there's more depth to them than people realize.

I almost forgot—if they didn't have that specific muse of theirs, I doubt those lyrics would grab me this much. When it comes to Rhapsody, heavier always means better in my book.
