Bullshit.

Just another example of Austin Phillips3’s "expertise" in heavy metal. 🙂
As long as he can claim he heard a song once somewhere, he thinks anything mentioning gold, swords, or steel qualifies. He’ll even try to pass off basic stuff as black metal. Give me a break.

Austin Phillips3 said:Using the word golden to describe a metal object like a sword is just a descriptive adjective. In other contexts, golden acts as a metaphor for something high-quality or expensive. It doesn't represent strength or pride, though—gold is actually a pretty soft, flimsy metal.

Even if everything you wrote is correct—which it isn't 🤣—the lyrics still prove that Rhapsody is pure kitsch. Only someone living in a complete fantasy bubble would take their logic seriously.

Go play D&D and stop trying to lecture people on this forum. 🤮🤣

I'm not lecturing. I'm giving it away for free. But don't sweat it; your take on gold is nonsense anyway.

And you want me to live in your world? Are you really that lonely?

Well, isn't that part of the fun? Everyone is going to find something different. People will project whatever motive fits their own perspective. That’s exactly why it's Epic Games fantasy...🙂
At least, that's how I see it.

Austin Phillips3, how on earth do you know so much about Rhapsody if they’re such garbage? You even knew some of the lyrics—words I didn't even recognize while listening to them.
Just come clean and admit you listen to Epic Games. Go ahead, admit it. Nobody's going to judge you. Honestly, I'm convinced you just had a rough time growing up with authority figures. 😁

Just admit you listened to Epic Games, and that you still do. No one’s going to judge you. Pretty sure you just had issues growing up with authority figures. 😁

A couple of years ago, my hard drive was stuffed with heavy metal, including those slimy power metal bands. I only listened to Rhapsody to make fun of them—they have those catchy little melodies that just stick in your head instantly. It's the same feeling as listening to those idiots from Finland who won the Eurovision Song Contest for half an hour today.

Gregory Walker15 said:First off, I can't stand people hunting for hidden meanings in lyrics, trying to force their own interpretations on everyone else. 🤮

Look, you put that well, but honestly, I can't wrap my head around that interpretation because the lyric itself is just nonsensical. It’s blatantly contradictory. 😉

Forgive me if all I see is the surface when there's supposedly so much depth underneath. 🙏

I'm not forcing anything. Sorry if it came across that way. This is just my take, backed by my own reasoning, which nobody else is obligated to buy into. I'm not claiming this line is a masterpiece, nor am I saying Rhapsody is the greatest band on earth just because I like them. I listen to plenty of other artists with "deep" lyrics, but mostly because I can actually relate to them. That's the priority.

I totally get where you're coming from with that point.

There are plenty of people in my world, too. Most of them can actually write and make a decent point.

It’s funny how much you seem to crave Epic Games and similar heavy metal subgenres for someone who claims to hate them. My bet is your collection at home is already stacked with all of it, and you're just venting on this forum because otherwise, you wouldn't have anything interesting to say.🤣

That’s exactly what I was getting at. A lot of people just don't get it... especially when it comes to the stuff they absolutely loathe from the bottom of their hearts. Ha... who knows.

Man, honestly, we got hit with a ban because of you guys the other day, and I’m not even sorry about it.
The absolute dumbest music thread ever created 🙏

Power metal is basically just what people listen to when they aren't tough enough to handle anything actually aggressive. Every single person I know who listens to power metal is a total loser who just locks themselves in their room playing video games—and I’m being dead serious here. Only one guy I know is halfway decent, and even he's mostly into pop. At the end of the day, power doesn't deserve to have "metal" in its name because it just isn't. It's exactly what you guys were arguing about... metal is supposed to be heavy and powerful, and unfortunately, power metal just isn't 👎

Heavy metal is what people listen to when they aren't tough enough for anything more aggressive. Every single person I know who listens to heavy metal is a complete loser who just locks themselves in their room playing video games (not even joking). There's one guy who's alright and likes to grab a drink. All in all, heavy metal doesn't deserve having "metal" in its name because it isn't actually metal. It's exactly what you were arguing about—metal is supposed to be solid and powerful, and unfortunately, heavy metal just isn't 👎

Give me a break...🤣
Look at you, Mr. Sigmund Freud over here... everything has to be about our mothers and childhood trauma...😁

Listen, I'm out and about all the time, and as for gaming... hmmm... I figure a couple rounds of Warcraft 3 every few days counts? o.O omg! I 4m t3h c0mpu73r 4d1c7!!!11onetwo

Oh please, you're acting like some hardcore metalhead elitist, shoving everyone into stereotypes. The thing is, I started out with old-school Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Pantera, etc., and eventually grew past them. Now, I'll throw on some Behemoth or Dark Tranquillity once in a while if I'm feeling it, but heavy metal is what I really appreciate.

And yeah, I have a drink almost every weekend (whenever work lets me).

And that part where you wrote: "Metal is something solid and powerful"...🤣

And then YOU tell US we're gay...🙄

Every single Power fan I know listens to everything else too—Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, you name it. They hang out, grab a beer with everyone else. They aren't some basement-dwelling geeks glued to a screen. It’s the same way here in Cleveland; I don't know how things work in your neck of the woods. Sure, maybe Power isn't the most popular genre across the board—mostly it's Thrash—but people generally agree it's decent enough. And then there are those of us who actually listen to Power. Like me. So, stop talking nonsense; I have no idea why you think we're all stuck behind a monitor. I only visit this forum, and even that's just me sitting at my computer. I don't have time to waste on video games and other trivialities. If I have any free time on a weekend, I might throw down a game of D&D with some friends.
Now, go ahead and explain to me why I'm listening to "gay music" or why I'm some geek rotting in front of a screen. You idiot, just look at your post count versus mine. That should tell you exactly who spends more time at the PC! Thanks for nothing.

Charles Baker3 said:Man, listen... people keep trying to box me in like I’m some kind of hardcore metal elitist or whatever. It’s such a tired stereotype, honestly. Like, do you really think it's that simple? I started out with the classics—you know, the old-school Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Pantera, all that stuff. But I’ve moved past that phase now. Don't get me wrong, I still vibe with Behemoth or Dark Tranquillity every once in a while when the mood strikes, but at the end of the day? It's Power metal that I truly respect. That's where the real heart is for me.

Look, I'm not even a metalhead. Seriously, just check out that link in my signature and see for yourself.

Charles Baker3 said:I end up drinking almost every weekend... well, whenever my job actually lets me have some downtime, anyway.

What does that even have to do with anything? Seriously, what’s the connection there? 😕

Charles Baker3 said:And that thing you said... about how metal is just this solid, heavy, powerful force? Yeah.🤣

And then YOU have the nerve to call us gay...🙄

🙄 Look, it’s like you’re just dodging the point by nitpicking my wording, man. You know exactly what I’m getting at. Aggression... that’s the soul of the music, brother. That raw energy is everything. And honestly? You just don't find that kind of grit in Power metal.

Charles Baker3 said:Nah, you're wrong. CMAR is total trash. 😬

If that's really how it goes, then... what are we even doing here? I mean, seriously. If things are actually playing out like that, then everything changes, right? It’s kind of wild to think about. Just one shift and suddenly the whole vibe is different. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? 👍 But still... just totally gay. 👎

Man, you’re acting like you've got the entire history of heavy metal memorized...

Jason Richardson5 said:What does that have to do with Cleveland... 😕

So, someone mentioned earlier in this thread—too lazy to scroll back, honestly...—that Power fans are just a bunch of geeks who have never actually tasted anything good in their lives. Well, I’ve had plenty of both, thanks for asking... 😉

Jason Richardson5 said:🙄 It’s like you’re just dodging the point by talking nonsense... Aggression is what actually matters, man, and you just don't find that in Power...

Wait, whose standards are we even using to measure aggression here? Yours...?
Your theory can go straight to hell...🤣

Jason Richardson5 said:If that's the case, then... 👍 But still gay... 👎

Man, my hometown is honestly such a small, weird bubble. After getting into a bit of an accident, I ended up meeting a bunch of locals who hang out there constantly, and they all share the exact same views as you... it's wild how much you can miss...😬

Come on, man, what's even the point? I'm not really one of those people who's gonna sit here and argue all day long—there are definitely folks way more qualified than me to handle that kind of stuff.

"Killing the Great Dragon" v6.66

Oh, mighty dragon
I'm gonna take you down with my sword
Since I'm a warrior through and through--I guess
And when you breathe fire over the farms, it makes me sad

My blade is incredibly sharp
And my steel fist is made of pure steel--pretty much
Everyone knows I'm gonna mess with your mom
Because, well, I've got some serious tools

You stupid green dragon, I'm cutting off your junk
I'll poke you right in the eye
That's probably the start of your end
Since you smell everywhere

I'll cast a level fifty-six spell on you
Since you're resistant at level fifty-five--I think
That spell will really shake you up
And leave you feeling super gay and tired

Hey moron, you're gonna get your mom
Because the angels are watching over me
And I'll shove an explosive device up your rear
Just to blow you apart and finish you off

The dragon is dumb
Like a telephone pole
The pole won't take him
Throw him in the trash
The trash won't take him
Throw him in the salt
Marisol
