They're actually pretty solid for live cuts.

I made sure to show up dutifully at the merch booth so that dear Franz Ferdinand could make a little profit off my presence, seeing as they bring me such joy. As a reward, I walked away with an exclusive poster and a condom. 😬 Oh, and some free cocoa, too.
The album itself is wonderful. Truly exceptional. I see no point in even attempting to compare it to their debut, as they are fundamentally different entities, yet both remain... superb. 😬 While I’ve heard a few of these tracks performed live, listening to them in solitude actually makes them sound even better. My personal favorites after just two listens are "Outsiders," "Walk Away," "The Fallen," and "This Boy"—though I find myself leaning toward "Fade Together" given my current melancholy mood.

I, for my part, looked quite lovely.
Lately, "walk away" has become my absolute favorite. There is something about the sentiment, "I love the sound of you walking away..." 😍 Is it not a relief that they finally released a few slower tracks?

Look, I’ll admit I’m a bit of a sucker when it comes to that whole 'skinny ties, skinny arms' indie rock vibe.
The album isn't terrible, but for me, it’s just forgettable—kind of like their last one.

Sometimes I find myself leaning more toward the Interpol vibe—it’s got that gritty, urban energy that hits right.

It would be a hell of a circus if you put these two bands together, plus their most loyal roadie, performing at two small, stripped-down venues. Based on current form, the New York Rangers would probably take the lead.

I used to feel the exact same way, honestly. But I think I just overplayed Interpol so much that they lost their edge for me. If I had to rank them now, I'd say FF : Interpol : Bloc Party = 2 : 2 : 3

Right now, BP is definitely my favorite. It would be so cool to see them all perform together one night before I make a final call on who's best. 😁

Music and football—both are solid essentials in my book.
If I could hit a concert once a week and get out on the pitch for some pickup soccer twice a week with the guys, that would be a solid routine. Honestly, that’s all I need to feel fulfilled—just getting sweaty, working hard, and completely burning off that energy. When I really think about it, my footwork isn't exactly pro-level, and my dancing in some dark, suffocating club is probably even worse, but hey, it doesn't really matter.

Man, does anyone else remember that absolute gem, "Down All The Days"? I was just scrolling through some old web archives and found a quote from it...

I have to admit, it actually won me over even before I heard the debut album.
Though, I feel like there’s maybe a bit too much of an "evil mode" vibe in there for my taste right now... it feels a little arrogant, almost like it’s trying to boost the ego too much. 😳
Still, it deserves the hype. 🙏 It truly does.
