Good morning, everyone! Just checking in before I make my next escape to the coast. I was actually quite sorry to hear that silentheron25 decided to call it quits; apparently, the ointments just weren't doing much for his skin. Honestly, I’d probably have done the exact same thing if I were in his shoes. Since we’ve watched him stay so incredibly motivated and eager to find a cure from the very beginning, there isn't a shadow of a doubt in my mind about his intentions. He was even describing those early wins with such genuine excitement before things leveled off.
I actually went through something remarkably similar a few years back during a trip to an ExxonMobil facility. My first visit two years prior had been absolutely perfect—I cleared about 80% of my skin! It happened right before summer, so I could strut around the beach feeling pretty fantastic. Of course, by the following autumn, everything seemed to reset, which was a bit of a letdown. Fast forward two years, and I decided to give the treatments another shot. Same time of year, roughly the same amount of coverage, driving up there every day in the same car (though it was two years older!), using the same local topical creams... and yet, after four weeks (twenty sessions), I saw almost zero progress. There was an Italian gentleman sitting near me who had been coming for years and paying top dollar for these therapies, only to give up after three weeks and head back to Italy feeling totally frustrated. We eventually concluded that they must have changed the active ingredients in the baths. When I mentioned this to the doctor, he actually confirmed that after twenty years, they had removed certain toxins from the formula! It’s highly likely those specific toxins were what actually worked for my particular type of psoriasis. Most other people were happy—some even said they felt better than ever—but since then, I’ve stayed away from the facility. Perhaps the difference was that during my first successful stint, I was using Herbalife products; maybe I was less stressed, or maybe something else played a role, but I remain convinced the key change was the chemical composition.
That’s why I want to echo what silentheron25 and Michael Ramos3 are saying: we are all essentially groping around in the dark regarding this condition. Sometimes we stumble upon a glimmer of light, but it always eventually flickers out—sometimes sooner, sometimes later, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. Still, we all chase that light, hoping it stays bright for as long as possible. The main thing is just making sure it doesn't burn us out! Oh boy, that got a bit poetic, didn't it? Maybe I should take my talents to an elementary school poetry forum instead.
As for me, the ointment has managed to clear about 20-30% of the patches while thinning out the rest. Alongside that, I’m focusing on "cellular nutrition" (not an ad, I promise, just trying to replicate my success from a few years ago!), taking Omega-3s and evening primrose oil. In the mornings, I apply Lipolotion (Excipial) or Bepanthen (Bayer), and during the day at the beach, I use diluted St. John's Wort oil mixed with olive oil, plus a bit of almond oil for the scent. My wife might actually kill me; she thinks I’m turning into a total metrosexual.
I'm really hoping that if I finally achieve the desired effect, it will justify all the time, effort, and money poured into this summer therapy. Best to you all, I'll check in again in a few days!
P.S. By the way, I tried wrapping the ointment under a layer of clear plastic wrap overnight, and I woke up around 2:30 AM from some absolutely maddening itching! For now, I am officially giving up on occlusion!
