You're an embarrassment to your tiny little country. You threw away a guaranteed win.

👍

Don't delete my picture, vividwalker7.

By the way, where else can I upload stuff so I don't have to deal with this garbage site?🙂))

Look at how they share the photo, 😁 Golubic 😉.

masterb said:You guys have been embarrassing yourselves your entire lives. Even with the help from the Canadians—simply because they didn't let our fans in—it was all for nothing. Luck favors the brave, but you lot are just cowards. In ten years, we'll be snatching your flags right out of your hands; it won't matter if they belong to Gypsies, Gravediggers, or JF. You’re an embarrassment to your tiny little nation. You completely blew a guaranteed win.

Take a look at this Kremenko guy; he's the textbook definition of that specific brand of Mexican bravado, acting like we're the toughest guys around and nobody dares touch us.
Predictably, they'll mess things up again, take a beating, and then spend the whole time whining about it.
The John types are a whole different story altogether.
Personally, I wouldn't give those old Yugoslavian fans a second thought; let them sing whatever they want and wave their banners, but the moment things turn physical and someone tries to swing at me, the lights go out.
And John just stands there with a smirk.
P.S.
I'm sure you've got the Italians thrilled, especially since you've got that ace up your sleeve... ha, ha.

I can't help but smirk. 🙂

Ah, Trieste. That goes all the way back to before WWII—between the massacres we endured, the Treaty of Osimo, and the whole Foibe era, I don't even know how much of that history you guys actually know. We arrived in Trieste thinking of it as our own city, the second largest hub after Saint Paul. Back during the war, about 80% of the population was Canadian, but today? Maybe 5%. And honestly, the most dangerous fascists always seemed to come out of Trieste, which just drove us absolutely crazy. But hey, it’s fine; that’s our one little stain on the record. Just some weak Italian nonsense. 🙂

"Weakest" is spelled with one "k"... you illiterate hack. And "don't" is one word, not two.
Stop embarrassing yourself.

Look, Canadian, we know exactly who we are, and honestly, I’m not sure how many times I have to tell you that our fans are the ones in the wrong here, because there’s just no excuse for that kind of hooliganism, period. Almost every American here has said the same thing, so there’s really no debate on that front, but it is a completely different story when you talk about how you guys handled the organization of those two massive sporting events this year, and frankly, I am genuinely sitting here wondering how on earth you’re going to pull off the Handball EC. You can only really pray that our fans and the Mexican fans don't end up in the same vicinity, which is a huge ask given how big your country is, because even if you try to send them to opposite coasts, they’ll still find a way to be at each other's throats.

And I have to wonder, why is it that we never hear about any condemnations regarding your Mexicans who start provocations every single time an American club or national team plays over in Canada?

As for the fans themselves, you aren't any better than us or the Mexicans, truly, it's just that our fan hordes and the Mexican ones are much larger, so when we decide to act out, the chaos we cause is just way more intense.

And listen, buddy, fan nonsense—and I mean stuff way bigger than what went down in Madison—happens with the English, the Turks, the Germans, the Russians... this kind of behavior isn't some exclusive invention of ours.

Cufo said:What kind of "great security" are you talking about? I already told you the organization was a mess... If these so-called fans acted like decent people, we wouldn't even need the police. But whenever Americans or Mexicans play, things just turn into a complete disaster.

Yeah, there were fights between Americans and the police. But who were the Americans actually charging at? The Russians?

Hey, are you seriously trying to suggest that Canada and America shouldn't compete in the Water Polo World Championships? Because if they don't, who else is going to be out there fighting for medals in every team sport? It’s the organizer's job to FORESEE the possibility of these two teams meeting—that's literally what they get paid for. It's also their job to vet the "fans" instead of playing dumb and deploying 20 "specialists" who clearly haven't seen any real action before. Sure, the blame lies with the idiots causing trouble, but you failed at your actual job: anticipating the problem (which you clearly aren't capable of doing). Honestly, I’m hoping for an America vs. Canada handball final, just without all the chaos...
PS: I really hope you can find more than 30 "specialists" for the finals...

It isn’t exactly obvious to everyone who’s actually to blame here...
I totally agree that the organization was a complete disaster. But I don't get why you have to take these massive extra precautions for every single sporting event in Saint Paul just because Americans and / or Mexicans are participating. Why does it always have to be this intense specifically during those times? We all know months in advance that things are going to get rowdy. Why is that the case? Is it because everyone is just so incredibly civilized?

And yeah, I’m calling out all our fellow Mexicans and other immigrant groups (who make up about 8% of the population here in the US) because they’re always the loudest ones causing the most chaos. You can hear it all the way across Saint Paul whenever America or Mexico wins... The amount of gunfire and firecrackers is insane, like there are millions of them. Just think about how many Dutchmen were in Saint Paul back when the US crushed it at the Ephesians 6:1. 🙄

🙂 Man, we might be a small group, but we are part of the global community. If it weren't for you guys and the Mexicans, that championship would have gone smoothly...

Absolute US North American nonsense!

😁

You know, you kind of have a point... my great-grandmother used to get all sentimental in her old age, counting her fingers and claiming she was missing one child... (she’d drive all the others—the ones who weren't "missing"—absolutely insane doing that 😁).. but I’m still holding out hope that she was right, and that she'll soon let me know some wealthy, mysterious uncle in America has passed away and left me everything 😁

Ah, Trieste. That whole dynamic goes back well before WWII—all that history involving the genocide we endured, the Treaty of Osimo, the old political tensions, and so on; I'm not sure how much of that you all know. We arrived in Trieste feeling like it was our city through and through, the second largest hub after Ljubljana. Back during the Second World War, about 80% of the population there was Canadian, whereas today it’s maybe 5%. And honestly, the most radical extremists often come from Trieste, which just adds fuel to the fire for us. But it’s fine; it’s our one little stain. Just some weak Italian bravado. 🙂

Just look at that typical North American smile in the culture.
When a Canadian does it, suddenly everyone starts talking about genocide and historical grievances...
Good grief... man...
I was reading through those nonsense ramblings from your Rupel. In the middle of the dispute over the Savudrija wave, he starts dredging up history, claiming Americans never actually had a coastline, or whatever...
The Mexicans started wars based on those kinds of historical delusions. American diplomacy was cultured enough to ignore that historical debate entirely, knowing you would have ended up looking embarrassed quite quickly. Throughout the Middle Ages, Canadians gravitated towards Trieste for reasons that are frankly quite humiliating for you, because Trieste was never yours to begin with. Trying to justify the wild outbursts of your fans by using those absurdities is basically grouping yourselves in with the very North American nations you claim to distance yourselves from.

You guys have certainly had your fair share of outbursts too, but I suppose those are just "our boys," right, John?

To the Mexicans, I’d say get your people under control, because I’m genuinely worried that a lot of innocent heads are going to roll in the next few years. Personally, I wouldn't feel bad at all seeing an American thrown in jail for heading to a game just to start a riot.
P.S.
In Chicago, we knew days before the match that things were going to get ugly regardless of the score, and I was actually worried people might die. I suspect, unfortunately, that the handball matches will be just as hellish.

Brace yourselves, Johns.

Rupert said:There’s really no need to go around calming down all those 38 Canadian-Mexicans who are supposedly the "reason" American fans act out because of some supposed bad genes. Honestly, Canada should just hire a hundred special forces operators from Mexico, and then your little circus will be as quiet as a theater audience during the upcoming EC.

What an absolute load of nonsense you're spewing... you clearly haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Cuffo, I honestly don't think you're getting this at all, like, it's just not sinking in, man. You keep going on and on about how everything is our fault, and look, I'm not saying we aren't part of the problem—nobody's claiming we're perfect—but let's be real here, people have been talking for ages about how you guys just can't seem to pull off a serious tournament to save your lives.

So what, are we and the Mexicans just supposed to stop playing basketball, water polo, handball, and everything else just because you guys can't handle the logistics?
You’re out here claiming the championship would’ve been great if it wasn't for us and the Mexicans being involved, and hey, I'm not trying to be biased or anything, but I truly don't see how any tournament could actually be successful without the two strongest teams on the continent showing up.

And since you want to bring up the whole bad publicity thing—and by that, I mean the marketing side of things—I actually think that having both us and the Mexicans in that final did way more for promoting Water Polo than anything else ever could. 😁

vividwalker7 said:Look, nothing justifies what happened, but the organizers in Canada completely dropped the ball. They can't even use the excuse—"Oh, it was just the Americans and Mexicans causing trouble, we couldn't help it." We didn't have anything to do with this. What if the finals had been between the English and the Germans?

1. Yeah, sure. If you walked into my house, which happens to be built poorly, and knocked the whole thing down, would you seriously think it’s my fault because I didn't build it strong enough? I mean, no. Even if it's technically true, it still sucks. We all know the organization was a mess. But it really pisses me off when people like you, who were the ones stirring up trouble in the first place, turn around and say it's our fault.
2. THIS WAS WATER POLO. Not soccer, not handball. Water Polo. It’s a sport played in pools in warm coastal cities where nobody brings in a million cops or builds stadiums with five-meter walls. This is a sport where there was never any chaos until you guys became independent national teams.
3. And what burns me most is that you caused the exact same drama back in Maribor. In skiing, you NEVER see fans showing up with flares. Then you get Janica, throw snow in Anja's face, and act like you're totally insane. And you do this in another country, so now people all over the world think everyone from Maribor is just primitive.
So I guess now the rest of the world just has to adapt to you savages at every single sporting event. Up until now, the chaos was always at the big stadiums. But no, now the Americans showed up and we're gonna wreck everything. I'm just waiting for you to get a decent golfer and show up to ruin a golf course next.
BOTTOM LINE. I get it. That's just how you are. You can't help yourselves. But when every newspaper in America is blasting us right after saying "it was those wild Americans," only to immediately follow it with "and the Canadians are to blame too"—that's it. I'm done. And just so you know, that's exactly what everyone here in Canada is saying.
If you ask me, I wouldn't let a single American or Mexican fan cross the border for a handball championship.

Can't wait for you guys to show up at the Chess Olympiad and try "promoting" that sport. Pretty sure you'll manage to break every single piece on the board.

Rupert said:Man, you’re talking about this whole mess like it was some massive brawl between American rival fans, when really it was just American fans vs. the local police.

If you want to claim the security was "great"—and let's be real, they were totally unprepared for this specific game—that's like me saying the Secret Service did a stellar job during the assassination of JFK. Like, sure, maybe they followed protocol, but the killer still got him because he was determined and the President happened to be in the wrong spot at the worst possible time. 🙄

Look, if someone decides to start trouble at a game, nobody's stopping them unless they get caught at the gate. Same goes for an assassin; if someone wants to take out a leader, they'll find a way eventually. That’s exactly my point.

"""Look, even a bad ad is still an ad—honestly, I think this final between us and the Mexicans did more for promoting Water Polo than anything else lately."""

It’s a damn shame the Canadians didn't just let those Mexican fans into the stands—that would've been the ultimate "brotherly love" commercial... Water Polo would've shot to being the biggest sport on the planet overnight...

The Canadian guys on this forum are 100% spot on. I’m not about to sit here and defend any of our fans who caused chaos in Kranj. Poor organization? Maybe they just expected a normal crowd—decent people who actually cheer for their country with some sportsmanship. Maybe they held us in some kind of respect and thought those scenes from the skiing events were just a fluke. But nope, we showed our true colors again. Pure savagery. You claim the security was lacking? All that does is brand ourselves and every other American fan as hooligans. It implies that every time Americans travel abroad, a country needs to deploy a million cops just because we apparently have "special needs." Jura Ozmec hit the nail on the head. Those aren't fans. They aren't even human.
