Look, like you mentioned later—a portrait wasn't the point. But the whole process—at least for me—ended up creating one of the most unforgettable literary characters lately: Rugendas, the landscape painter. He’s left without a face, and in that final, killer scene of the novel, he ends up painting portraits (not to spoil too much 😁 )

Look, forget about who suggested what. It just means things are getting interesting. We need to start adding some extra fun to keep things from getting stale, though this thread hasn't really been boring yet. It’s kind of like a typical American marriage after the seventh year. Anyway, you should definitely check out Bloody Kisses by TON if you haven't already. Pure gothic rock, pure industrial. Peter Steele really leveled up his songwriting here. They did a great job covering that Seals & Croftsov hit Summer Breeze, and those background vocals from that lesbian choir over at Bensonhoist are like the cherry on top of this musical sundae.

Boring album. Only the second and third tracks actually land, and then you maybe get one or two decent fillers after that.

Besides, there are plenty of photos floating around online if I just search for Peter Steele's anatomy, so I really don't see the need... ☕

Look, the guy was huge. By the laws of correlation, he had to be packing it.

It’s kind of like a typical American marriage after year seven, you know? Anyway, you seriously need to check out Bloody Kisses by TON if you haven't yet. It's pure gothic rock and industrial bliss. Total icing on the cake.

I gave them my vote; I'm digging TON just as much as the rest of the gothic/darkwave stuff

I mean, some of these suggestions actually caught me off guard in a good way.

Honestly, just trust me on this one, it's worth it. I’ve got this CD in my car and I've spun it more times than I can count. For me, B#1 and CW are absolute masterpieces, but the rest of it? It's mostly just filler... it’s all so incredibly generic that I can barely wrap my head around remembering a single track.

Giving it a shot? Now you’ve got me thinking about that time he did those shoots for Playgirl.

Look, there are definitely other tracks worth checking out. They might not hit the heights of CW or Black no 1, but hey, at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal taste and what clicks with you. Summer Breeze is an excellent track and they handled it really well here. And while Kill All The White People isn't exactly a peak moment, it breaks things up nicely and shifts the vibe for a second. I’d also point out Set ja on Fire for some solid 60s-style rock psychedelia, and Blood & Fire is pretty interesting too.

Just Googled it—his junk is visible in those photos, but honestly, nothing special. You can all sleep easy now.

You might as well just pull the trigger on him this week... I was actually thinking about that Mickey Rassbury guy (if that's how he spells it) who might have come up with something for the poor soul. Thank God I got switched over to the country music threads instead...

Notes

The first 10,000 copies of 'Sons And Fascination' actually came with a free LP called 'Sister Feelings Call'. It was a nice little way to say thanks to the fans—they just shrinkwrapped both LPs together and sold them for the price of a single album. Think of it like a "buy one, get one" deal you might see at a local record shop.

If you look at the front of the 'Sons And Fascination' sleeve, there’s a sticker letting you know if you’ve got the limited edition double LP. This version also included two inserts: the first, titled "The New Album by Simple Minds," gave some background on the record, the band's discography, and upcoming tour dates. The second, "Simple Minds Information Sheet," was basically a rundown of the official merch.

Down the road, they decided to split them up, with 'Sons And Fascination' being sold at full retail and 'Sister Feelings Call' moving as a budget release.

All the tracks, including any promo videos or visual presentations (if they're out there), can be found in the main link.

Here are the other versions currently available.....

Sweat In Bullet (extended version)

The Cure - Lovesong (extended version)

This Earth That You Walk Upon (12" instrumental)

Sons And Fascination (special BBC version)

Seeing Out The Angels (instrumental remix)

Theme For Great Cities (unofficial video)

The American (12" extended version)
