Dennis Hall41 said:I was thinking about making a suggestion... Elvis PresleyHe was my only real option, really, but then I realized that the full album isn't even available on YouTube... It’s a lucky break, honestly, because The Beach Boys actually live up to everything I look for in top-tier American music...🙏

I don't know much about Elvis Presley yet, but I’ll definitely look into him. If you're a fan, he's probably worth the listen...

I've actually never listened to them myself, though I know a few people who are huge fans.
Jason White17, which albums are the best ones to start with?
🙂

and feel free to throw out more suggestions... 🍿

"All Hail West Texas" is definitely the way to go for a first listen, and if you want to keep going, check these out:
1. Get Lonely (2006)
2. Tallahassee (2003)
3. The Sunset Tree (2005)

They have a ton of albums out, but honestly—you really can't go wrong with anything they recorded in the early 2000s.

I couldn't help but vote for the Boss. I guess Herbie Hancock and Gerald Jackson48 will have to forgive me, but this album is just incredible. It's great to finally see some jazz getting some love! I was secretly hoping Bruce might tie for the top spot, though I wouldn't personally pick this as his best work.

But man... Rosalita! 🎉😍

Looks like I’ll have to start voting for my own albums from now on—just so I don't end up one vote short. 😁

Nega, I guess I might be one of the few people who never really felt like Rosalita was an absolute knockout. It’s far from a bad track, but on this specific album, I think Incident, Sandy, and NYC Serenade actually hit harder—and honestly, the rest of the songs hold their own against it too.

I know you’d probably suggest All Hail West Texas or Tunnel of Love instead, but I find this one interesting because it's one of the early ones—the second album in the sequence—so it feels like a great way to get an introduction to his musical world. It’s a pretty underrated record, in my opinion, and I don't think it falls short of his best work from that era at all. Maybe I'll write up a proper review of it sometime and explain why I think it's worth a listen.

Finally, some actual jazz! I was secretly hoping Bruce might pull through with a tie, though honestly, this isn't exactly the album I would have picked for him.

But... Rosalita! 🎉😍

Finally, some jazz. It feels like we've gone through sixty rounds of something else before getting here. Honestly, I’d love to dive into some modal jazz, bebop, or even some free jazz next. It's not like I was short on suggestions over the last few months—people have been throwing ideas at me from all directions—but hey, that's how it goes. The voters have spoken. 😁

Hmm... yeah. I think it’s about time we brought in some of that gritty, raw jazz.
I've had Mingus on my mind for a while now as a suggestion...

Maybe Vancha can grab me a drink to cheer me up today. I was actually planning on checking out Azra either this week or next—but since you suggested it, I guess I'll cross them off my list. I'm definitely going to swing by sometime this week, though—I haven't slept a wink since yesterday and I'll probably be a mess for the next few days...

🙂

Charles Ramos4, I guess this is the perfect time to just put on some 'Life in the Slow Lane' a few times—it always helps save the day.

It doesn't really matter what kind of mood the guys end up in regarding the album. Whatever happens today, it'll pass... I suppose.

...just 18 karats of pure disappointment...

I noticed the tracklist on that link is all messed up—they've got songs listed that don't even belong to the album (it's like Gluperd is just wandering around aimlessly, so what, sloboda...) —but if we end up winning, we can at least use this page to listen to everything https://www.dailymotion.com/AZRADAILYMOTION/videos
