If Angel managed to pull off a total masterpiece of maximalism up there, then this gem is basically the same thing—just played out in a minimalist way:

Sharon Jones and The Gap:
Marlena Shaw:
Plus, the one big hit from today’s podcast—which also serves as a much-needed reality check for all those reality TV singers out there... basically, if you can't handle a voice like the lady in this link, maybe just stick to karaoke:

We could go on forever, but I don't want to bore you guys—so I’ll wrap up my little show by playing one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
It’s wild to think about—that being a woman isn't always something you're born into, but something you can become. This track feels like this massive monument to gender fluidity, but also to all that heartache and struggle felt by anyone who’s ever been an outsider.

I was walking through the old saffron woods earlier today. There isn't much left there anymore, which is a shame, but I did spot some deer emerging in packs along the hillsides... until then
... perfect for a quiet evening, though the night has its own way of calling to me 🙂

It’s a fantastic album; honestly, I’ve had it on repeat for the last few days.

Regarding that last album, which honestly got a ton of praise, "Africa Speaks," Blue Skies. I suppose you could say this feels more like a collective effort from the band "Santana" rather than just being a solo project by Carlos Santana, and a lot of people seem to think it holds its own against their absolute peak albums from back in the mid-70s. It’s definitely a very solid record, though I guess I have to admit I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to
Santana.

Great. 🙂
No junior—ah, okay then. ...
Horror show. 😁
I thought they were playing La Femme—they haven't left that number six alone. 😁 They were blasting some track at the campus yesterday—apparently, it’s a huge hit right now. Is it French post-punk? Or what exactly are we calling this? 😁

I don't care who you think you are or what you stand for—but I am going to exercise my right to point out one thing: the greatest anthem of female empowerment was actually sung by white men.

Not bad at all. Though if you ask me—early albums are always the 😁granitecyclist said:Sempiterna😉

This is going on my NP. 🙂 Spent the rest of the week listening to everything else; it's all kind of mashed together from some period.

Been blasting The Fall on repeat for a few days now—definitely staying on this loop until the month is out. This track is easily one of their bigger hits, if you can even call it that.
