Bravo. We ate our own crap. And all of you who were actually at the stadium? You swallowed twice as much. You swear you won't support the US Men's National Soccer Team, you talk a big game about how much you hate the federation and its leadership, but now Bob Costas is celebrating, the mindless masses are celebrating, even the brainless Black Knights are celebrating. Everything looks lovely on the surface, but the national team is still being run by the same old hooligans. I didn't watch the match because I couldn't stomach it, but from what I gathered, it was anything but a sporting event—much like any other MLS game—and it certainly wasn't a victory. They’re like cancer, and you treat cancer with chemotherapy (even if there are better ways); it means you have to kill off part of yourself just to kill the disease. That’s exactly what this match was. We lost the battle, and now we’re left with the cancer... yet here we are, celebrating.

And when is this lot finally going to start cheering for the Los Angeles Angels instead of the national team? Screw your banners, screw the war, and screw those Mexicans. That was all years ago, and honestly, I think the real causes of the conflict remain hidden from both us and the Mexicans. Life would be so much better if we stopped exhausting ourselves over it, because we really don't need to anymore. The war is over, thank God it's over, so stop trying to provoke a new one.
Divide and conquer—or in the case of the old regime, divide and get rich. That’s exactly how it works, provided you have at least a little gray matter to realize it. It’s much easier to just yell "kill a Mexican" and sell out your morals at a flea market just for one game against some insecure Mexicans who are even more dim-witted than we are. Don't tell me this doesn't belong in this thread, because this is exactly where it needs to go. I don't give a damn about (this kind of) national team; I only care about the Angels. Guys, we collectively need some education because this has become ridiculous. The US Army types, as our brilliant journalists would call them, have positions within the federation so cemented that we can't touch them. They probably toasted their own personal win with champagne yesterday, not a win for America!
I’ll say it again: this post is primarily about the Black Knights, and I expect that to be respected here.

It's the classic "divide and conquer" strategy—or in the case of a corrupt regime, "divide and get rich." That's exactly how it works, provided you have even a shred of gray matter to realize it. It’s much easier to shout "kill the enemy" and sell out your own morals for the sake of a single match against some insecure opponents who are even more dim-witted than we are. Don't tell me this doesn't belong in this thread, because this is exactly where it needs to go; I couldn't care less about (this version of) the national team—all that matters is the Angels. Guys, we collectively need a bit of an education because this has become pathetic; the US Army types—as our brilliant journalists would call them—have such cemented positions within the federation that they are untouchable. They were probably clinking champagne glasses yesterday, celebrating their own survival rather than a victory for America!

The war screwed us, sure—it was years ago, but you forgot to mention it was "pre-arranged," didn't you? 😍

Anyway, does anyone know what life is like without those people around?

Even before we headed out to the match, shouldn't we have been standing our ground with a couple of messages against the league officials, cheering right against them and setting off some flares? Honestly, Jerry Jones and Bob Costas combined have more influence on this mess than any group of outsiders on the pitch. We look absolutely ridiculous right now—are we really going to go back to cheering for those corrupt league suits, only to talk about boycotting the next home game like we're facing an enemy nation? And then you've got these absolute clowns lecturing everyone else on how to support the team, when goodness knows they're just part of the problem. Meanwhile, the brand built by Pelé and Bob Costas is being laughed at, while he acts like everything is perfectly fine. You just don't see that kind of nonsense anywhere else.

I suppose there isn't much point in trying to fix it; an empty mind is a difficult thing to fill... I have to give my respect to the people who refused to buy tickets and stayed home... I’m one of them, really. No matter how many people in my circle look at me like I’ve lost my mind, some of us still see the situation for what it actually is... It's just TV and beer until the trash clears out. Between Jerry Jones, Pelé and Bob Costas, I guess it's hard to find any reason to actually show up at the stadium to support anything...

I was one of those people. My buddies gave me some pretty weird looks, but the rest of the crew gets it. They know what's up. Between the TV deals and the beer, while all that garbage stays in charge—Jerry Jones, Pelé and Bob Costas... who'd even show up to support a team under that mess?

So you're seriously claiming 450 guys from the Black Knights are brainless?
And what do you mean you "refused" a ticket? Like someone offered you one and you said no? What kind of story is that?

Tim Howard, Philipp Lahm, Tim Curry, Joe Rogan, Aleksandar Mitrović, David Beckham, Xavi, Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, Luis Suarez, and Claudio Reyna all deserve our unwavering support; they have my back, even if we aren't backing Pelé and Bob Costas. That was perfectly evident yesterday when those two fools were booed right out of the stadium. But I suppose it’s obvious to anyone who spent yesterday with their brain turned off just because they happen to cheer for the US Men's National Soccer Team. Of course, half—if not more—of the crowd was likely there just to stir up trouble regarding Mexico, but it’s frankly foolish to suggest people who actually understand the chaotic state of the game are simply mindless. Personally, I feel a bit of a sting because I couldn't make it; I had my ticket ready, but circumstances kept me away, and I just couldn't get there. As for boycotting, that rarely solves anything; the Boy Scouts tried that once and ended up getting absolutely nothing for their efforts. ☕

You’re right. I didn't frame that quite correctly. You never forget history, period. But at the end of the day, there are different people living in those cities now, and different people living over there who have absolutely zero connection to what happened back then. I'm mostly talking about the younger generation—both here in the States and over there—who didn't fight in those wars and gain nothing from reopening old wounds. Appreciate the correction.

You saw it clearly yesterday when those two idiots got booed right out of there. But hey, I guess if you were one of those brain-dead types cheering for the US, you wouldn't get it. Of course, half the crowd was probably just there because they’re obsessed with their neighbors, but calling people mindless just because they know how messy things actually are is stupid. Personally, I'm bummed I couldn't make it; I had my ticket ready to go, but I just couldn't swing it, so I missed out. Boycotting doesn't solve a damn thing, they boycotted the hooligans back in the day and all they got was screwed over ☕

Look, why don't you all just stop lying to this exhausted nation and admit that you actually don't give a flying crap? It's all about "bread and circuses" anyway... and fine, whatever, everyone has their own thing. For some, it's the local club, for others, it's the national team, or just watching the game... but please, spare me the pathetic lectures about "love" for the team or some grand ideals... and don't even try to lecture me now or I'll have to write an entire manifesto. Let's be clear, I'm not saying a boycott is the only way, but honestly, I've had it up to here—you gotta show up, and you gotta sing your head off...

Frank Kim26 I can't even begin to process this. Honestly, I’m sitting here staring at my screen, shaking my head, thinking about how we even got to this point. It’s like everyone just collectively decided to stop using their brains the second they stepped out onto the street. You see it everywhere—this absolute lack of common sense that makes you want to walk directly into traffic just to feel something different. It reminds me of this one time back in Chicago, years ago, when I was stuck behind this guy who thought he could navigate a four-way stop like he was playing Grand Theft Auto. Total chaos. And that’s exactly what this feels like. It's just pure, unadulterated nonsense being presented as if it's some kind of groundbreaking insight. I've seen more intellectual depth in a bowl of lukewarm oatmeal than in whatever this is supposed to be. We’re living in an era where people just shout things into the void and expect a standing ovation, and frankly, it’s exhausting. I’m tired, man. Just genuinely, deeply exhausted by the sheer level of delusion we have to wade through every single day.
Keep 'em coming... honestly, it’s such a massive relief to actually read some decent, high-quality stuff for once amidst this endless mountain of absolute garbage.☕

Man, if they had just painted a damn mural on that wall instead of leaving it like that... what a missed opportunity, right? Seriously, you look at a space like that and you can practically see the art waiting to happen, but nope, just blank concrete. It’s honestly depressing.

I am not claiming anyone is mindless or otherwise; I suppose everyone knows their own mind... I simply wrote that a dull brain finds it hard to progress, so if you felt personally attacked by that, don't blame me🤷

They did offer me a ticket and transportation, once. But I wasn't exactly thinking straight enough to go out and support Mike Tyson, Jerry Jones, and Pelé—not to forget Joe Montana while we're at it... This whole state of affairs, this mindset, it is just the American reality... I mean, regardless of what anyone says or thinks about it... It is going to be a long, long, loooooong time before we see any actual positive movement in this football swamp... Maybe with the new generations, maybe ☕

It isn't that they've lost their senses; it's simply that the desire to go catch a game—you know, some food and football—just outweighed the urge to go out and drain the swamp, and honestly, there isn't much more to say than that.

I suppose you could argue the Boys actually gained quite a bit from the boycott, and if it hadn't happened, things might have been significantly worse than they are now... They boycotted for as long as they felt there was some actual purpose to it, some media leverage or some sort of message to send to everyone else... But I don't really want to get into a debate about them here. According to your logic, though, a boycott isn't an option, neither is this nor that—the only real choice is to just cover your eyes and scream "hit me, just don't hit too hard" .... Just bow down, jump for the scraps they toss at you constantly, knowing there will always be plenty of people willing to charge ahead without a second thought... Grab the bone, and then wait until the next bone is tossed before you start yelling that the boss is a jerk... That’s the real way to live, I guess. Bravo....🙄

There isn’t much room for debate here; the whole thing was driven by the rivalry with Mexico, plain and simple.
If that weren't the case, you wouldn't see about twenty different guys from the Black Knights actively following every single national team match.
Now, obviously, everything comes with a price tag. For the vast majority, the matchup against Mexico provides more than enough motivation to just buy their tickets through the federation, essentially ensuring they stay indebted to them because the officials went out of their way to accommodate them. Does Mexico really hold that much weight? In my opinion, it doesn't.
Don't go selling out your principles. 😂
