Hey everyone,
I’ve dealt with hemorrhoids for the first time in my life and I need some advice. The issue is I'm currently abroad in Ireland, so my usual doctor isn't exactly available to help.
I have no idea how this happened—I ate some spicy food the day before, strained a bit on the toilet, and felt a little sting, but I didn't think much of it at the time. It’s not like I eat spicy food constantly or anything. I've been in similar situations a hundred times before and nothing ever happened. It wasn't until it started burning this morning that I realized something was actually wrong. Now it’s stinging pretty badly—it's been three days—and I can feel it when I touch it, so it's external. Walking is a struggle, sitting is awkward, and I’m mostly just lying on my side... it’s not good. The only thing I've done so far is rinse with cold water and dab on some Nivea Soft. Maybe that’s not helping, but it was all I had on hand. What should I do? Is there some kind of go-to cream for this?
I'm planning to hit up a pharmacy today to look for something. Is there anything specific I should be looking for on the labels?
Please, just don't recommend any brands from back home, because you won't find them here.
Thanks.

Honestly, you can just walk into any CVS or Walgreens and ask them for whatever they have on hand—just look for anything labeled as a hemorrhoid or piles remedy. I can definitely help talk through your options, but at the end of the day, it’s totally up to you whether you want to go the natural route with herbal stuff like propolis, stick to the heavy-duty chemicals, or maybe find a middle ground with a combo... Just, uh, definitely double-check if you have any specific allergies before you grab anything.

Also, grab some wet wipes while you're out there. You know, the baby wipe kind? Use those instead of regular toilet paper... it makes a huge difference.

I noticed a pretty significant blood stain on my underwear—it’s clearly been there since this morning and I think something burst. Should I be extra worried about this, or is it just a normal phase?

Does this change anything regarding the type of cream I should be using?

Just tell the pharmacist you have external hemorrhoids. They'll definitely give you something better than Nivea Soft (which is probably just making the stinging worse). Got any olive oil on hand? If so, use that instead, then head to the pharmacy.

I picked this up,

http://www.boots.com/en/Anusol-Plus-...ent-15g_21633/

Seems alright, I guess.

It feels like ever since the bleeding started, that intense pressure has eased up a bit—maybe it’s actually subsiding. I really hope that’s the case and it clears up soon, because honestly, this is far from pleasant.

Seems fine...

Ever since the bleeding started, the pressure feels less intense. It seems to be easing up slightly. Hoping it clears up soon, because this is anything but pleasant...

Great, as long as it works. 👍

Can someone share their actual experience with the THD method, ligation, or any of those other procedures they mention? Did it actually work, and did it finally get rid of those awful hemorrhoids for good? I've been reading all over the internet that a lot of people say the surgery didn't help at all, and some even claim things got worse—like they just threw money down the drain. So, seriously, did this operation actually work for anyone, and are you finally done with them? Also, if you could, let me know which doctor or clinic you went to.
Best of luck to everyone.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an exam and an EV procedure? Should I go with Lastric or Egypt?
I have one external hemicoch that doesn't bleed, it just stings and aches occasionally.
Thanks in advance!

Since I don't have much experience with this—it’s my first time dealing with hemorrhoids (hopefully the last)—how long does this actually last?
It's an external one. It's been 8 days since it showed up, and I've been using cream for 5 days now. The instructions say not to use it for more than 7 days straight.
On the third day, it started bleeding, but ever since then, it's noticeably smaller. Still, there's a tiny bit of bleeding left and it still stings.
How much longer could this go on?

Here’s my take on what it was like working with Dr. Ivanovich:
I had my procedure done at the Leptir Clinic back in December 2012. Before that, I was dealing with stage 3 external issues and bleeding that just wouldn't quit for years. Things definitely looked up right after the first go-round, though I did end up with a minor prolapse about a month later. I wasn't having it, so I insisted on having the surgery redone (for $0.00) in February 2013. Since then, everything has been smooth sailing and I'm feeling pretty good about where things stand. I can get back into my regular physical activities and sports without a second thought. I still steer clear of alcohol and spicy food just to be safe, but for now, it looks like I’m finally in the clear. As for the clinic itself, the service was top-notch.

Was that procedure done using the THD method, or is it something else?

It’s practically the same thing, just using a different device from a different manufacturer. In actual practice, the DG HAL RAR setup offers a bit more flexibility when you're dealing with prolapse.

Thanks. We don't get enough concrete patient reports like this on these forums... they're actually useful. 👍

Has anyone here actually tried Hemolex tablets?

They're specifically formulated for women.

Thanks

I mentioned this before... dealt with hemorrhoids for over 15 years... went to Sunce Clinic on June 31, 2013, paid 186 miles, had the DG HAL procedure done, and honestly? I'm thrilled today... I eat whatever I want—even when things get a bit tough in the bathroom—no issues at all, though I still try to avoid that like any sane person would (it happens sometimes, obviously)...

Just check my older posts—the date, the price, even the doctor's name is in one of them...

For the first two months, I actually thought I’d screwed myself big time. But like the doctor told me: it’s all about time and patience. Turns out he was right—you’ll remember me for the rest of your life, but for all the right reasons...

Seriously though... considering what this surgery costs elsewhere, this was an absolute steal...

If you have more questions, just ask...

hey ladies
been dealing with hemorrhoids for at least 10 years now... even after surgery they came right back. currently bleeding a lot and dealing with inflammation. i have a great proctologist... had the stapler procedure done which is totally painless... my issue is i just can't stop working. ironing, mowing the lawn, lifting heavy stuff—it's basically death for hemorrhoids... just constant physical labor. it's driving me crazy because i know everything about this but i can't seem to manage myself. my doctor suggests Detralex, warm chamomile baths, ointments, and suppositories... i do all that when things get bad, but when i feel okay, i'm right back to work. i've fixed my diet as much as possible... basically, hemorrhoids require constant care, you just have to learn to live with them... therapy helps some people, but others struggle for years like i do. honestly, i'm freaking out a bit right now... but for the beginners out there... stick to pharmacy ointments and suppositories, wash with lukewarm water, take chamomile baths... AND DON'T SIT ON THE TOILET FOR TOO LONG...
also, did anyone catch that Dr. Oz segment on hemorrhoids? apparently he recommends sitting on a tennis ball???? i missed it so if someone could explain
thanks

Hey fellow travelers, sending good vibes to everyone here—really hoping we all find some quick fixes and get back to living our best lives soon.

I’ve been digging through all sorts of advice and different ways to handle this, but honestly, I haven't come across anyone dealing with anything quite like my situation yet. About ten days ago, out of nowhere, I developed a hemorrhoid. No other symptoms at all—no pain, no issues with bowel movements, no bleeding, no stinging, nothing. It’s just annoying because it’s right there. I try to push it back in, but after walking just a few steps, it pops right back out again. At night, I apply some calendula oil compresses, which seems to work; it stays tucked away until morning, but then three minutes after I wake up, it’s back out there. 😕

The only time I ever dealt with bathroom issues or bleeding was over three years ago. That was a brief thing too—just a little sting, a tiny bit of blood, nothing major. Since then, it was totally smooth sailing until this sudden turn of events. 😢

Has anyone else gone through something similar? Any tips or suggestions on how to actually get it to stay put inside?
Thanks, everyone.

Thanks, guys.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing and I'm totally lost :/ I had some pretty heavy bleeding today and it actually scared me. I haven't seen a doctor yet because, let's be real, it's super awkward! But if I have to, I will... I'm just hoping for some advice like you're looking for. Help us out, guys—how do you fix this or even just calm it down so the bleeding stops? I don't get why this is happening since I just had gallbladder surgery and I've been eating healthy, boiled foods and being careful. I probably got it because I was basically just sitting or lying down for two months straight with hardly any movement. Thanks in advance for any tips...

I guess I'm in the same boat. I've never had bleeding or anything major, but they seem to show up whenever I'm at a concert or doing some intense workout. I assume it's the jumping or whatever. They stay for a couple of days, sting a bit, and then leave. Then they come back the next time I exert myself. Sorry about the graphic imagery here, but I try to push it back in with my finger, and then, well, it's right back out after a few minutes. :/

It looks like everyone in the recent threads is just asking questions without actually providing any answers, 😢 so I’m really hoping someone with some actual experience can step in and help me out here.

For years now, I've dealt with the occasional little blood spot on the paper (which turned out to be internal hemorrhoids), but recently, everything changed overnight. A massive hemorrhoid suddenly popped up on the outside, 😲 and honestly, the pain is just brutal—it hurts whenever I try to sit, walk, or even just stand up. I've been on an antibiotic regimen and using ointment, following all the hygiene advice, but the medical opinions are totally conflicting. One doctor told me it’s an external one, specifically a thrombosed hemorrhoid, while another insists that external ones don't exist and that they are all internal, suggesting I need to somehow push it back in. But the thing is, this isn't just an internal one that slipped out; it feels distinctly external, and no matter how much I try to push it back, it pops right back out immediately. This has been going on for over a week now, and I'm starting to lose my mind because nothing seems to be helping.

What should I be doing at this point? Does anyone have similar experiences or know what the prognosis looks like? Will this eventually subside, and if so, when?🙂
